@purpleownz176 I think that's a stigma that a lot of players have to get over. Going to tournaments is fun! I've entered into three locals so far and haven't gotten past round 3, but I still have so much fun with friendlies, watching matches, listening to advice from better players, and just overall being part of a fun, hyped community.

Brawl takes less skill, there is no wave dashing, L canceling, so combos are reduced, mind games are reduced. the game was simplified. You can grab the ledge from a greater range and does not matter if you are actually facing it properly. Also the game implements random trips. The game was simplified.

The game was simplified. The trips were added so people could get hits in. Say you have someone in a combo, but the game makes you trip. you did nothing wrong, BUT the opponent who was getting owned can hit you. You got punished for nothing. There is not "more mind games" there ARE mind games yes, but Melee has more.

Yeah, it can help you. But I don't like that. I don't want a game to HELP me like that. If I'm fucking up, I should get punished for fucking up. But brawl will punish you for doing NOTHING wrong. I never said it does not have combos, i said it has LESS combos, Melee had L canceling which was not intended but allowed combos not even thought of by Nintendo. Brawl has stock combos and thats it.

Actually, L canceling WAS intended. The N64 Smash Bros had z-canceling. Same thing, different button.

was a glitch as well. The game triggers a fast shield which cancels the ending animation. Was not intended, that is why it's not in brawl.

it's not in the manual. They physics engine was carried over, weight was added, and air dodge was added. this is why when you air dodge while holding down/forward you can wave dash. Show me a source that shows L canceling in Brawl. Until you have a source, all you're saying is a rumor.
