You know, honestly, this reminds me of 'They Live' as well as the original V series. The "gratitude can morph into worship" bit and "they gain trust with the promise of friendship, when all they're really doing is positioning themselves as the saviours of mankind." A few other bits too.

yes... I was alive and remember it well. Special effects will seem lame compare to nowadays but the original is probably still better than this remake.

HUGE fan of the original. This looks as though he could actually be a good revision. I may be happier that they went this route rather than continuing the series as though it were actually 25 years later as the new novel has done.
