  • Ok guys, if you're running Windows Vista or Windows 7 make sure that you locate your "Desktop" folder under your user profile. Right click your Desktop folder and deselect the "hidden" attribute. If you're running Windows XP, make sure you do the same but in Documents in Settings and then locate your Desktop folder. If anyone is lost please email us and we can send you our detailed guide. The entire desktop and themes can still be recovered after the removal of this virus.

go onto another computer and download a prgram called "Rkill". copy it onto a flash drive and move it to the infected PC's desktop, then rename it to "iexplore.exe" and then run it. it'll take about a minute to run, then it will kill the malware process which will enable you to asccess task manager and stops the virus blocking programs. also after it has run it will show you which files were stopped, these are the malware files, and look like random numbers or (see next comment)

... numbers followed by .exe. they will probably be in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data. remove anything suspicious looking. then run mbam to make sure there's nothing left.
