  • I watch this scene to the end of the movie every single morning when I get ready for school. It never gets old. Each time, I feel that burst of relief when Arnold's hand brushes Ellie's shoulder and that horror when she realizes it's dismembered from his body. And I always have to stop when Tim gets electrocuted, just to make sure Alan saves him...

I wish other people my age watched films like this and understood what movie magic is really all about.

  • Can anyone tell me what the "primer handle" is supposed to do in reality? I've seen a lot of HV electrical stuff, and I've never heard of using such a thing to "get the charge". Any electrical engineers out there, can you clarify?

  • @FelixLionheart01 There are a lot of scientific and practical errors in this movie. It's supposed to be a fun action movie with dinosaurs, not a documentary that's 100% accurate.

  • @FelixLionheart01 This movie is almost 2 decades old (just shy by 3 years) if there was ever such a thing as a "primer handle" it sounds like it would only be used after a system wide failure on a big generator to at least get enough of an electrical current going to turn on the circuit breaker box.

  • Does anyone else think this film should be rated R when we see the severed arm of Mr. Arnold on-screen? Still, "The Lost World" is gorier than this one.

  • let this fucking kid die

  • 2:07 WE'RE HERE FOR THE PARTEH EVERYONE :D

  • If Velociraptors are in business, what will the Troodons do if they're not busy? The quarantine pens don't seem to be necessary, either...

  • @KingDiamondHead no i m just wondering around here and i found something very dangerous like to get down there and i m very scared and i ll will hurt myself and my best friend tiffany farren said when you got down there and i ll be dead already

  • @barneytv1

  • @KingDiamondHead the raptors roars used to scare me

  • I always wondered where that arm came from?

  • @MJKsMagdalena It's thought to be Mr Arnold's (Samuel L. Jackson) arm, or otherwise it's just some black guy's arm.

  • @MrBlankBarcode Yeah, I figured it was his, it just seems to..fall from no where? Lol, I love that movie!

  • Good news he counted on 3 at least

  • The Entire Movie Theater Screamed when that raptor busted through those pipes, I have never heard any audience reaction quite like that until the Dark Knight, during the Joker's video threat.

  • @PKP405

Really? Was it intense and overwhelming? I was born in 1993 so I'm pretty sure my parents never went to see it lol

But I remember rewatching it almost every day starting when I was 3 years old lol Good times, good times :)

  • This movie made Velociraptors famous.

  • @ProximiaCentari which is sad. the fame should go to Deinonychus. in reality Velociraptor was only 3 feet in height or so, turkey sized while its Deinonychus whose the real badass thats human sized. and the one Raptor called the Big One is the size of a utahraptor.

  • I know this is not what Raptors really are supposed to be. But this movie was the reason why I loved Velociraptors as a Kid. and I rember as a Kid when I saw this in the theaters I was both Amazed and scared at the same time. Kids these days do not get classics like these due to all these Idiot parent groups not wanting their kids to experience such epicness

  • I always seem to rememebr there was a part in this scene where she is being chased and her torch gets caught. Anyone else remember that?

  • 1:47 Hahahahahha :DDD

  • I'm sick and tired of these motherfucking raptors on this motherfucking island. hold on to your asses. I'm going to get the power on and get the hell out of here. Now where is the fucking switch-(raptor kills him)

  • @ScrappySuper91 when i did that when i got scared

  • The velociraptors are always in business.

  • DAYUM NATURE, YOU SCARY.

  • Even as a 5 year old kid I knew Mr. Arnold's arm was fake...Still my favorite scene though! :D

  • lol she's so slow with the buttons I'd be using 4 fingers ... -_-

  • God damn it, I love those bloody raptors. If only they weren't always so hungry... and hostile... Aside from those parts, though, they're my favorite characters in the story of Jurrasic Park.

  • @heShadowedOne1

We also saw them hunt the hunter(I dont renember his name, something with M)

But still was not fully exposed, just a massive jaw and it ripping him apart, then the hunted one looking from the bushes.

  • @TheSephiroth5 Muldoon.

  • "GOOOOOD DAMN!!!" XD

  • 2:29 Dinner Time.

  • Ellie is a BABE! I LOVE HER!

  • lol 2:05. I should make that a picture and put "back in business context" XD

  • @MASTERTED94 *arm

  • whos arm was that. I never figured that out.

  • @Ikilluagainandagain Mr.Arnolds or Samuel Jacksons

  • they killed samuel jackson!!!!!!!!

  • My only question is why did that hand fall on her shoulder in the first place?

