The main reason Mario Galaxy was good was because it was fun, creative and original. This is quite possibly the most imaginative thing they could've done and by putting like 5 changes in the game they make a "whole new game". This really doesn't excite me, money-makers.

Galaxy was the best game ever developed internally at Nintendo.  The relatively new EAD Tokyo studio is GODLY because Galaxy was so very impressive in every way.

Galaxy was completely STELLAR.

Nintendo could've really disappointed me by only doing NSMB Wii, but they have Galaxy 2 coming in 2010. JOY \o/
