  • 2:15 wow! he's good at guessing!

  • Ok, I can understand people not knowing anything about Norway (although it's sad), but why in the hell do they answer the questions they have no idea about? Have they heard about "I don't know", or are they expecting a prize for answering correctly? :)

  • GOD DAMN THE BLONDE CHICK WAS THE ONLY ''SMART'' THERE

  • I like how all the old people are really well educated and the young cant answer :)

  • @gerudokraken Well educated?.. A bit bold statement, but allright.

  • According to these people, i live in a small dutch town, and i speak french

  • Skal norsk være så vanskelig for amrikanerene? Det er helt tåpeli. Vi nordmen kan snakke amerikansk lettere en folk i amerika

  • I'm pretty sure it's not a new development. I don't mean to brag, but I've known that Norway is a part of Scandinavia for a while. And I'm pretty sure, that somewhere out there, there's a Norwegian making shoes.

  • I am a norwegian, and i am so offended.. No but really, Americans are kinda - uneducated..

  • I'll be honest: is someone came up to me on the street and asked me a bunch of questions about.... let's say Zambia, then i'd have no clue. But I would expect people to at least recognize the region of Scandinavia. I mean: It's huge and it's even western.

  • BUt so what, really? Norway is way richer per capita than America, has no poverty, no illiteracy, virtually no crime compared to America(the police don't even bother carrying guns there), they have much higher wages, very much longer holidays, free education, health-care, more than a year paternity-leave and maternity leave, longer life expectancy, everything is better there, just look up Norway in wikipedia. (And half of those americans asked are probably "christians" or "alien abductees",haha)

  • I'm Norwegian, and I laughed through this whole vid. I wonder how the reactions would be the other way around though. :)

  • Woah! IDK about the average US citizen, but their geography skills and a basic knowledge of the world (especially the western civilization) is... crap, really.

It really feels like you can compare their knowledge of the world with a third world country..

  • I thought Norway was the capitol of Sweden and has polar bears and penguins walking around in the street located in Anartica at the North Pole where Santa Clause stays. Santa is from Finland and I think Misses clause is Russian and they have left over midget slaves from Scotland that England gave the Clauses back in the 1800's and they call them elves. Santa stole the dear from America because he is an Animals Right Activist and doesnt like us hunting them and Jesus gave them powers. True Story.

  • I'm American and when I hear "Norway" I think "a-ha!!!!" Honestly, it's not because Americans are stupid. I live in Texas, and I never learned anything about Norway at school. So blame it on the schools. If given a chance we can know a lot about Norway. I think the country is beautiful, and the people are very nice. - ha det bra!

  • And... We did geography in highschool and there's almost 200 countries. Of course the world will know more abot USA because USA is.... USA. Norway is a small country of about 4-5 million people. Thats the size of one of USA's states. Norway is a beautiful country and have alot of opportunitys there. But come on, yall have to be smart enough than to go by some video someone threw together. Don't let your hate take over. If yall hate USA that much then become friends with Russia or China instead.

  • @JustinFlickUSMC0300

You guys really need to drop this idea that we all run around Europe hating america. Its really getting silly.

  • @JustinFlickUSMC0300 Richest country in the world though, one of the few states in the world with a large fund, instead of piles of debt.

  • @Creepershop do research before running your mouth. 14tril debt. 13 tril is to our own country. what are they going to do? Arrest themselves? 1tril is to the foreign world. I never said anything bad about Norway. Norway is a great country. The cost of living in Norway is higher. USA makes 15 trillion dollars a year and Norway makes 255 billion a year. But I guess your an internet keyboard warrior who talks shit.

  • @JustinFlickUSMC0300 Chill out man. I might have come forth a bit different than I planned. I am by no means nationalistic. I just wanted to point out that Norway stands out financially, especially because of it's large pension fund. Anyways, it was also meant per capita, I don't go around believing that Norway makes more money than the US in total.

