OK... I have been doing my taxes.... grrr. and watching season 2 on net flix while I do. I don't know if it is just the taxes or if the show really displayed the incompetence of the American public but these people in season 2 are !@#%!$%@#$@%#$%!@$! Nutsy Feagan RETARDED!!!!!!!!!!!! You want a suggestion for S3 or 4 or whatever your on for the experiment. Bring them out to a Ranch in Nebraska or South Dakota and see if they can survive with no buildings no urban expanse to forage in.

My suggestion for you. Find a rancher or farmer to be on the show. Rural area people know how to work in the elements and can be extremely resourceful.

Just finished watching the first season of the colony on Netflix loved it. Going to buy the DVDs and I'll start the second season this next weekend.

Use a bandana, that works really well, then a bucket with gravel, charcoal, and sand in a container of some magnitude to filter the water. Purifying it is a different story due to the microbes that lurk on the microscopic level. Iodine works but is unreasonable. Boil the water or even just electrocute the water with a circuit to kill the microbes.

I think for this show like half the ppl picked should have the skills and the other have should be ppl that are kind of regular., you know like The college student, or the lady that works in the office. or ppl like that, just make sure that they have the will to do this show and are very willing to learn quick... yeah no couch potatoes. I would love to do this show but, I gotta finish up with school... :(

I was trying to watch that 2 season, but I just lost interest; I STOPPED WATCHING. Those colonist were so much more bland and less knowledgeable, this time around. And I understand that it's all fake anyway. But can't they cast at lest have one survival expert, or SHTF guy or gal. There are so many great ones here on youtube like: nutnfancy, DEMCAD, ThePatriotNurse. just to name a few. 10% of the US is homeless or unemployed, what about them? With them; show would be way better, I think.

I personally think that their is way too many contractors in the first season. Also, everyone is OLD... they should put a young adult in the show. Someone who is like 17 or 18 that has not as much a formal education but can do other survival things.

My family has been survivalists sence a few years before Y2K and we havent given it up yet. I also know alot about growing, and skinning animals. I am a decent cook and i know how to jury rig and rube goldburg to an extent.

it would be really intresting to have someone on the show who didnt really have any profesion but was a sucsessfull outdoorsmen.like it would be nice to see someone on the show who was an average joe. its nice to see all the geniuses but it would be cooler to throw in somone who didnt have any profesion. a really hard core person who is good under presure. there is alot of ppl out there who dont have any profesion but they could rock this show. thats wat alot of viewers want to see.

@kojakbeistel also it would be a good show too. there might be some serious missing links in the show but who knows that the average joe isnt one of them. maybe someone who is passionate about the out doors lol. i would really like to see that. we sat there screaming at the tv knowing how to do the things in season 1 but we dont have phds. lol. take some risks. it might be the best show ever if u do. usa is built on risks. lets try a regular mediyoker person on the show it would be intresting.
