This song is terrible, wasn't it covered by Boney M? I'd much rather listen to something like The Small Faces Ogden's Nutgone Flake or The Who's Sell Out albums for some psychedelic goodness.
@shockmastershocksuI don't claim to know anything about 60's music, I was born in 1968.All I know is this song is fucking awful and I'd rather listen to The Who or The Small Faces.I've heard The Creation are this highly influential band, so influential, in fact, that none other than Boney M covered this shit song.I'm sure they wrote better songs and were good musicians but this song is CRAP!
@richwicz I love the creation, do you even know the rest of their songs? The Who really sucked ass with their rock opera/classic rock bullshit. At least the creation never went that route.
This band was horrible, really bad. It must be 67 near worms in a small beat-club, theyre have wont to made the headliner, we have made the warm-up-band and after 2 or 3 songs from creation, the audience was crying for us (the pictures) again. So we where better and blow creation away... and we where 17.
@waaahnnn yeah what band were you in if you're so proud of that? I think the creation would've kicked your asses back then judging by their performance on the show beat beat beat which is on youtube.

brill band!,just like the action they should have been BIG,a hell of a lot of luck involved in making it and the action and creation names pop up with regularity as mod-r&b bands that should have made it!.
There were at least a dozen British 60 s bands who deserved a lot more recognition and success than they got,and this lot are probably at the head of the queue. They captured that 66/67 mod/pop art becoming pyschedelia period perfectly. They had the look/stage act/sound but never had a hit!not one!.Why they have only become the legends they deserve to be in retrospect is beyond me.
Jimmy Page copied Eddie Phillips playing guitar with a violin bow,but to call Page and Plant "The greats imposters"...I think you're going too far...Led Zeppelin kept the path opened by bands like Yardbird,The Creation and Small Faces but the Rolling Stones also copied to Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson, the Beatles copied Elvis and Little Richard ... that's not important, what matters is what they brought to the music..and it was great.
@hekfreedom I don't think it's going too far. LZ did steal songs from people and take 100 percent credit for which the other bands you mentioned did not do.
Mickmitchell,I think Mr Weller and co were largely more responsible for the mod revival than Boney M,but then you never know, makes me chuckle to think about it.
Sorry if this sounds very uncool but didnt Boney M or somesuch do a cover of this, surely they werent responsible for spearheading the late 70s mod revival.
the lead was john ryan who is still alive today in the origanal band john stays with us in a home and remembers everything he teaches me on the guitar and still has the guitar he played with.
I feel bad for the lead singer ... he looks like he's having a hard time stuck in that swing with the smoke bomb. Kind of a Spinal Tap moment when that smoke starts spewing in his face.
The lead singer in the Smoke used to be in a local band who were support act to virtually e very band who came to town in 1964, the Stones included. Great singer who was often better than the bans they were supporting. I am the proud owner of one of the only 75 copies they made as a momento when they split up.
Maybe Mick Rowley reads on here. He is still remembered in these parts. His old lead guitarist was in Robert Palmer's first band, The Mandrakes.
Fuckin Crap this was done by a New Zealand Band called...Larrys Rebels...released 1966 in New Zealand Painter Man and also this version is shit compared to the Kiwi version I still have the old LP 33rpm record of it today 2007.
These guys had the good sense to steal from Ray and Dave.
