  • Hey!!! AMAZING!

  • A marvelous performance...especially at 2:43 in the morning! :)

  • you should add the 9th-s but that's my opinion. btw nice video

  • If I were playing with a group I would be a bit more fancy, but as a solo piece, it is hard to get all of the harmonies together and still keep it rhythmic. Too soupy for solo, and it confuses the ear, as to where the melody is, that is if you are talking about adding the 6 and the 9 together like I think you are.

It sounds very nice, and I know what you mean. It sounds better with a bass behind you, or a piano. Solo guitar always sounds weak on this tune for me.

I already have enough going on

  • The Girl from Ipanema is not just a tune/song to me. When I hear it if floods childhood dream memories with me...i LOVE it

I have heard several teeachers online try and do it, but yours has the feeling of it...especially that percussive ness you also give to it. GREAT!

  • Excellent!

  • Thanks.

  • Rob: Another GREAT post. Foobles, as your doctor I gotta say watch that liver, ya clown.

  • I drink to live. I eat to survive. I occasionally give my liver a break now and then...

  • fantastic rendition! I have to give a big Homer Simpson DOH! when it freezes at the end though.

  • An all time favorite of mine and OF COURSE you perform it amazingly :)

  • f#maj7?

  • Hey Rob...juiced again...still love this tune...dammit too dark...can't figgure out your chord patterns...don't worry I'll get it someday...

  • Foobles, I'll make a special daytime version just for you with a slow motion look at the chords.

  • Why is it when I'm drinking I like to listen to Girl from Ipanema? I must come to the realization that I'm not in my 20's anymore...got another headache.

  • @robbourassaguitarist I'd like the chord voicings at :46 and :52 approximately.

Your version sounds full from a rhythmic perspective because your right hand strumming and tap keeps you in the jam :) and thats what I'm learning to improve overall in my playing.

  • Hungover today...Foobles.

  • I love this tune...Robbourmania!!!

  • Really nice playing and great feel, I do think it would sound much beter on a nylon string guitar though.

  • Yeah, I know. It would sound more traditional. I wasn't going for the nylon string, soft vibe. I wanted to make a percussive slap in the background and the steel string works better for that. I do like to hear it played traditionally though.

  • Robbourassaquitarist...as far as I'm concerned you are the greatest...and you reply with your comments unlike Beatle Paul...Iam watching your chord patterns closely...in hopes to advance my musical skills.

  • Foobles;

Thanks so much. I'm probably not as busy as the big guys. I don't have as many people to return comments to. I would imagine that they could spend 12 hours a day doing nothing else, and still not get it covered.

  • Thank you very much.

  • just fantastic!

  • The cheap DVD cut off. Oh well, sorry.
