  • i've only run campains in boring (but artfully done) 2D with a few figureines ontop. Even so our DM is a natural. On our first time playing our DM ad-libed the entire thing and it turned out AMAZING!

  • @Dstroyon A good DM makes all the difference. The terrain is just an added bonus. It all starts with the story and prep. Be sure to thank your game master once in a while. Those kind words always feel good.

  • @bensrpgpile2 Last year was our groups first time, our DM is great. He was great giving us a great first campaign. And now this year we got a white game board so it will be fun!

  • @MRdaBakkle I've seen a lot of Twit pics of people using white boards in their game. Darn cool concept but alas, I just don't have the walls where we play to pull that off.

  • The floor tile looks like it was molded from a waffle iron...

    COOL!

  • @Spriggs877 Heh - no waffle irons were hurt during the production of this video:) The detail in the molds is actually really amazing.

  • where do you get that terrian mold?

  • @harvey6994 The molds are from HirstArts[dot]com. You will love his stuff and the great RPG community there.

  • cool vid, interesting skill there.

  • @woodwwad Thanks - every game needs a good jail cell (eventually). :)

  • I have never played a campaign with actual terrain. I normally just run with a dungeon in my head. Does this cost a lot? If it does is it worth the cost as far as what it adds to a campaign?

  • @cptlulz Like any hobby, the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. Still, I think for less than $200 for starters, you can be well on your way.

  • I WANT TO GAME! :D

  • @omaman92 Amen to that. Gaming = goodness.

  • I feel like such a nerd, but this is awesome.

  • @zbarz789 Thanks! Jail cells are the "Stairway to Heaven" of the terrain world:)

  • where did you get the molds?

  • @Aiedail506 The molds are from Hirst Arts. A quick Google search will break them right up. Great guy (Bruce Hirst), great community and a great company.

  • @bensrpgpile2 thanks man, what floor tile did you use?? which template?

  • @Aiedail506 I use the crack floor tile mold (#203) for nearly all my dungeon floors. It's a beauty.

  • GReat vid! Im at the inn all the time!

  • where can i get those molding tubes thing, and what did you use for molding? the website you provided I some how can't find it.

  • @edvill82 Hmmm not sure what "tube things" means? Hirst Arts has all the molds we purchased and utilized in our vidoes. The website will come up at the top on any web search (Sorry, I can't post URLs in comments).

  • @bensrpgpile2 LOL. forget about that "tube things" lol. and yes, thanks for the reply. so that website sells molds right?

  • @edvill82 :) All the molds that we use can be purchased at Hirst Arts' website. Easy find off of the InterGoogle:)

  • what do you use for the mould fill ?????

  • @spudmanchronic I use Hydrocal 105 as my magic white powder but I hear that Hydrostone also works well. If you Google either terms, you will find lots of online ordering options. I bet you can find a local option too though.

  • the npc cards are great!

  • @lemontree011 Aren't those fun? I've made some new templates. I should have those for download on our site late this week. I like the cards because it adds a visual reminder for the story. I don't have the greatest member and we only play about once a month. The pictures are easier to remember:)

  • @bensrpgpile2 Please do it would be of great help! I might try the cards because we get side tracked very easily and would be great to keep us on track, besides pictures are always fun to look at :)

  • @lemontree011 I added a new sheet of NPC cards (PSD and PDF versions) in a zip file. You can download them on our site Download page ("NPC Tracker Card Templates"). We update that file as we create new ones. Enjoy:)

  • @lemontree011

    Thank you very much <3

  • Thanks for the kind words. We really set out to make pieces with multiple uses (or at least some of the parts - the cell doors is a good example). One-offs are killers as a creator spends all this time only to see it on a game table once in its lifetime. That stings too much:)

  • Great scene!!! Love it. I like the diorama aspect of it but also can be used in other settings too. Nice job.
