  • @Karen21242 yes

  • As I recall from their Worldes Blisse CD, they took ancient texts and converted them into song.... YAY Mediaeval Baebes! :) Truly great vocal talent keeping elder stories alive!

  • Só de ouvir parece que stamos no plano das Fadas...Que lindo!

  • RV at "Trolls et Legendes",Avril,Mons...

  • WOW.....thats hot..and epic at the same time,..

  • I am in that century.

  • I listen to them while I'm in my garden. Sweet!

  • oh my goodness, the best song i've heard in *ages*

  • Another wonderful group that will gladly be taken up into me inner music universe ;-)

Crackle could be due to converting problems, the quality being cut down to a certain format

  • beautiful women !

  • i love this so much omg

  • English Please :D

  • These ladies are awesome. I am studying the Canterbury Tales right now, and this really helps out.

  • Thanks for posting this.

I think it would sound good also with a Middle English version.

  • Why is there a persistant crackling sound in the background of both songs?

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI ive no idea. it appeared after uploading and youtube's processing, the original file had no such artifacts

  • @Nephallux Oh well, its no big deal thanks for the upload

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI i think it gives it an old vinyl recording type feel

  • @Nephallux I´ve got to thank you soooooooo much!!! Heard the music the last time 10 years ago and found it nowhere!!! Thank you sooo much!!!!

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI Percussion instruments, like finger cymbals or something.

  • Percussion instruments, like finger cymbals or something.

  • @Darkrose517 No, it's a crackling sound that isn't in the original version's of these song's. The owner of this video even said it wasn't in the original... probably some interference in the upload.

  • Whats the first song called?

  • Is the name to mean "Medieval babys"? XD Whata cute stuff ^_^

  • @Ferlief

The name is to mean "medieval sexy women" it is a marketing tool. It is a shame that real music like this needs to be sold.

  • what song are these?

  • Wow. That was spectacular.

  • Words cannot describe how much I love this music. I just heard Mediaeval Baebes for the first time. Thank you for the upload :)

  • How can english women look so good?

  • I love it!

  • Fantastic. Rockin'.

  • What language do they sing in??

  • @WonderWoman200290 hahahahahahahahahaha

  • @Nephallux I am so immature : P I love the Baebes tho

  • Girl, to the right of the middle person, is totally cupping her tit

  • супер!

  • What is the name of the 2nd song? It's so enchanting.

  • @Amaris1966 Return of the Birds :)

  • @Amaris1966 I apologize for asking the question after someone already asked. I didn't see the post. Thanks for answering:)

  • What is the name of the 2nd song?

  • @zips2626 Return of the Birds

  • AMAZING!!!! LOVE IT!! =))

  • It is not Old English.

Old English = Anglo Saxon and would hardly be heard in other music than that of peseantry after the conquest of the Normans.

So it would be Middle English.

  • It's Middle English, like what Chaucer wrote:

A povre widwe somdeel stape in age, was whilom dwellyinge in a narwe cotage, beside a grove, stondyinge in a dale. This widwe, of wych I telle you me tale, sin thilke day that she was last a wyfe, had in full patience led a symple lyfe, for litel was hir catel and hir rente, by husbondrie of swich as God hir sente, she fund hirself and eek hir doughtren two....

  • Beautiful <3

  • ok, thnx.

I ask because I see that the translation is a bit off, probably on account of artistic license. It's good though :)

  • Sorry, can you tell me who translated this?

  • @Ashkhael was translated via internet, done a google search for the song tranlsations, then another youtube user suggested the Modern English translation of Pearl

  • They sing in Spanish? :)

  • @RuigaAgiur oops... it is old english!!! figured! lol

  • @RuigaAgiur uhh lol

  • @Nephallux it`s actually midlle english! lol

  • @RuigaAgiur when i said Modern English translation, I'm talking about Just that... the translation from Middle English to the one we use today (the one with credits from PaganLyle)

  • So I happened upon them by chance last night and... holy crap.

    I love them.

    I want them. Bbwahahaha

    ~dastardly

  • @RoseandButterflies They often make appearances at Renaissance festivals. Check yours. :)

  • ohh, q hermosa melodia! siento una hermosa sensacion al escucharla...xD

  • amazing... i'm speachless

  • Awesome Celtic music! Thank you Mediaeval Baebes!

  • @KnightOfYourHeart007

    It's Old English...can't you tell;p

  • @kelric6 It's Middle English...how could you make that mistake? ;p

  • @Ashkhael

    Lol....you got me;p Lol;p

  • i love the music of this group but i really dont like the name of the group. it just sounds too pretentious, like they're trying to put a hip spin on the music which hasnt been hip for several hundred years. the name is just contradictary to the musical style. the word baebs would be more fitting to groups of todays pop music really. the medieval baebs are supposed to be more sophisticated than the name really whick dont sound sophisticated in the least. still love their music non the less!

  • dirtyjew1974,

I agree with you that the name is "contradicting" but I remember when I listened to one of their Cd´s for the first time, I was stunned by what they made of the music, and in the end only that counts, right (o:

when Josef Haydn was supposed to go to England, Mozart his friend said to him but you do not speak the language" he replied " my language is understood throughout the whole world" I love that music is a langauge that we all can understand no matter what our language is

  • God where can I get this CD?

  • amazing

  • They have great voices. They are so pretty and I love their outfits. I wonder where they got them...

  • I love their songs. Thanks for posting! :)

  • My baby girl loves these songs

  • And who said Old Souls don't find each other to create something wonderful?

  • Fantastic music, Return of the Birds is one of my favourite ever pieces of music.

  • I've sung with the Mediaeval Baebes before with my choir :) Singing with them again soon :) xx

  • I so love the music of the middle ages.