I don't hate USA, neither do I hate you. It wasn't meant to be confrontational, so If it was, I am truly sorry.

  • Okay you have to remember people do alot of videos like this? Yes theres alot of stupid people but do you think they're going to make a video and show all the correct answers? No. Of course it was made to make Americans seem dumb but you can also make a video and make Norwegians seem dumb or any other country seem dumb. Yall should be smart enough to realize that. But then again this is youtube, full of keyboard warriors. Anyways God bless USA, God bless the Norwegians, and everyone else too.

  • Alot of hate on here and thanks to this video I found out my Norwegian gf is a hypocrit.

  • The United States has to be the stupidest country in the world! Don't you guys learn anything about other countries than your own? :P

  • that clip in the end was half swedish! xd

  • THEY KNOW WHERE SWEDEN,DENMARK BUT NOT MY FUCKING CONTREY NORWAY!

  • Why even answer when you haven't got a clue? "I think they speak Spanish now"? How about a simple "I don't know"? Do you Americans geography in school?

  • Comment removed

  • wowww these people make me so ashamed of America. Norwegians, we're not all like this! Believe me!

  • daaaaaaaamn, girl at 0.52 <3 even knew were Norway was :D

  • WOW Im american and I know where the hell Norway is. Northern Europe. Scandinavia region. West of Sweden. North of Denmark. Capital is Oslo. Flag is a red banner with a blue horizontal and a vertical line both with white lines on the edge of each line. They both cross a bit off center of the flag. What do i know about Norway? Home of the Vikings centuries ago. Beautiful country. I swear to god. I feel like the only American who actually knows where Norway is without watching this video. -______-

  • Fuck this fat americans, they are so stupid, we norwegians are more smarter then these and more richer!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Turkish2111Modz so agree man!

  • @Turkish2111Modz Don't hate.

  • @firelord1125 shut the fuck up you fat american!

  • @Turkish2111Modz By the way, technically, you are not richer than us. (: By capita, yes. But overall, you are far behind.

  • @firelord1125 you are more in depth than any other country on the PLANET! it kinda makes you the technically poorest country..

  • @LillJohnsen More in debt is what you meant to say. That is a true fact, yes. But I am speaking in technical terms. I am not trying to bash any country at all. In fact, I got accepted into the University of Oslo. I am just saying that the USA is in fact the richest country in the world.

  • as a norwegian im happy to anounce that the norwegian viking Leif Eiriksson was the man that discovered america 400 years before columbus....... -.- lol

  • @WarcenElite yeah......Canada. Not the USA.

  • @WarcenElite no native did,lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @WarcenElite He was from iceland actually..

  • @IneffableLifestyle

A lot of Norwegian blood there. His father migrated to Iceland, so you could call him Norwegian.

  • @Metalheadyup his father was from norway so you could call him norwegian? lol.

  • @IneffableLifestyle

Iceland at that time was pretty much Norwegian ethnically.

  • @Metalheadyup i still concider, and i think most people do, national identity as more of a cultural thing. If someone lives in america, concider themselves american and not english or african even though their family and themselves are of that ethnicity i would concider them american.

  • @IneffableLifestyle

Would you consider an Englishman living in Japan as Japanese? I wouldn't.

  • @Metalheadyup if the man was born in japan, grew up there and concider himself japanese, wouldnt you? i would.

  • @IneffableLifestyle

I would not. Neither would the Japanese. (one of the most ethnocentric nations in the world)

  • @IneffableLifestyle

Mother as well actually. Fully ethnic Nordmann.

  • @WarcenElite: Actually Leiv Eirksson was born in iceland. His father was from norway.

  • hahah jævlig tidi xD

  • As a Norwegian i know where USA is, but they dont know where my country is :(

  • @Kuoin name 15 states of the top of your head though without googling and then tell me the neighbouring states for washington state:P saying i know where the US is, is like saying i know where europe is:) happy hunting;)

  • @codexdelux Then tell me all the 19 norwegian counties without googling

  • @Kuoin sure: oslo, akershus, vesterålen, sortlands, troms, aust-agder, vest-agder.

