  • What a beautiful piece.

  • I've gone crazy looking for this piece. I remembered it specifically due to the epic beginning. It really is an amazing piece. As I read the notation and listen, I see that it really has quiite a simple structure with no fancy technique required other than tremlos, but it has such depth with it's emphasis on excessive range and modulation. I really hope to learn good compositional skills by studying Liszt's music. I want to learn how to turn a simple image or idea into a masterpiece.

  • @thphaca Keep trying new different things diligently and eventually you'll figure it out.

  • brilliant version.... ^^

  • Of Lazar's playing of this group of pieces,I liked this the least. While it has fantastic breadth in it's soundscape, the central tempo is too much a tyrant. The varied auras of the sections are not indivuduated enough for me and the feeling of uncontrolled ecstasy so necessary to this particular piece does not really get a chance to live here.

  • Thank you very much for having posted this! One of my favourite Liszt pieces in a splendid performance I've never heard before. Excellent rendition by Lazar Berman! Certainly in the league of Jorge Bolet and Aldo Ciccolini who are much revered by me. All of them different, and all of them great. Thanks again for this performance!
