  • that tour ....it was beging...bravo u2...pop the best album

  • apenas empesaban a calentar motores ..para esa gira....arriba u2...pop el mejor album

  • This was the first show of the Popmart tour...first time played live and only the 4th song of the night.....still working out the kinks....

  • is it just me or r they not playing a huge venue? it looks like it's a little shithole LOL

  • U2 baby!!! I love Bono, I want his kid lol

  • The song is very good, but they weren't inspired that day! I think they were not prepared to that concert!

  • The worst night of U2's greatest tour

  • @killer600000 The sound balances must have been all over the place on stage. The Edge fiddles round with his in-ear monitors during this and Bono does during other songs. Still, amazing how the hell this ended up on YouTube. I've never seen Bono stood still for an entire song! Think he realised early on it wasn't gonna be their night. Still, this is defo an under-rated song, they should revisit it.

  • Way better than the album version,I expected that from great band like U2!

  • Their image totally alienate me at this time, along with the songs, they just were not good however much time they had spent on it. Bono is still slim here though, pre hair transplant too.But he just doesnt suit shot hair.

  • This is painful to watch. It took the band much more time than expected to finish recording Pop. They had little time to get ready for the tour and these are the early results.

  • Fking desert dry hot air, did a job on Bono's voice here.

  • @supercooldude2121 A bit taped over.

  • everything that could go wrong did go wrong during this gig, but you know something? I love it! I'd rather attend it than any 360 tour concert and I don't care how many thumbs down I get for saying that

  • @mircea1910 what do you not like about 360? I'm not a fan of the claw, but I thought the show was overall pretty awesome

  • @patscollectible the claw isn't the problem, I like it, it's a groundbreaking piece of work

what I do not like is the show overall, particularly Bono, who became way too preachy lately; I believe that be talks more between songs than singing during them

  • @mircea1910 "he talks" not "be talks", sorry

  • 777

  • Needs another lead guitar but an awesome live version nonetheless. A vastly underrated song in U2's category

  • @mstephens44

Pop is an interesting album for me. It's one of the few times where U2's album versions I preferred over their live versions(at least the first half, Please was awesome live) they did on Popmart.

  • One of my favourite songs, unfortunately it doesn't work live - and they know it.

  • holy shit... bono almost died singing that last chorus, but the song it's great though!

  • 7 people are gay

  • The orange Adam Clayton's wearing is pimpin' awesome.

  • 4:22 do you feel..your voice??

  • Comment removed

  • My god, he looks like how he looks now

  • What's with the weird shirt Bono's wearing

  • I like the original recording waaayyy better!!!

  • is it just me or does edge just sound great in this

  • @jppjc SOUNDS PERFECT!!! NOT EVEN A MISTAKE.... MASTER OF MINIMALISM...!!!! GREAT SONG!

  • So beautiful.. " take the colours of my imagination take the scent hanging in the air take this tangle of a conversation and turn it into your own prayer with my fingers as you want them with my nails under your hide with my teeth at your back and my tongue to tell you the sweetest lies "
  • why did Pride start at the beginning? LoL

  • What is the name of the song that the play in the starting ?

  • @naad80 hello the name its "pride in the name of love."

  • I've never seen Bono so uncomfortable on stage. You can hear how messed up his voice is, too.

  • Uh-ha, sha la! :)

  • YEAH INTO DE GROOVE...

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

U2 IS THE BEST BAND OF THE WORLD of all times

  • I think it's lacking another guitar. Still killa though

  • that bass line is the bomb

  • @KC0462 the bomb diggity for sure!!! I really could listen to all their work with just instrumental and Edge's backing vocals and vocals. Instrumentally they are so great. Larry's live drumming on Vertigo tour was awesome. Credit to the sound engineers too.

  • allll these years l8r this still does it for me :D

  • LAAAAARGA VIDA PARA U2!!!

  • Suuuuuuuupppppppppeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I´m Czech

  • Toptrack

  • is wondering ...was "A Man and A Woman" the "continuation" song from Do You Feel Loved? What I mean is that U2 is known for continuing a song from a previous album.

  • @EWLGtoday Yahweh has a lot of lyrical similarities to this song.

  • @joeco1027

    surely:D

  • hijole mijo queeee culero cantaste!!! jajaja 4:27

  • IS this whole concert filmed with only one camera??

  • @ajaxrulzz - it does make it unique yet a bit annoying. Where was Hamish Hamilton back then! His directing of U2 concerts are the bomb diggity!