  • Hot girls, relaxing music very nice :)

  • this music is aswome on levls but for the love of god if anyone says any crap bout it being wicth or somthing like i will eat your first born child grr, i love this music but i write my thought in storys

  • I first heard them live on some festival, where they were... not very impressive

But I have to say that with a proper studio and some remastering they sound quite good.

  • ys this music is F ing aswome but please it may have background to it but just listen andwonder with your mind

  • I agree.

  • Amazingness.

  • classic music of the ages!! just coz you have no taste!! dont listen to it if you dont like it!!!!

    joking..:D..

  • If you like this music contact Peter Jackson and co . They would be perfect doing the soundtrack to the HOBBIT...

  • This is great music- perfect for forging metal in my smithy. Thanks for posting- god, those women are beautiful!

  • Omg this is the first time I heard their songs and if all of their songs are like this I'm totally hooked! =D

  • Like this kind off music, nice if they could join a midiaeval festival ind Denmark. There s 1 by copenhagan I think in may.

  • I keep going back to this video!

It might be the 18th in a week... :o

    it's just so... melodious.

  • wow, hehe

  • I know sad..... but in a good way!!! ;D

  • no it's not I still play this video too lol :P

I did twice today ...damn wait 3 times now hehe

  • haha niiice! :D

oh and thx for adding me ^^

  • you should look up adult lullaby by them and erthe upon erthe

  • sweet thx

  • Usually I just listen to the music on some level of my subconcious while working on something else, but I actually read the lyrics along with the song this time. I never really realized how wildly different old English is from modern English.

  • Woooooow, just....incredible

  • *agree* +1

  • the first photo used here was when the baebes were at their physically most attractive line-up, IMO. don't get me wrong -- there's never been a mundane looking baebe, but there is some serious estrogen represented in that shot . . . could never decide whether it was the beauty of the music or of the women that I like so mouch about the baebes.

  • Giggle, they would eat you alive. Die happy!

  • This is great!

  • Guess thats who they are.

    Brillient Song.

I was told by somone at the youth group I help run to check this band out!

I will be buying a CD!

  • whats up with the band name

  • what about it?

  • i was wondering that myself lol

  • :D

anyways this band really rocks!! it's really interesting to hear how Old English sounded and Latin too..

  • beautiful song... unfortunate band name...

  • ..the same!

  • Quite lovely!

  • Beautifull....so...

    Thanks!!!

  • yes it is :D

  • So...

    Perfect...

    THANK YOU!!!

  • you're welcome :)

  • Return of the Birds makes me want to do that ancient medieval tradition known as "maying" XD

  • ummm... I'm sorry.. what is "Maying?"

  • i think he means simply lazing about and being jolly.

  • being leisurely :)

  • Oh, Thank you. =)

  • from which cds are these two?

  • Mirabilils and a "best of" album

  • thank you

  • no problem :)

  • I want to wear a pretty green dress and frolic in the woods with this song playing... totally just my fantasy playing like a movie in my head. Don't make fun of me!

  • You should just go and do exactly that... Buy a really nice green dress and put this song on a Ipod or something..

  • you definitely shoukd do that, and no, i'm not making fun of you, just try to find a ancient and evergreen wood

  • Thanks! I probably will actually. My sister is a photographer and I'm a makeup artist and we live in Northern California so we're thinking of going to the redwoods to do a fairytale shoot. I'll just buy a dress like this and add that in!

  • make sure there is a stream just gives the romantic/doomed romantic feeling.

am not making fun either its just a nice thought and i wish i had nice dress to frolic in the woods. i'd be more like the wicked gnome or something fare de well princess mewcat95662 of northern california

  • so was any frolicking ever done is such woods ? :)

  • Me too! :)

  • I got the same urge. And I'm a guy.

  • Well, even tho I'm a woman, I'd have to admit that they are definitely "baebes"!

  • Video no longer available. Can you repost?

  • it's working here man

  • Freaky. o.O;

  • I love this song! I want it! T___T

  • wonderful!

  • whooo it sounds more like dutch and german :D

i even regocnize a few words which are the same as my east dutch dialect twents ^^

and theres a song from faun: vond den elben. it sung in old middhigh german... if you dont have the lyrics next to you it sounds almost the same :D its all just 1 splitted language :) the older it gets the more you regocnize from the other languages

  • In the Middle Ages Frisians and East Anglian fishermen could understand each others dialects.

  • even the saxons dialect have still a lot in common with english grammar :)

  • Wow, that's great! If only I could properly understand what they're singing. :(

  • the translation is there as well...

  • I know that! :P I meant I wish I could properly understand them, like the way I'd understand them if they were speaking modern English, you know? ^.^

  • le mediaeval sn uniche nel genere di musica e da questi commenti si puo capire che sono

in tutto in mondo! w le mediaeval!

  • Old English sounds truly weird...

  • better than modern english specially those from america...

  • especially the inner city dialects :S

  • Ein wunderschönes Lied zum entspannen!!!

    Einfach nur Hammer...

  • Thank you very much for sharing this with us:=)

  • damn we have their CD :) <(had no idea what the hell it was first time i heard it but then i was like 12 then), i have that weird thing where you associate sound to visual stimulation or memory, for instance when i listen to weird al yankovic's bad hair day album i think of GTA4 because thats what i played quite a lot when playing it, when i hear these awesome tunes it reminds me of Dawn of War :)

  • I really want to hear the song Ulpirra, but I cant find it anywhere and they took it off their myspace! :(

    they are sick though :)

  • It is truly something...I feel I actually hear Britain in their voices...

  • magico

  • What a beautiful song!!

    They're awesome! I love it:D<
