what people dont realize that turbo efficiency drops off at high rpms, meaning you would move quicker by shifting early and getting back into the power band. i know my t25 falls on its face at 6k, 14b is a little bit better at holding power till redline. if you have never owned a turbo car, save yourself the keyboard clicks and go to google and learn something.
not bad shift higher an i think you will have lots more fun with it :) altho if you love yours like i love mine you prolly wont just cause dont want to blow it up lol
Ahh, this was bound to happen. Your ignorance does you no good sir. It does not help your credibility either. I know Camaros can be quick, i also know know that pieces of trash like yourself love to talk shit, and it hasn't convinced me to buy a slower car yet. Oh well, to each his own. Enjoy a Nascar race for me bud!
you have no idea. it is actually the most technically advanced sport on the face of the earth and the second biggest sport in the world and it has more companies working for it than any other sport.
what are you on about you have no idea what you are talking about at all..... nothing is harder then F1 that sounds like something a 5 year old would say.
go watch your f1 race with 4 over takes in the whole racce. cause its harderr LOL. you absolute idiotic fool i feel sorry for you.
@Asifyoudidthat so if your a moaster how old do you sound? you proved my point exactly only four over takes a race and if you want to win youd better be in one of those cars.
why do people get so offended on youtube as if I were trashing there religion if you felt sorry for me you would have kept your foolish moth shut but you opened it now we all know hoe dumb you are
I'll throw in my useless thoughts, just for fun. Why is JP Montoya, a winning F1 driver, currently at #21 in the Sprint Cup standings? I expected him to better, seeing as he came from F1, where it is 'harder' lol! To me, a turn is a turn, you still have to find the fastest way around it! Left, right, I'm not sure it really matters... I'd do alot of things just to jump in any racecar, but I'd rather try rally if I had the choice :P
some buicks not all good luck finding one my buick grand national hase a stock turbocharger pulls off 350 - 400 horse man come line nyhting up against me
if the car has a piggyback ecu, the tach in the 90's tend not to work unless you buy a small chip that you have to solder in place of something on your actual ecu, and mattratf, the car is too fast to be on a stock ecu, which means no fuel cut dumbass. my only suggestion gsxforme, is if your engine does not have internals, try to stick to 18lbs, as recomended straight from tim switzer of switzer performance innovation. on a 90 21 lbs is really agressive if its not built
@lukesimianer you can spend all that money on a car thats gutless rather then put it to use and buy something that actually has ballz?...not a diss lol im just seriously curious about this one..
@SWATKIID becaus eit doesnt take much more than money to build a fucking cookie cutter ass mustang with a "ballsy" v8 haha but build an eclipse or srt 4/6/even 8 or just a car thats not often fast and it will be cool because its individual.
were you even bringin the revs up? doesnt look like u were shiftin even close to redline, i think with a lil more pressure on the gas pedal you'll gain a second or 2
@gsxforme okay, stop lying. everyone has heard an annoying honda drive by ripping through gears, you were no where NEAR 7k rpm shift, i can tell by the tone of the engine. and don't say that you refuse to shift past your "torque band" or "power band".
2 cars, exactly the same, driven by the same person (06 nissan sentra spec-v ser), 1 shifts at redline the other shifts at "peak power". peak power ran a 15.5 the redline ran 14.5. that's 1 hole second. learn how to race.....
@bastec666 damn i guess drag racers everywhere have been doing it wrong for years. common knowledge that you shift just after peak power. put up a link to that nissan race. id like to see that because i think you have it reversed there bud. that is exactly why most people cant run the advertised time of their car, because they have no clue where to shift and just redline the hell out of it.
@nallen100 isn't a shitty youtube video its real life drag strip at the maryland international raceway. my friend kyle had one and my other friend mike had one, they both ran. kyle refuses to rev to redline and he ran 15.5 and couldn't break it, yet mike ran it to redline and ran 14.5. they both have their slips, like it or not, your a fucking idiot. keep shifting at your peak power, your gonna get destroyed over and over. get a car and see for yourself instead of playing games.