  • Amazing Just Amazing - Thanks - We have tons of U2 videos 2

  • dear god

  • With my fingers as you want them

With my nails under your hide

With my teeth at your back

And my tongue to tell you the sweetest lies.

la cancion mas sexy de u2

  • @suitbluesky Hot Damn! The sexiest words ever! My fave, I quote them all the time. So happy to see someone appreciate the same one's. How hot can you get? Sensual and erotic, his passionate voice screams he just wants to take you. Drips sex. As does he.

  • problem is this is an american audience. atmosphere would not be quite what you'd expect at a u2 gig in europe. US gigs are like funerals by comparison.

  • Imho here the problem was the band itself. They are the first to say that this tour was underrehearsed, and this onw really looks like a backstage video.

But yes, you are right about European crowds... And Sudamerican ones as well!

  • @Xalira06

The problem was they finished their album so late and had already scheduled the tour so it cut into their rehearsal times and it showed. Bono sounded rough and it took forever for them to get Staring at the Sun and If God will send his Angels figured out on the tour.

  • Only a one question... Bono says GET INTO THE GROOVE? how the ssong of Madonna Into the groove

    Please answer me..!!

  • Yeah

  • @keressi I don't understand your question...

  • its time to u2 re-think to deliver this on ths tour

  • @mecetnoca I agree, but it's got to sound better than this, it should sound more like the album version.

  • wait, did U2 write Miami?

  • prolly my fav U2 song EVER - but not a good performance.

  • Stop spamming.

  • this song takes me back to when I was 17!

  • They stopped playing it because Bono felt he couldn't deliver on it.

  • did you read that in an interview? Just curious where to get more info on this one.

  • Yeah Id like more info on this tune as well if you have it. :) ta

  • I can see why U2 are so annoyed about this concert. They sound really tentative and don't look comfortable at all.

  • That's because this was the opening show of the tour....they had never played it live before a crowd before this.

  • bring this song back!!. work on it for their new album

  • They needed more time with this song...they could of made this work live...great song though

  • este tema en el album es uno de los mejores sin duda pero en vivo deja mucho que decear y no esta tan bueno como la version del album que es mas que excelente!!

  • I like the album version of this song but the live version doesn't do it much justice. I noticed it wasn't played much after the first gig or two on the tour.

  • they need the heavy distorted guitar riff over the top over the verse and intro to make it work.. not just the melodic one line Edged played here.

  • It's a ropey performance but it's fascinating! Not sure about the Madonna snip though lol. This is one of my favourites off Pop, such an underrated album. I think people tend to forget how experimental U2 was being with Pop and Zooropa.

  • i love this bass line of this song.i think this is the album of adam clayton.just amazings bass at the whole album

  • this song misses so much without that background riff in the begginning and throughout the song. IF you know the song, you know what I'm talking about.

  • Chillinbro5000: I know exactly what you mean, and totally agree.

  • @Chillinbro5000 you are so fuckin' right my friend

  • @Chillinbro5000

I know the riff, it's quality!

any idea what effect he uses on the riff? It's barely even 'guitar-like!'

  • @Chillinbro5000

Yes I know exactly what you're saying. Many of the Pop tunes needed an extra guitar player live to lay down some backing to then let Edge play off of. They shoulda just brought up The Edge's guitar tech he's worked with for years and had him in the background playing backup.

  • A deeply underated song!!!!!

  • @munster0076 Agree 100 %,but what can you do? Most of the people don't have good taste for music! That's the fact, not fiction

  • @munster0076 no a deeply underated album!!!! ;)

  • back in 1997 this song blew all my senses it is an actual dedication to a lover of mine I think I love the guitar part

  • I was hoping to see him do that crazy effect from the album version, I'm dying to know how to do that

  • funny how in this vid, bono looks almost exactly the same as he does now, great song, great album, great tour, i wish i was able to see a popmart show...i hope they will play some popmart stuff on september 17th

  • Everyone tries to bash the Pop album but it was the greatest albums ever. Songs like Staring at the Sun, Please, and If You Wear That Velvet Dress were amazing live during PopMart and the tours that followed. They should bring those back and the rest in their setlist for their upcoming 360 Tour so I can witness them in person.

  • Totally agree!!

  • Jesus never let me down

You know Jesus used to show me the score

Then they put Jesus in show business

Now it's hard to get in the door

  • Great Song on the CD but not so great live.

I thought Pop Mart is a great album. . . better than their latest.

  • Comment removed

  • Did your boyfriend tell you that?

