Night in the City? I'll say! La Noir on the rise... Wow! Ar you hip to how many distinguished poets inhabit this video? Robert Polito and Suzzanne Lummis (who masterminded the entire 25 event NoirFest) being chief among them. What an evening! Song, luscious language, film...an extremely NOIR time was had by all! Fedoras off to Penelope Torribio for a truly swell document of the festivities.
What a fantastic photo essay! Love the characters; love the black & white. It’s elegant, edgy, dreamy--all the best facets of literary noir. Night and the City, was lucky to have Penelope Torribio as videographer! Brava! Happily, there are many more noir events coming up in the next few weeks. Hopefully, Penelope will be on hand to record them. It’s all so noir, so fun, so addictive!
Gorgeous work from Penelope Torribio. Finally, poets get to look mysterious and sexy! (We ARE mysterious and sexy but one can't always tell by looking.) For those of you wondering, 'Whaa....?' This is the opening night of the 25 event series "Night and the City: L.A. Noir" presented by The Los Angeles Poetry Festival with Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center. As of this date, 10/17/11, twenty four more events will be coming up, through Nov. 13.
