right i know what the problem with this console is, it is a GPU failiure where its GPU has dismounted from the mother board and the soldering that held it on has melted slightly, you need to open it up get to the gpu and resolder the gpu backinto place propperly, it will look normal when u open it but trust me, ITS NOT!

Running it on AV: Unplug the AV Cables and the power plug. plug them back in while your tv is off. Turn it on and it will work.

Running it on HDMI: Turn your TV off and remove the HDMI cable. Replace it with AV Cables then turn your tv on. Turn on the PS3 and turn it off. Put your HDMI cables back on.

m8 its something to do with overheating by the way my brother bought a little stand not a table or anything like that just like a stand and i put my ps3 there a bit high from the ground so buy a little stand or something and try and put it there WHEN YOU FIX IT :)

Not sure if u have solved it yet. but unplug it then plug the power cord back into it. if u still have the problem, try taking the HDD out and plugging it into a computer to see if the HDD has errors on it. i had this same problem. One time i had to buy a new HDD and it fixed the problem. Another time i just had to hold down the power button.

This means the system has a hardware faliure this faliure in perticular is a problem with your GPU ( Grapics proccessing unit) you bascically need to resolder the gpu back and no I'm not talking about the CPU cause that would be a yellow light of death

That sucks. My phat ps3 has a blinking green light and a 10 beeps problem, but only after I shut it down. Other than that it works perfectly fine thanks to your YLOD fix vid. I hope you find a fix and post it here for future reference. Only thing I can think is a loose or burnt-out wire.
