  • what treats did you use to train him? i cant find anything that my fischer love bird likes...., any ideas would be great!

  • Please don't rush into getting lovebirds (or any bird) as a pet. It takes a lot of time and care to make them this happy with you. They can become depressed very easily from boredom and loneliness if

    neglected.

I got 2 male lovebirds when I was 15 and did not think it through. I spend at least an hour a day with each of them, but sometimes that's not enough as they always want more. Please don't get a bird unless you can provide the care they deserve.

Birds are meant to be free, not caged

  • This is amazing!! We getting a lovebird today for my two little boys and its a baby and I'm hoping to train him/her just like this!!!

  • I heard lovebirds like to be handed if it's only one of them cause if it's 2 of them they prefer each others company.. Is this true?

  • con que comida puedo intentar enseñar a mi lovebird? ty very much girl.

  • Alriiiiiight .. haha

  • Well done! My lovebirds bloody hate me!!!!!!!!!!

  • I didn't like this video.... I LOVE IT! I can't believe that they can do that! I have 5 eye ring lovebirds. Do you think that they can learn that or just the peach face. I heard that the peach face are more friendly.

  • Awesome video and adorable Lovie! Lovebirds are amazing. I've had my little baby Meeps for about a month or so now; she's four months old. I love training her. Hope your little Tico lives a long and healthy life! :)

  • what kind of treats are you using?

  • great job. that's fun to watch. could you tell me how noisy your lovebird is. does it chirp all the time, mostly mornings etc or is it fairly quiet?

  • How do you know he is a boy? How old was he when you got him? Was he hand fed... hard to tame at first?

  • @llnnssccify The breeder told me he was a boy. Not sure if she got his blood tested but i'm assuming he's a boy.

Yes he was handfed and yes, I do believe he was pretty skittish when I first got him. You just need to be patient and sped time with them. Too many people get frustrated after a couple days and give up.

  • @theFoxCrit OK great. I'm in process of getting one. Waiting for a breeder to have a little one. Most seems a bit older. How long did it take you to get to this level with him. Does he ever bite or nip you. Can they really hurt your skin?

  • @theFoxCrit What do you give your lovebird as a treat?

  • @llnnssccify You can usually tell the sex by their gait/stance... Birds that stand with their feet widespread are usually female while males have a narrow stance. Im assuming it has to do with the way their pelvic bones are structured for birth. (obviously males dont give birth)

  • I have a male parakeet... The female jus died... Will a lovebird nd my meet be nice 2 eachother

  • parakeet? i dont get it

  • i have a question please answer me:

Can we do all the tricks that TICO do with a parakeet?

    please answer me.

ps sorry for my bad english but im portuguese not american/english :D

  • sooooooooo smart and cute bird !

  • I have a lovebird just like that one and I want to get him or her a bird does it mater if it's a male or female? For that mater how can you tell by color???

  • How do I know hwta type of lovebird mine is? It has 1 blue spots on each cheek. Can you please tell me what type of lovebird it that? :)

  • @Philiptan100 it might not be a lovebird..i'm not sure. i'd have to see a picture.

  • @theFoxCrit OK, nvm, cause I just found out it was a 'broad-tailed parrot' :)))

  • what kind of treats are you giving him? my lovebird seems more interested in me than in food...

  • I like the "goood boy"

    Keep it up. Awesome bird

  • i love this video"" Such a sweet and cute team! :) i'll definetely subscribe!

  • Neat bird tricks. Negative people suck. This is a young girl, under 18, using positive reinforcement saying "good boy" and that triggers hostility?

  • cute awsomeness !!

  • I have 3 lovebirds and I've had them for a month and they are over 2-3 years old. Can I train them, will it take a really long time. And when ever i go near them they don't run away or 'fly' but when I take my hands behind my bake they fly really far when I bring it close to them. I let them out daily and they go back in to their cage. They only take a dump everywhere around my house! btw: 2 female 1 male(5 years old)

  • Very impressive! I have 2 lovebirds and I can't wait to start teaching them tricks.

What kind of treats were you giving your bird?

  • You are an amazing young lady!! Great job with Tico, he is so very loved and it shows! I have 11 parrots myself!

  • I hate that "GOOOD BOOOOY".

  • @scrotopowa lmfao me too xD

  • @scrotopowa

Then leave the video if you're going show antipathic behavior towards a girl sharing her birds tricks, aka Grow up

  • @scrotopowa You are easily angered - a young girl saying "good boy" to her parrot bothers you? It is easy to criticize but it takes time and effort to train a bird. Kudos to her. Boo to you.

  • Sweet kid, neat bird tricks. Kudos to her and boo to you for your nasty feedback.

  • pets respond to lovey koo's and kah's like children. im not sure why but theres a study on it.

  • How can I teach my lovebird to do those tricks ??

  • @crazypencil100 wow your lovebirds sound like they're in an amazing home..........................

  • @theFoxCrit we take care of the fuckers evereday feed them nurture them BUT NOOOOOO they repay us with bieng dicks to us AND THERE SO LOUD!!!!!

