  • lol the guitar player keeps jumping like a rabbit :3

  • Donde esta horatio ? xD

  • My english teacher played this for us in class... he had a smoke machine and lazers and whatnot... He's pretty awesome.

  • merci aux années 60 & 70 de nous avoir donné des groupes tels que les WHO et ce bon rock and roll je suis très nostalgique de cette époque

  • bravo et merci les whoo super rock!!!!

  • old but good

  • I thought something was amiss. This recording may be from '73, but the footage is from "The Kids Are Alright" (recorded in '78). If you watch close it's out of sync in lots of places, especially the drums. I just watch TKAA version of this song. So sad, Moon could barely play anymore. Rumor was he was gonna get sacked if he had lived.

  • @traslomita What the fuck are you talking about you colossal cunt?We are here to enjoy the music, keep your politics out of it.TWAT!!

  • unreal maestro!

  • Entwhistle was unreal, a real maestro

  • 7:33 EPIC

  • dommage que ce ne soit pas les images correspondant à la musique!!!

  • It's pretty cool to hear a live version of this song when Keith was still into it.

  • My favourite. I like how Townsend gobs, too funny.

  • excellent video job. only one thing: don't show the players playing an obviously different phrase, as in the guitar solo...if you miss the take, show something else, whatever it is! anyway, excellent job!!! txs

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!

  • doesnt get any better than this right here, real music

  • 4 razones para usar condón :(

  • Great way to start a Monday Morning

  • all genius

  • god bless this city and god bless this band

  • This is really out of topic but thumbnail = Billy Elliot The Musical

  • Keith Moon's drum solo in this version is off the charts. Listen to those quads and triplets! Not to mention that he was playing that Quadrophenia kit, which had such a great sound. So many toms and he hit everyone of them. Brilliant Keith Moon!

  • Awesome. I watch this and still wonder how they can be so amazing. Why doesn't that microphone just go flying off in to space after Roger swings it so fast.

  • 7:32 sounded like someone was set on fire

  • Roger is the best dancer ever

  • Very well done...

  • THE POWERSLIDE!!

  • 7:32 THAT CLIP WAS ON TENACIOUS D! XD

  • Someone explain to me what's going on...this clearly isn't live....

  • Is that guitarist on something?

  • pete's guitar playing sucked bad in this performance

  • the hypnotized do lie (3 of them so far).

  • Roger...

  • every member of this band was and is great

  • great song , great band , what else ? just listen damn rock !!!

  • The Who? THE BEST!

Entwistle did the two things I love most in life, bass and cocaine

  • back in the day when there was no AutoTune. just skills.

  • EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the greatest songs ever.

  • Now, there's a drummer and bass player, the BEST!!!!

  • Very nice job synching the old video with the older audio. A little disconcerting for me though coz I was AT the Philly show in '73!! hahaha

  • I am taking drum lessons and hope I can be at least half the drummer Keith Moon was. (That would make me a hell of a drummer!) He was so awesome!

  • Awesome band. Fantastic message, more relevant today than ever...

    Let's NOT be fooled again >>>>>>> >>>>> >>>> >>> >> >

    VictusOptime ~ TLC

  • Greatest of the great!

  • Awesome Video.Love all the old footage mixed together. The WHO / Always BADASS!

Kids need to watch & learn that THIS is a rock band!

  • me encanta

  • @MrMeddled

No kidding, man, that was pretty good

  • ending was awesome, but the rest was kind of boring (because it mostly stuck with shepperton)

  • 7:33 just makes me want to fuckin do it too!!!

  • wtf? drums are dubbed?

  • @Flerg3 Something's a little dodgy...

  • Damn, i forgot how incredible they were. The greatest band of all time, bar none.

  • spider-web bass, the fucking shit!!! the who is the best!!!!

  • John Entwistle the best bassist of all time

  • Very clever job of editing, thanks for posting!

  • Unashamedly yet again post a link to the best rock and roll in the world. Whats interesting in this one (watch closely) is the body language from Townsend towards Daltrey. No love lost, and with the arm wheels, he's basically taking 'the piss'.

  • This is crap, it's 90% Shepperton and naturally most of it is out of sync with the music, why not have the video with the original sound????

  • I have this album, it's a great sounding boot! cheers for posting..

  • cause i know that the hypnotized never lie..do ya

  • 7:33 best scream eveeeer!

  • Of all the WGFA versions I've heard, this one's got the best drum solo. Any better ones out there?

