My fav Pho place is in Rossyln VA. I miss it so badly, I remember sitting in the benches not unlike Anthony there just twittering and shaking like a crack head waiting for my bowl. 5 minutes was too long enough some times. Then it arrived, and then a nuclear bomb could explode outside and I wouldn't even notice. God I love good Pho.

I'm from Melbourne Australia and the pho we have here is amazing. Perfect amount of broth, slippery noodles, spring onions, Thai basil.. Fresh beef and of course the chilli paste and lemon on top it just doesn't get better than going to the Vietnamese noodle shop, ordering a $7 bowl of pho and have it arrive 2 minutes later smelling wonderful. This episode makes me really really want to go to Vietnam and try it out over there. I imagine there would be tons of different versions. Yum!

You never know where you'll run into a gem. I had Pho in Pennsylvania that was the best I've ever had, and I've had it all over the world. The difference of course being that was a rare fluke, while in Vietnam (and maybe Australia too) it's the norm.

A Vietnamese friend once told me that the pitch of your voice goes up at the end of the word, though just a regular 'fuh' will get you through.