@bastec666 give me a break. so you two knuckle heads race each other and think thats how it should be done??? do either of you know where to shift in the first place? maybe that car made max power close to redline. You really can claim everycar should shift at redline because you two raced a couple slow ass nissans against each other? you dont think it had more to do with each driver. what were your 60ft times? 1/8? trap speeds? that will tell the real story. your ignorance is amazing
@nallen100 what can't you fucking get? I wasn't in the race. I was just there. At the time I owned a del sol and now I own a s2k. Driver isn't a factor. I can get in my car right now and shift at peak power vs redline and my redline time will ALWAYS be a faster time. You need to get in a car, right now, and go out an drive. Shift your little dsm at peak power and time yourself. Then go back again and shift at redline, I guarantee your redline time is faster.
@bastec666 i have and know many people that have picked up over .5 second by lowering there shift points on lightly modified cars. again your entire opinion is based off two cars that you watched run once? rofl. ive been running cars for a long time. my dad runs a duster that runs 6 flats in the 1/8. ive been around it my whole life. your an ignorant ricer who clearly has absolutely no knowledge of anything automotive related. this isnt a point you can argue. its common knowledge amongst racers
@bastec666 just try to do a little research, wiki, or the many many car forums. every single one of them, no matter a high reving honda or trq monster big blocks will all tell you the exact same thing. i think maybe next time you head to the track, try asking the drivers about their shifting habits. looks it up and let me know what you find :)
@bastec666 get a car?? rofl how about you man, 14.5 id be embarrassed to run that at the track. my dsm would rock you so bad. ran a 12.5 four years ago on a 16g and safc at milan.what sense does it make to rev a car to 8k when it quit making power at 6? can you answer that? man you need to read a book or something. its obvious you have no actual knowledge of how a motor works, so what facts do you have to base your opinion off of? keep the rice off the track until you learn how shit works
@nallen100 okay 14.5 is a stock nissan spec-v plus I don't even own one, they were friends cars
what good does reving to redline do? lets say your "power band" is 5k to 7k and your motor revs to 8.5. if you rev to 7k, you going to drop BELOW your power band, which takes longer to get back into then already jumping into it. So when I "over rev" as you seem to think people do, the very next gear is ALREADY in the power band, making max power instantly, instead of going through the slower route.
@nallen100 have you ever been to a professional drag race? try talking to people, they rev the fuck out of those monsters, you just don't realize it because some aren't high reving imports. uneducated people such as yourself who "know everything" actually don't have a clue. your the kind of guy in a cobalt who pulls up next to a beat up 240 and gets his ass raped by someone who knows not only how to drive but how to tune their car. you can try to be bad ass all you want, its the internet....
@tmac4t4 I'm sure you've learned this by now, but incase you haven't learned yet; redline/rev-limiter is not a shift point, anything past about 6500 is fruitless for the stock 1g's
dont trust the stock boost guage. its not a "real" boost guage because its not reading boost at all. its just a guess by the ecu judged by the airflow the maf sees. its not accurate at all.
that wasnt launched. you would do even less if you launch it right but i dont know if its the AWD model.. but pretty nice. i cant take my car's time cause the speedometer is borken damn it.
I had a 91 tsi fwd, i can tell you that isnt stock...Be probably has an exhaust system on it eg it could be a cat-back, or mabe a turbo back exhaust. He probably has a larger turbo aswell like a 16g, running a bit higher boost...via a boost controller either manual or electronic...
hey, i know nothing about cars, and i just recently got a '90 eagle talon awd tsi, and im wondering, did you do anything to the car or is it still stock? and if you did something what'd you do? im trying to learn and understand all this stuff so i can get better at it thanks!

Seems to be a stock care based on the numbers to 60 (about 6 seconds according to the clock).
Gotta keep in mind the car is 20 years old too. Probably has more than a few miles on it.
Stock cams or not, you should be shifting a bit later and going through 60mph in 2nd gear.