  • philly my arse

  • Good job on the video! Its nice(& ABOUT TIME!) that we are able to finally listen to these awesome Who performances from the 70's...,some of us poor slobs either lived too far away or couldn't get a ticket to a sold out show! Excuse me,I get a "speck in my eye" everytime I watch Keith & John playing...,they are sorely missed...,it will certainly be a time before anyone else comes along that can match them musically, I believe.

  • i think this is kilburn in london--not Philadelphia

  • 'THE WHO' ARE THE BEST BAND EVER - BUT TOWNSEND LOOKS A RIGHT 'PLONKER' THE WAY HE JUMPS AROUND LIKE A 6ft 'SPAZ' ON 'CRACK' - AND CONTINUES TO DO SO TO THIS DAY!

  • It's not Philly Kilburn--it's mostly Shepperton Film Studios--the performance that made it into the final cut of The Kids Are Alright. The way to tell the difference is Keith's outfit. At Kilburn he's wearing some kind of silky, purple, star-spangled pajamas. The version at Shepperton has Keith in a much more nondescript shirt.

  • keith moon is god

  • I was there. What a great show.

  • WHO DAT!

  • saw these guy's in Philly during the 25th Annisversary tour.....the Best Rock Concert that i ever saw.

  • i remember when keith moon passed out at cow palace during this song

  • I'm pretty sure he passed out during "substitute" at the cow palace

  • @boagieking He passed out a few times before they finally took him off the stage.

  • he passed out during "Wont Get Fooled Again" and "Magic Bus" at the cow palace. I have a full recording of that show.

HOWEVER in 1976, onthe opening night of the first US tour of that year in Boston Mass, He collapsed just after Substitute. but just after a month later, the band returned in perfect form. pete even smashed a guitar.

I have audio from both of those boston shows as well

  • I'm not sure about comparison this liver version to the studio version, but o.k. Listen to Moon's snare at 6:15-6:20, and following for several seconds (wish I could hear it better). Fantastic.

  • comparing...live (d'oh!)

  • listen to this (73) and then the actual audio of KAAR just before he died

quite the difference, even this is not as good as what he laid down on Who's Next

  • A well done video, good quality sound, well edited..Keep it up..

  • rEAL MUSIC, SHAME MUSIC TODAY IS QUITE LAME.

  • I fuckin love it on sunday night at 9.30, csi miami starts, i hear a 30 sec version of the song then turn the tv off.

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well done saw them in like 77 in chitown

  • Cool Who Video............

  • This was filmed in 1978

  • Why does it say Philly?

  • cuz it was live from philadelphia, philly for short

  • History of rock in the making - this is platinum - will never tarnish...!

  • Keith followed the Vocals whatever else happened - that's what made him the best! This was the most important statement made by the Rock'N'Roll Generation! after that I'm afraid that Thatcher's Philosophy won fuck fuck fuck now the union's struggle over the years has been erased by the TORY fuckin media - may they rot in Hell for their sins

  • Love this super....

  • que buenos

  • messieurs les wallons! wont fool us again!

  • THIGHT!!???

  • The Who and CSI:Miami 4 Eveeeeer!!!

  • lol its like kieth cant even tell what every1 else is playing and he's just hitting random drums. lol he's uber good

  • the only drummer who s parkt his rolls in the swimmingpool.

  • he's also taken gorrilla tranquilizer before a concert and still managed to play the drums although at one point he collapsed! Keith Moon was probably the best drummer after ginger baker

  • love your taste!!!! mmmmmmcream if you say something of the early peter green fleetwood mac man of the world,oh well i will marry you!!Ha ha,sorry but i love good music.

  • better than baker.

  • Keith Moon, simply the best!

  • R.I.P John Entwistle and Keith Moon. The greatest rhythm section a rock band ever had!!

  • i miss them both the band will never be the same with out them

  • well i couldn't choose between them or john paul jones/john bonham....

  • @MotleyCruerule92 IMO They are tied with Led Zeppelin on that.

    John Bonham > Keith Moon

John Entwistle > John Paul Jones

Wtf is with every band having a 'John' In them

  • @kildare97 they were basically the same drummer but keith was crazier plus jimmy page wanted the whos rythm section which were john and keith

  • @MegaCokamo He wanted them until he heard John Bonhams Thuunderouse drumming and Right foot

  • i always love how John Entwissle looks like he's not even trying!

  • "The singer, well he's only interested in himself. The drummer...God knows what he's interested in. And the bassist isn't interested in anything at all."