  • @Kuoin Speaking as a Norwegian, America is a little bit more significant than Norway when it comes to most things.

  • @Kjellarnek ja,ja

  • @Kuoin

Well, that isn't as surprising tbh. The US is a superpower with 300 million people in it. Norway is a small state with 5 million. One could compere it to you knowing where Djibouti is.

  • @Kuoin we're 5 million people, they're like 350 million people.. so its not weird :)

  • Boy you Norwegians are really obsessed about hair color!

  • @ddbonner

I'm not obsessed with hair color. And even If that were the case, how on earth would that make ALL Norwegians obsessed with it? What a stupid generalization. Anyway, the reason why I made these comments is because I'm sick and tired of the fact that so many non-Norwegians for some reason think that all Norwegians have blonde hair and blue eyes! It's simply not true! Ethnic Norwegians come with all hair colors, from the blondest of blonde to the blackest of black. And dark eyes!

  • haha beautiful blonde people! det er norske jenter det! ;) thumbs up

  • @NorwegianBoy94

    Thumbs down :(

  • Comment removed

  • @Pastorius333 the thing is that Norway is one of the few countries where people have blond hair. A friend of mine who has brown hair lives in Italy now and she was considered blond when she first got there. We have, at least, blonder hair then most countries. It's quite amazing really. I am a blond Norwegian and loving it. The only stupid stereotype is that blondes tend to be stupid. Luckily for me that is mostly centered around girls.

  • @boje1210

It's still a stereotype which is believed by many people. The thing is, they do not only believe that many Norwegians have blonde hair. They believe that ALL Norwegians have blonde hair, which of course not true! So it actually IS a very stupid stereotype. Many of my family members have not just brown but black hair. They hate to have to defend their "Norwegianness" to ignorant foreigners all the time! And by the way there are many countries with blonde haired people!

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahahaha It never ceases to make me laugh when I tell fellow Californians that I speak Norwegian and they respond in king with . - WHATS NORWEGIAN ????

  • @Robocop80s I meant in kind typo .

  • To norwegians: what is the capital of Texas? 99 % would not have a clue.

  • @olejac Austin ;)

  • @olejac but Texas is not a country though

  • i had to wiki Norway after watching this video :)

  • I like that guy with the black hat. He knows a lot ! =D

  • I don´t think it is very strange that the average American not knows much about Norway.

Ask any Norwegian about one particular state in America, and the capital of that state and other "fun facts". I think many Norwegians would fail the test as well.

  • It's funny that all Norwegian kids these days learn to place all the American states on the map.

  • Comment removed

  • Great video, but why is Americans so bad in geography?

  • @SmieshNorway Miss Teen South Carolina has the answer to that! Haha! ;-)

  • Let me ask some Norwegians about my State, the Capital, the Governor, what my state was named after, name one city and tell me about the demographics.

They'd be running to the computer or their phone. Everyone does not know everything about every place on the map.

Yes iambutthurtmad. Propaganda to make other countries feel better about themselves well this is from me an American "We are all equal We are all part of the Human Race, No one Country is better than an Other. Sorry!!"

  • @applejacksss To europeans, USA is USA. USA is a country in north America along with Canada and Mexico to the south. Washington DC is the capital, Obama is president, NY and LA are the biggest cities. We don't nessesarily know the states. Then for example we have GERMANY, located in EUROPE. But Germany has many states too, do you want me to name one of Germanys states? No I can't, but I can name Berlin, Angela Merkel as Kansler and Munich and Dortmund as two large cities. Cheers from Norway!

  • @applejacksss but then again yea, I can name a big chunk of american states. Maybe even all of them if you gave me time. But I couldn't locate them all even though I have pretty ok control on the most important stuff. State capitals are more difficult but I could name some yeah. But yeah the feel I get from americans is that they view Europe as a union of states like America is. Well, we're not. We're different countries with different languages. Big difference there. Not a union but a continent

  • Do they ever pick anyone with a degree from a University? Let's just pick someone that barely graduated highschool. Trust me they have a look...sorry but its true.. Also even in University if you don't take European History or other classes like that you will not learn about it.