  • @PizzaInside mr arnolds arm was on top of that thing that ellie backed into. and when she moved back into it the arm fell off on her shoulder.

  • @FIRSTJAY is it wrong I lol at ellies face when she sees the arm?

  • that kid almost died

  • At around 2:08 she is thinking."Damn it why didn't they give me a gun!

  • Jurassic Park is my favorite film of all time. I've watched it more than any other movie in my entire life. And if I recall 2:05 used to always scare the shit out of me. I also believe that's the first time we've ever seen the Raptors on screen right?

  • @TheShadowedOne1 in one scene of the movie we see a baby raptor come out an egg. but yeah you are right when ellie gets attacked by a raptor that is the first time we see a very big scary raptor :)

  • @frogdogcat22 Yeah, I bet the audience in '93 really shit their pants when the Raptor popped out there. I have a question, though. How did it get into the powerhouse? Or how did it get behind those bars? It's kind of bothered me.

  • @TheShadowedOne1 raptors know how to open doors, the raptor must have saw mr arnold going inside the powerhouse, and when mr arnold went inside the powerhouse the raptor opend the door and then followed behind him and then killed him. it's creepy when ellie goes inside the powerhouse on her own while walking around down there in the dark, because she don't know that there is a scary and dangerous thing down there with her.

  • @frogdogcat22 yeah its bothering me and he used to scar me when i got down in the basment it was to scare something dangerous with my sister but she is in her room sleeping and my mom is rubs her eye or instead of getting up and pulls the cover all over her head to block the noise and magan s room is near by the laundry room and my dad no movement at all and watch brittany she rubs her eyes or she is copying my mom s movement at twentysix

  • @TheShadowedOne1 No we, see them in the beginning, you just see them here in full exposure.

  • @Ghost501090 Exactly. I love how they kept them in the shadows until this perfect jump moment.

  • @TheShadowedOne1 On screen, I think. We 'see' them earlier before all hell breaks loose, but they're in thier pen and not openly visible.

  • @TheShadowedOne1 Yeah, classic spielberg - the Jaws effect - we see plenty of references to them throughout the movie so we have to make up our own minds as to what these things are - then one jumps out at you. It's brilliant.

  • @TheShadowedOne1 no, you can see them them in the beginning, when they hatch the baby raptor and when they feed the raptors with the cow, though not fullscreen

  • @Ienstien965 I KNOW. I have probably seen this movie more times than anyone here who are commenting. I just meant by my comment that we see the full, grown adult raptors for the first time in full light.

  • @TheShadowedOne1 No the 1st time the raptor were shown was when one killed the hunter and he said clever girl (^:

  • @jos19885 No, this scene is before "Clever Girl"

  • @TheShadowedOne1 yep and it was a perfect way to show them for the first time. Note: thats actually a Deinonychus, not a Velociraptor. In reality, velociraptor is only 2-3 feet in height, turkey sized. Why they misnamed it idk.

  • @TheShadowedOne1 holy crap i never noticed that. now that i think about it its like the shark in jaws, how you never saw them but you saw the damage they were causing. its like a spielberg tradition

  • On a side note I think I'm going to watch Jurassic park later.

  • @oldannyboy37 well i m going to watch juarssic park later at 10;00

  • I remember watching this as a kid and being like, "Jump you little idiot! You're gonna get zapped!".

  • Laura Dern overacts so freakin' much in this scene

  • @Senorgusanos How would you have reacted? I mean yeah we say that they overreact and what not, but If im not mistaken, the directors and producers of the movie probably told her to act that way. Just saying.

  • @AngelaBieber101 She is limping because she was pushing the metal gate closed while the raptor was pushing it from the other side. Must have sustained an injury during the struggle. (makes sense as the raptor is pretty powerful)

  • @LJGB1 there was no struggle between them ellie closed the gate all the way easily with her feet, the raptor didn't even get a chance to push at the gate when ellie put her feet on the gate because she pushed it shut fast. she just pulled a very bad mussle in one of her legs because the raptor was sat on the gate as she pushed it shut, the weight of that raptor sat on the gate would be strong.

  • @frogdogcat22 Well okay not a 'struggle' as such, but that's what I meant. I agree.

  • mr arnold at 2:24 is the best part of the movie, his name should have been mr ARMold though! lol

  • @DH61092 I always thought that too lol

  • @DH61092 Damn, I was just about to make that joke before I saw this comment

  • @DH61092 My Aunt Jana s raptor roars used to scare me i cant help it
