  • I agree with everything she said 1000000%. Just cut it out of your diet for a while and see what happens if you don't believe it.

  • What if the ONLY ingredient is oat? I feel great on oats. Good digestion, never tired or any other issue.

  • Then, with what do I eat my scrambled eggs? they are mushy and soft *cringe* I eat eggs because I eat it with toast, wich adds crunch. hmm.. I dont know how to solve that.

  • + Addiction works by stimulating the reward center of the brain (a.k.a. pleasure center). Same goes for ALL of the food where eating is associated with pleasure.

  • 1. Human body, unlike in rats where the first leptin's role in energy expenditure was discovered, has whole anoth neuropathways and steps to supress letpin activity. That's why Leptin deiting drugs never worked for people.

    2. Inflammationis not bad. It's actually an immune response by the white blood cells. Only chronic inflammation is considered to be dangerous.

    3. Other half of your explainations had to do with gluten sensitive populiation which only makes up about 6% of the population.

  • Damn you gotta love the "health community". Not too long ago there was a HUGE push for wheat products replacing processed white flour,simple carb products. NOW it's bad for you smh! This is almost as bad as the whole egg debate lol.

  • You need to be careful with giving this tip, because these carbs help nero system. Those who are manic etc. can't cut carbs. If someone is sensitive to wheat then what you say is correct. But they need to find a substitute.

  • I just wanted to mention that for 6 months all i ate was fruitss, smoothies, greek yogurt, lots and lots of water, lean chicken (SANDWICHES) on whole wheat bread, i had oatmeal here and there and most importantly... my 100% whole wheat cereal with no sugar or salt. just one friggen ingredient AND LOST 25 LBS!.... fiber makes you shit! ... and honestly my moms a doctor to and she even tells me its ok to have friggen whole wheat bread and cereal in your bloody ass diet!

  • The biggest argument against this is the French: famous for delicious (usually white) bread, eating it at least once a day, and they're mostly slim and healthy with great skin. I think the secret is simple good quality ingredients and portion control.

  • I think a better title for this video would be "10 reasons to stop eating processed wheat." Whole wheat is actually fantastically healthy for pretty much everyone on two legs (shy of obvious allergy or intolerance, as indicated). There's scientific evidence (not theory) to support the idea. Cardiovascular health, disease prevention, and circulatory benefits have all been proven. Before jumping on the 'wheat is evil' bandwagon, get all the information. Good start, though.

  • @XeroJaeger Respectfully, Organic or not, "whole wheat" or not, ALL WHEAT has amylopectin-a, wheat germ agglutinin, gluten etc. There are absolutely no health benefits to be gained whatsoever from eating wheat. I would strongly urge you to review the profiteers of the "scientific evidence" you speak of...and also look into the HEAPING STACK of MORE CURRENT and UNBIASED scientific evidence.   • @leansecrets Brenda - first of all, you have a fantastic channel, a great ethic, and show some amazing stuff. Let's be clear about that. Not to mention you're easy on the eyes. My comments meant NO disrespect. That being said - one series of fat producing molecules does not a villain make. I agree that there are downsides to wheat, no denying that, but eliminating it as a dietary possibility on the basis of it having 'no nutritional benefit' is, very simply, false. There is no converse argument.

  • This is soooo true. I thought eating oatmeal was a good thing so I eat it every morning in school, now I know why I gained weight & what makes me sooooo bloated . I thought it was something else. & oatmeal has been making my weight loss soooo hard & I think that is the reason why I'm sleepy all the time. Thanks Brenda! Now I know what to do.

  • LOL @ all the people getting worked UP! Get clued up.. Wheat contains an an anti-nutrient, which is basically mess you up BIG TIME.

    Most importantly, wheat causes bodily inflammation - Inflammation is the cause OF ALL MODERN diseases, from diabetes, heart disease and even cancer! Also, Increase your Omega 3 intake, reduce your Omega 6 intake. Cut out wheat/ gluten and eat food that grows naturally, like fruits, vegetables, nuts and meats, fish. Last I checked, bread doesn't grow in trees! lol

  • holy cow, lotta people freaking out! lol i read ur ebook & have been wheat-free since jan 2, and i can honestly say i do NOT miss it at all. i thought i would be ready to chew my arm off by now but surprisingly, i have ZERO cravings for bread or anything with wheat. someone brought a box of donuts into work the other day (i always LOVED donuts) and they did not look even REMOTELY appealing. i am surprised and delighted. just try it, people! you have nothing to lose but your waistline :)

  • Been wheat and gluten free since reading the book Wheat Belly by Dr. William Davis. Good stuff. About a month into being gluten free and I have so much more energy and zero cravings for anything bread-like.

