  • man i remember when this was one of the original featured videos, when featured videos meant something. good times. this deserves a second run in fame.

  • @AntVenom Yes, those were the days. Good to see I'm not the only one that remembers them.

Escape From Darkness-my 1st 10 second short film.

Thanks and keep up the good work!!!

  • this is excellent!! really clever.

  • Beautiful composite :)

  • One word = IRIE

  • bit random, but very calming.. =)

  • That's amazing. I love this video. It's so beautiful and thought provoking. The way the camera shakes really ties it all in with reality, it's a kind of rough crossed with smooth thing. I really like it. Well done.

  • Brilliant work!! Really inspiring!

  • Well done! I like it :) How did you do this if you don't mind me asking...

  • Is it possible to get the name of the music used?

  • TIGHT!!!

  • Backspace hehe that is like my name!

    LOVE IT!

  • I love your video! How'd you do that?!

  • you people are fucking shameless, man...

  • whoa

  • it would be epic if letters formed

    "KILL EVERYONE"

  • lol!

  • just wanted to say the backspace videos are beautiful. I absolutely love them!!

  • Cool. I like how understated it is. Very professional looking, too. Well done.

  • Fantastic!

  • holy shit.

  • very well done

  • Typo Magic. Very Shiny.

It would have been fun to see the peoples reaction to having a giant letter float by. Like in unfold. (which I like even better.)

  • This reminds me of Farbrausch's Debris. Just that this video doesn't convey the message of destruction as much as Debris does.

  • hahahahaha... do you even know the difference? the video you're reffering to was CG... no integration/compositing challenges to speak of. Float on the oter hand makes use of camera tracking... also notice how he matched the lighting. Now that is talent. That debris thing, while rendered nicely... should not be compared to Float.

  • in response to: :)

"This reminds me of Farbrausch's Debris. Just that this video doesn't convey the message of destruction as much as Debris does."

  • I am of course completely aware of the differences :-). The thing I was trying to point out are the similar ideas and the way the letters (in some parts of the videoclip) float in a similar fashion.

The videos are of course not to be compared in ways of production technique. The only thing they have in common are some similar ideas and the superb use of differnet skills and techniques.

  • :) sorry, i thought you were one of those "CG experts" :)

  • なんと、反社会的な・・・。

  • Very magical.....gave me a big smile.

  • I liked it! :)

    Cheers.

  • How did you make this? What software program did you use?

I've got to say, this is a superb piece of work. Now for the geeky question as I'm studying digital media heh.

  • thats so amazing, I used to mess around with composite/3d stuff when I was like 14? 15? I made spaceships in my room and stuff with shadows and all.

What programs and effects did you use to make this one? 3d studio max with aftereffects to simulate shakey camera movements to make the 3d overlay easier?