    ~Pete Townshend

  • lol pete hates the singer

  • roger daltrey has swagger and deserves it! I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • did you know the who used to hold the record for the loudest music... they found it out buy having them play out side and they killed all the gold fish in a near by pond because their music is so loud

  • lol one of pete's guitars has a 2 on it

  • 2's are smashable guitars.

Guitars with a 1 on them are too nice or special to be smashed.

  • This isn't Philly 1973. It's Kilburn 1977, with some footage of Carlton 1974 mixed in.

  • It's actually Sheperton 1978 from the Kids Are All Right film. The Kilburn footage from the previous year looks very similar, even their clothes are the same.

  • Thanks for the correction. It's an odd video. There are shots from Charlton, for example, spliced in (see 1:27-1:34). But you're right, the bulk of the video is Sheperton 1978.

  • the video footage is just many different shows, mainly shepperton, spliced together. the audio, however, is from philly.

  • love the power slide!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • freekin awesome, this is a song of destiny

  • Ha haa....Keith Moon is miming, look at 5:28 to 5:30......

No wonder it was such a good performance... he must have been out of his brains again and couldn't keep up!

  • The one and only real musical star and who makes this fabulous is Entwistle.

All the others is primarily actors and at best secondarily musicians.

  • Second thought!

I could think o making an exception for Roger. He really is an exceptional singer besides the acting skills .

  • On further reflection I could even give som paus to Keith. It's really not bad att all the kind of music he performed.

  • What are you on about? Moonie was a crap actor, and he was also one of the top 3 rock drummers!

  • Looks like most of this footage was from Kilburn in 1977, when Moon was still with us.

  • It's cool. I have the 1977 DVD and I watch it all the time... Roger in that shirt is speechless.

  • this was in 1978

  • The bands of today could learn alot from these guys.Talent and passion=kick ass

  • The bands of today could learn EVERYTHING from a band like the WHO-power, passion, musicanship, showmanship, and plain balls. I saw them in 1976, they were INCREDIBLE!

  • I saw Roger and Pete in Brisbane the day after my birthday this year... SO MANY BANDS CAN LEARN FROM THEM! The support bands before them were CRAP. Mum and I were falling asleep in our seats. Stupid freaking emo crap... we want real music! and the who brought us that! It was unfortunate that people walked out even before the who even came on... I wish they chose a better support group!

  • London boys. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah!

  • FUCKIN' FANTASTIC VIDEO!

  • Great Video...Great Band....Great Song! Thanks for posting.

  • Great tone on the bass

  • the footage is 1978 from the "kids are alright" documentary

  • this is on kick ass song...i saw the who at the palace in 08 and it was a kcik ass concert

  • Nice psychedelic touch for the organ part at the end.

  • Comment removed

  • That's a synthesizer, not an organ. and this song was one of the first to feature it, thnaks to Townshend.

  • Bloody hell! Is someone else playing the drums back stage at this gig or what???

  • Yep, he was so outta shape that they rerecorded later inthe studio and put it on the track

  • You had a good idea, but the majority of the video is from the Shepperton show, and so as a result there are times when the two obviously don't match up. If you had used the footage from the other shows more frequently this could have been limited. Also when you did put other footage in, it seemed random and out of place. It was a neat idea though.

  • the audio and the drumming in the video do not match

  • i mean number 1 their a 5 on the other video for baba o riley

  • good song what hell is that number 5 on pete guitar for.

  • my teacher was at this concert in philly 73

  • entwistle ftw.

    hahah

  • Townshend must have been on something during this show

  • nah just having a good time =D

    kekekek

  • pontiac?! as in pontiac michigan? which footage is that?

  • Looks like the 1978 Shepperton footage to me but with different audio.

  • which segment though?

  • wooooooooooooohaaaaaaaaaa!!!

  • nice vid

  • awesome vid thanks for posting.

  • great video

  • seen them live years ago and got kieths drum sticks but i bet the first wife through them away ..what a waste

  • that sucks

  • My parents are so lucky!! They got to see them, my mother at Woodstock and my father in Atlantic City. I'm only 31, so I was -4 when they played this! I can see or hear it second hand thanks to kind people like you. Thanks so much for posting!! Blessings

  • Wow, this took some time, man. Good job!

  • Its Shepperton and charlton , not philly

  • no, thats where the video is from, the audio is from philly 73

  • Amazing Video! Amazing BAND!!!
