Especially with the now 10% decrease in healing in any BG, world pvp on my priest seems more pleasant. At least on my server we have weekly raids on cities, and opposing faction actually defends, and its an all out war.

You should go to your realm forums about these type of events, its rather fun.

That were awesome days. People joined the fight for the sake of pvp, not for getting gear, honour or marks, just for the pure fun of fighting each other. But then we got crap game designers who don't support this kind of pvp and put everything in a sandbox. And yet they even fail on that. Don't think Cataclysm will bring back some good pvp as long as we have the same morons sitting in the dev team.

Oh and good luck to anyone trying to level a new character on a PVP server when cataclysm comes and people can use flying mounts in azeroth... A hunter with track humanoids is going to be able to fly over and gank any lowbie in the entire zone in about 5 mins.

In the days of Vanilla WoW (before BC expansion) -Which was about 4 years ago, to get the best PvP gear you had to basically farm players to get all the Honorable Kills you could (The PvP honor system worked differently back then) and the fastest way to do this was running around in end-game zones with your guild and killing all the players you see. Which happened quite often because most people were doing the same thing. Sometimes big battles were planned, depending on your server.

Battlegrounds were introduced around the same time that the PvP system was introduced. And yes they were popular, but world PvP was simply much more fun. And since all the level 60s were in the zones anyway farming or grinding, it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

The PvP system changed. In old vanilla WoW, battleground marks of honour- when you handed them in they gave you experience. Which is another reason why level 60s prefered world PvP. But when that changed, you could no longer receive PvP ranks (which at the time was used to buy PvP gear) now the PvP gear is bought with the marks of honour, so naturally everyone started just doing battlegrounds.

Nothing directly, but world PvP was the quickest way to get honour, which improved your PvP rank, and once you reached a certain rank, THEN you can buy all of the gear, which at the time cost gold- you just needed to attain the ranks first to buy it all.

It used to be fun to gather griends/guildmates and rape the opposite faction, but now players only care about loot - since blizz is freebie-ing them away.

I stopped playing a year ago. And I only miss the good old WoW. ^^

sooner or earlier resilience had to be put in, becouse, if there wouldn`t put in resielence, say in WoTLK we would do suck fucking crit to pvp targets with the new gear, so resielence kinda evens it all up

Nah, imo resilence should only be on certain items, like trinkets, rings etc, and enchants, not plastered all over welfare gear like it is.

Yeah really, there were only 2 good times for pvp in that game. 1 was when this movie was filmed when everyone had gear from 5 mans for the most part. The other was just before TBC when everyone had tier 1, 2 or honor gear. Both of these times most people were on even playing grounds so the uber nerds who grind for new gear were not ruining the game.