  • i feel bono was derisive when he quoted from a madonna song, that's why i wrote what i wrote. anyway i'm a great u2 fan since my childhood, i just don't understand why they made pop, achtung baby and zooropa. and if you think that everybody is a faggot who doesn't share your opinion, than you're quite retarded.

  • Jesus, grow a sense of humor. I was making a facetious reference to the widely held stereotype that all men who like Madonna are gay. I think those electronic U2 albums are great.

  • PoP, Achtung baby, z00r0pa

    are their 3 best albums....

stay faraway so close - fave of zoo

    wild horses - achtung

this and if god will send his angels - pop

  • With Zooropa being their best but I love Pop just as much. I think Dirty Day and this song get treated unfairly and should be considered as some of their best. Other bands release songs similar to these and get all this critical praise.

  • songs like new york

    playboy mansion

u never hear thyem. why? they are plain and simple awsome. they shud open a U2 radio

and maby feat coldplay every now n then

  • Songs like Mofo and Please. I saw Coldplay live they are cool I like them as well. Going to see U2 in October so I hope they play something from the 90s.

  • Comment removed

  • That's just rubbish. Achtung Baby is one of the classic albums of the 90's, and it's also always considered U2's best album along with The Joshua Tree. Which I agree to.

  • @apejens44 Iagree with you but "No Line on the Horizon" stands right up there with Joshua and Achtung. 2o years since Achtung Baby and they have found the sound we expect. Bono's lyrics and word play are some of his best. I think Zooropa was put out to quickly on the heels of Achtung Baby when they were in huge demand. They were never snobs about their fame, very down to earth and I love that.

  • @Superbonogirl: Putting No line on the horizon in the same sentence as Achtung baby and Joshua is pushing the boat out a bit. It is music made by people in their 40s/50s, lacks drive, youth and spunk of the other albums. Im not saying its bad but it cant hold a candle to the creativity, style and lyrical deliverables of the earlier albums. Obviously this is my subjective view but just throwing a reply in there for the sake of it. Sexy boots, crazy tonight etc. No deal.

  • You can see why this song was dropped from the setlist shortly after the second or third date of this tour. It just didn't work very well live.

  • still a good song on the cd

  • It is a great song on the CD, I agree. It's too bad they didn't want to perfect it as a live rendition at some point. Who knows, maybe they will.

  • i think larry is underrated

and adam also they are both good

  • yawn....

  • I think POP is one of the greatest U2 albums but several songs are not made for the live.

  • people in Barcelona will probably hear this song in Camp Nou at the opener of the 360 tour on June 30th :)))))

  • Love this song but it never sounded that great live

  • I absolutely love The Edge´s beginning at 0:25 :D

As it says in PoP´s chapter in U2 by U2: Some days are better than others.

Popmart had fantastic moments (Mexico, Chile, Rotterdam) and others not so good (Las Vegas),but they still are the best band in the world.

    U2 FOREVER!!! 360 TOUR!!!

  • It was their worst performance i have ever seen....it was opening night of the Popmart Tour and they were completely unprepared..I know, I was there...but believe me, even Nolan Ryan had a bad night once in a great while....I forgave them, long ago...by the way, this was broadcast on free tv, and it was the worst rated tv show of ALL time...

  • Sounds like a rehearsal. Can see why they dropped it.

    Roll on The Claw '09...

  • IMHO POP is the best U2 album ever.

I know that's a very unpopular opinion, but it is how I feel about it. Great rythm, excellent lyrics, exceptional production.

  • This is one of those dark hidden gems that you ocassionally find in U2 albums and that you wonder how could they not become singles. One of my all time favs from the dublin crew.

  • For everybody who want something of Pop for the new 360 tour, I know from a reliable source that U2 is having something back form that era:

    BONO´S HAIRCUT

  • @edgamu Your reliable source must be on the internet looking at pictures of the last few Vertigo tour shows...Bono's had his hair short since then.

  • We all love P0P

  • In my opinion, Pop ist the third best album by U2. Only the Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby are better.

  • Comment removed

  • In my humble opinion Pop is not the worst u2 album, that honour goes to the Atomic Bomb album.

In fact "do you fell loved" is one of my favourite u2 songs.

  • nah, Atomic is one of their best, most complete efforts =)

  • how come i have avideo of this same show but when they play this song the camera zooms in on adam for this entire song and most other songs

  • I miss you Pop!!

  • lol the beginning!!!