  • @crazypencil100 If their new you just have to grab them more, feed them with your hand and they will be as nice as the one in the video. i know because mine usto b like that exactly, but idk how but ive made him b nicer.

  • I am thinking of getting lovebirds. I see you have only one. If you had two would it be easy to train them both? I have read that having one bird is easier to bond with then two. hmm Great video though.

  • @reezdog Lovebirds don't always bond with their cage buddies (lovebirds are fairly territorial), but when they do, it is strong, monogamous, and doesn't have room for human bonding. When I left for college, I was thinking of getting a buddy for my lovebird, but apparently finding another lovebird with whom he could bond could have taken a while.

  • awesome!

  • he's like "YOU spilled them. YOU pick it up! im eating" haha

  • wow! GREAT job XD this is sooo cool

  • My lovebird can say go fuck yourself

  • Haha..wow...its very impressive. My girl is very agressive so ya..i can't even touch her.):

  • PLz Plz can u tell me how 2 teach my bird these tricks

  • Tico is VERY cute! You're an amazing trainer, obviously!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • How long does it take for lovebirds to get use to people because i brought 2 today and they are extremely terrified of me

  • @HMCars10 I'm not a bird expert, but I just finished reading somewhere that if you buy two birdies, they will prefer spending time with each other as opposed to having only one and getting used to being with you. I am a bit in a toss up, as I think keeping one for the sole purpose of being friendly with you and trainable to do tricks/mimic speech is selfish, instead of buying it a companion to spend time with while you're not with it or at home.

  • @tseekr379 1 is very shy and the other one is starting to get use to me but still scared. Plus one is a male and 1 is a female

  • what do you feed him if he does good??

  • I loved your lovebird tricks can you please make a video about how you taugh your cute lovebird those tricks

  • can you please explain how you taught your baby? Or make a video on i t?please!!!

  • @Smallworldsguy

The first trick you should teach any bird is "step up". this is when the bird steps up onto your finger. pretty easy actually.

the next one you vould try do is "shake" once you've mastered step up you can teach him to wave. its a bit hard to explain over type. would you like me to do a video on it? xx

  • Talented birdie! ^_^ I am getting one and it will be a clack masked lovebird, What would be the best starter trick?

  • do you clip his wings?

  • @crazyboy3921 they were clipped in this video but they're not at the moment.

  • @theFoxCrit clip his wings! I lost my baby one day because I let her wings grow out!!!! I had caught her before but not this time and now I don't have my beautiful Esteban any more

  • @theFoxCrit How often do you have to get them trimmed?

  • How long did it take you to train this bird to do all of these tricks?

  • You have a smart lovebird, but it is you that deserves all the credit! You are a wonderful teacher and I know how patient one has to be to teach animals tricks. Very well done! I really enjoyed it alot! Keep it up , you may have a career with animals!

  • HE IS SOOO SO SO SO ADORABLE!!

  • so smart.....what is this bird called......

  • i wish my lovebird didn't bite so i could train her. she is so aggressive sometimes. i know she loves me she just doesn't know that its wrong to bite :(

  • how many times you shod say (god boy)

  • i have a lovebird same color too but idk if its female or male and it bits me

  • my birds is 1 months but they afraid of me how long it take them to trust u

  • He is absolutely LOVELY!!!! :D

  • @Aeternally thank you!! :)

  • what do you feed him as a reward?

  • @Knowlidge safflower seeds.

  • i got a lovebird he is 2 months and i tought him these tricks and he does them!

  • @cartercar99 that's awesome! :)

  • @cartercar99 lucky i cant get my bird to even turn around :(

  • awwwww ur parrot is adorble

  • How did the love bird get its name?

  • that is so cool

  • How long did it take you to train him all these tricks?

  • oh my gosh i love your lovebird! im thinking of buying one but i was wondering if they bite :s

  • @chezzychels22

This depends, but don't buy one just because you think the lovebird's going to perform great tricks like tyco. There's a HUGE chance he may not, because it depends on both the lovebird and how much time, effort, and patience you are willing to five the lovebird.

By the way, yes, some bite, and some don't.

PLEASE JUST DON'T BUY A LOVEBIRD BECAUSE YOU THINK HE'S GOING TO DO SOME REALLY COOL TRICKS.

  • What do you give to him when he do a trick? I just want to know

  • My baby wants to be with me all the time and I can do just about anything to her and it doesn't worry her she gets lots of kisses. Funny she didn't like hands for a while but one day she just hopped onto my hand and the rest is history.

  • i thinking of getting quaker parrot or love bird what bird is better?

  • Wow. I just got these lovebirds beut they love eachother

  • can you teach me those tricks please

  • what are you using for treats?

  • sweet. my lovebird Lok-nar shakes hands and kisses. My dumb idiot pet store sold his mate so he was fused to me at all times since i got him. he keeps thinking i;ll leave. he gets up in the morning and sleeps on my back under my covers till i get up.

  • That is a very smart bird!!!
