The best thing about the AC130 was loading people up onto the top, and then doing tricks rolling it. You could wander all sorts of places... I used to have screenshots of my walking by the gun ports and underneath the wing by the engines.

Just goes to show that graphics don't make a game good, its about how the game plays, and back when this was popular, you could play online with 64 players, flawlessly and have a awesome time. Now its all about achievements, DLC and new map packs. Gaming used to be so much simpler and cheaper.

@tnartey You should be able to get BF1942 for next to nothing now, but getting the mod to work isn't just a single download, I think its 4 or 5 in total, which have to be installed in a set order.

I went online a few weeks back and only found a few actually populated servers, the rest were just full of Bots which are no fun.

@Galaxygamestorm You probably need the newest patch, which is 1.6 and 1.61. Also, use Patchswitcher to switch between these two patches. If that doesn't work, try removing all your server filters on the right of the server menu. The servers in grey are different patches, while yellow indicates your patch, and white indicates a favorite server. Hope this helps! See you on the battlefield, soldier!

Ahh, good old BF1942 :).. To take a look at that 2002 game and a game like BC2 just makes me sad.. Nothing beats the good ol' big maps with planes and all that, but thanks to consoles we are now stuck with shit games like BC2 that are merely a bit extended version of COD, because the developers rather think about making money on console games rather than making good games for PC :(.

@MyDoominateR Uh BC2 was good. It's one of those game that courages teamwork and squad play. Many people say destruction was bad for the BattleField series but having exagerrated destruction is better than not having one. On CoD shoot RPGs at a house 10 times and it nothing happends.

Thanks for all the comments people, i miss that game so much, had lots of fun with that, especially when i was in a chopper, Boy could i do some crazy shit with them. (Littlebird and Apache) I remember on Lost Village, i used to fly the Blackhawk down the streets below the rooftops while my two gunners were ripping the enemy to shreds, everyone was looking up for the chopper only for them to see it as i ran them over lol

As the pilot, all you can do is fly it, however pressing your primary fire button rotates your view 90 degrees to the left, so that you can see what your gunners can see, and adjust the angle of your flight to allow them to see targets. Basically you just fly in circles with the left side of your plane aiming towards the ground while your gunners pick off anything that moves.

This is battlefield 1942, with the expansion pack - Desert Combat. Gamespot gave the game 8.8 out of 10, IGN gave it 9.3 out of 10, and has an average review rating of 89%

This game was released in 2002.. so really, looking at it now, compared to modern games, it was really pioneering.

Yea,back in the days id go on a ramming tour with my AC-130.

Before take-off i allways shut the reardoor.

Take-off,just ram any tank or arty and fly on,wingtip a Chopper,fly up n slow down,so the Mig or Frogfoot crashes into the plane.

But then they patched it....,but still a bad mother ,specially if she's fully loaded with gunners.

I also allways tried,and many times succeeded in bombin the AC-130 midair with the Frogfoot.

DC was and still is 10 times better than BF2.