  • Going to see them at Sam Boyd this year ... ACHTUNG VEGAS, BABY!

  • Me to!!! im so excited my first U2 concert!!!!

  • Bono puede decir lo que quiera, pero ni Zooropa fue tan bueno ni Pop fue tan malo.

  • yeah it´s like they nevwer rehearsed, like a lot from that concert.

  • Would be great it they played some Pop stuff as well as maybe some Unforgettable Fire songs as on the Vertgio tour they played a lot of Boy songs. I will never forget the site of the 100ft arch, it was huge and the new 360 stage is 164 feet high!

  • the studio version has a heavier almost more sensual bass. That I think is why it was hard to translate these songs live: the instrumentation doresnt stay consistent. still an awesome song though

  • I agree I would love for them to do this song on their new tour, most likely they won't but,you never know what extra songs that they'll put in at their concerts!

    Great video thanks!

  • Yeah, agreed. I'd appreciate any Pop song, but I don't think they like the album themselves as much as other ones. But there's a line there about boots, so there's a chance Bono might snippet it.

  • ,, take this boots their good for nothing, no this boots don´t want to stray"

I woud love to see the band making a version of Get on your boots that is not that close to the orignal with snippets and stuff....

  • The Edge and Clayton are jamming this song..I wish they would try this song again on the new tour..

  • dude you have one hell of a camera.

  • pop is better than How to dismantle a atomic bomb, I also like it better than All that you cant....

  • yes into the groove :)

  • underated song

  • 'POP' is completely underrated. It's an awsome album with some real gems. Like this one!

  • i agree, although there is some dirge on there ie Miami, The Playboy Mansion, If You Wear That Velvet Dress. I like this song, Gone, Please and MOFO the most.

I prefer this album over any of their recent stuff

  • Comment removed

  • Watch this nearly everyday-its uplifting to say the least!Pure class...

  • i love this song, so much

  • Well Larry came out and said that Popmart tour was booked too early - before the album was finished so by the time they had finished the album, they had little time to work on the tour.

  • Terrific song - one of their best.

No tengo dudas.

  • was Las Vagas their first date in the popmart tour?? and why did they not do "do you feel loved?" at any later dates? I saw them at London and at Brisbane, oz and its not on and also it's not on the play list on the dvd at mexico?

  • Because they realized it was only bringing down the show, to them at least. So they took it out.

  • still great though!!

  • yeh looks like Bono is trying to get the audience into it

  • The opening guitar (0:27 seconds) and at the end (4:40-end of video) is one of their best...it is so classic U2. It is great. I really wish they would bring this song back and play it live some. It is the most underrated/under appreciated song of theirs. They also need to get rid of 'Get on Your Boots'. That is so far from them it is unreal. Ni ceart go cur le cheile

  • yeahhhhh U2 U2 U2 U2 U2 U2 U2 U2 U2 THE BEST BAND OF THE WORLD

THE NEW ALBUM by U2 for 2009 MARCH cool songs

  • their best

  • not their best

  • sounds like it was a rehearsal :)

  • btw WHERE THE HECK is the amazing sample? (the backbone of this song really?)

  • i agree, the sample would have been great live, but there's something really cool about the rawness and space of this version, with just guitar bass and drums (and tambourine).

also, Edge's Grestch -- what a fucking amazing instrument

  • I'm so sorry I was clicking thumbs up but clicked the wrong one. I agree with you. That was such a lovely guitar and the sound it made. A little bit of tiny winy and it can be great live. Make no mistake this is perfect too. I used file cutter to cut the audio in the start and its my ringtone.

Now I wont be the only one in the world to have it :)

  • I love this song, and the album 'pop' is a brilliant example of u2's ability to innovate, i seen them play this tune live in Leeds roundhey park 1997, one of the best concerts ive ever been to.......Rock On!

  • My sentiments exactly! :)

  • one of the greatest u2 songs ever

  • Pop is definitely U2´s best album as a whole album. It has the most solid collection of songs.

"Pop didn´t sale 50 million copies". - Who cares?

Other U2 albums have many better live songs than the ones on Pop. But it isn´t that simple at all even we know the essence of U2 is playing live.

U2 claims Pop was "rushed" but I don´t believe it. It was meant to be as it is and not The Joshua Tree II!

The new horrible versions on The Best of 1990-2000? U2 pandering the old school fans.

  • If you wear that velvet dress is a great song!!

it changes the feeling in the place you are it isn´t a fucked up song

  • I´m agree with the song Miami, just Miami. XD