  • @t3ndress3 brown rice, quinuoa, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, fruits, vegetables, just to name a few :) And the people who say it's healthy are making money from the wheat crops (wheat is super cheap to make, and VERY profitable). Most health and fitness experts agree that wheat is garbage...and the stack of evidence & studies is staggering.

  • I cut wheat out of my diet a few months ago and feel AMAZING! The difference is unbelievable. Tons more energy, thinking clearly, no groggy feeling, less stomach bloating. I just feel great! I have heard that sprouted wheat acts differently in the body, but not sure. How do you feel about Ezekiel bread? Of course, I prefer rice bread.

    The channel underground fitness has a video called "These ain't the same grains" all about the changes that wheat has gone through genetically to reduce it to the unhealthy grains we eat today.

    Also gluten sensitivities and disorders attributed to wheat still existed then, they just didn't know wheat was a potential cause.

  • This is an awesome video, thanks so much for doing it.. I'm thinking thats what causes my breakouts.. i love 'wheat'.. Breads of all kinds (pita, tortillas, whoel grain etc.) Pasta is the love of my life, i do try to eat less. But this video really makes sense and makes me want to stop eating it.. It is EXTREMELY addictive.

  • @HomeGymFitness That depends on the person :) Oatmeal contains prolamines, which are similar to gluten...some people can eat oatmeal w/o any issues at all...some people find that fat loss is easier without it. The best thing to do is cut out oats and wheat for 2-3 weeks...and then try a small cup of oatmeal on an empty stomach 1st thing in the am. If you're groggy/sleepy/hungry/have brain fog 30minutes later, then your body doesn't like oats. ps. Be sure to always get GLUTEN FREE oats.

    Weightwatchers recommends oatmeal. I'm on weightwatchers and I'm still eating healthy and I eat oatmeal every third morning. I buy the one from Food Doctor, it's so yummi when it's cooked with milk, made into a porridge :)

  • I'm such a fan of yours Brenda, but wish this vid was a bit longer so you could include alternatives; No one gives more info. per vid than you. When I went off wheat for awhile and stuck to my diet, it took about 3 days and I had no more cravings. Weight loss increased. Hunger levels were much lower--I was also eating clean so tht helped I'm sure.. When back to it, cravings came back with a vengence along with intense bloating and fatigue, along with huge craving for SUGAR/CANDY.

  • I don't eat the whole wheat bread, but I do eat whole wheat pita bread, but most of the time I don't eat bread my family thinks I'm weird. If we can't have whole wheat then what can we have tell me that, your video scared me to death. I'm going grocery shopping Friday tell me what I can eat instead of what's going to kill me :)

  • I'd been without wheat products for awhile, and after a tough workout today I made a breakfast burrito thing and used a 100% whole wheat tortilla to wrap it. A little while after I ate it, I literally went to sleep. It was crazy!

  • @DODGERS921 No no! There are SO MANY healthy foods that are good! I know bread is tough (because it tastes so darn good)...but trust me, the options are limitless :) Check out some of my recipe videos for a few ideas...and I'll be making more for you guys!

  • Perfect video! For about 2 months now iv been STUCK with my weight loss and my skin has gotten just horrible. Well I cut out wheat when I was diagnosed with MS but slowly have brought it back in. Now it all makes since :)

  • You are so right. My Dr. told me not to eat wheat. I never knew that I was allergic to it until I stopped eating it, then ate it again and I was miserable and bloated. On the Dr. Oz show, they said that eating a snicker's bar was better on the glycemic index scale than 2 pieces of whole wheat bread. And that it is indeed over processed. Great video and great information.

  • Great video, very infomative...I eat sunflower bread and teh Ezickel brand bread, are these ok? There is some soy in them, and I have been reading mixed reviews about the effects of soy in your body. Also, what daily suplements/vitamins do you recomend taking.

  • @broncosass299 Oats are fine. Bob's Red Mill is a good brand to choose for purchasing gluten free oats that are not contaminated with wheat during processing.