I wish one day they'd pick me on the side of the road and ask me to make me look like a typical American. I'd bet my house which I paid for with CASH, I'd get every question right.

They know it, so they stay away.

  • lolz jeg elsker Norge :P

  • Norway sells you americans your motor oil that is in your cars and trucks

  • there obviously only showing the people that dont know. And even if they dont know whats wrong with that? People have better things to be worrying about.

  • My ancestors are from Norway my great great great grandfather came from there to the USA in the 1880s

  • I think Norway is the capitol of sweden, and polar bears are walking around in the streets.

  • @Spurz35 lol if so i have never seen any, and i live in norway

  • @Spurz35 ur stupid

  • @mut3000 I am?

  • what kind of language do they speak in norway "dunno maybe german" are you fucking kidding me...

  • Ha, ha! :P

  • @arovir now I am not surprised when they don't know anything about my country too...

  • @feba2 At least I've traveled through your beautiful country... :)

  • @arovir really?! I would like to visit yours in summer... to see beautiful fjords... but it is to expensive for my pocket...

  • @feba2 It's been some years now, but I still remember how lovely it was along the coast and especially around Dubrovnik. That town, I believe, was nominated once as the most beautiful town in Europe.

Visiting the fjords is an experience of a life-time. It's one thing seeing pictures, quite another to actually be there. :)

  • @arovir What has Norway to do with Dubrovnik?

  • @ozsfi Not much. I was just conversing with someone from Croatia...

  • @feba2 It's to expencive for my pocket i and live here.... You kinda need to watch what you're buying. It's like walking around LA.

You see a bar, you walk inside and buy a shot of whiskey before looking at the price. I basicly cant get drunk on the town, we have to start at home then go out because a shot of jack is to damn expencive.

if you want to put a dollar sign on it it's and i'm not kidding...

20,54 USD for ( ONE ) shot of 20 ML of alcohol

Now tell that's not crazy. It's retarded :(

  • Hahahh, de vet ingenting.. jeg tror de snakker spansk, hehe

    I love americans

  • well that last man have nothing to be ashamed about... it was pretty good norwegian man

to all others... I am embarrased. you don't even know where it is? And MAN... EASTERN EUROPE? HELLOOO??? Where are the geography teachers?

  • @signdowny i meant the guy at 2:38

  • One of the best education systems in the world? YAH RIGHT!!

  • Comment removed

  • I Think they speak spanish now...

  • oh, god.

  • wow so misleading, they interview 5 or so people (not a representative sample) and we are supposed to assume that all Americans are like this based on what? The fact that the makers only picked these people to interview? What garbage information.

  • "Beautiful, blonde people." Aww! Hahah. (:

  • nah norway has just been a part of scandanavia in a couple of thousands years and been and own country in a 100 years so its really new

  • wow bad education?

  • @cssisbest Pretty much I guess

  • LOL at 0:28. I haven't encountered one lousy American who doesn't believe in the stupid and erroneous blonde hair stereotype when it comes to Norwegians. It's just a myth!!! I'm an indigenous Norwegian and I have dark hair and brown eyes! There are lots of Norwegians with dark hair and dark eyes. My grandmother had black hair, brown eyes and olive skin!

  • @Pastorius333

There are still more blonde than non-blonde norwegian, though...

  • @WolfieboyMachi

There are quite a few blonde people here of course, but not as many as people think.

  • @Pastorius333 but many jewish herritage but they dont know it and german and russian. norwegians are blond or brown hair. many pirates had sex with whites and sendt they back to norway pregnant

  • @outernettboy

You obviously don't know shit about my country. I can see on your page that you're from Marocco, which leads me to assume that you've never even been here!! There are lots of Norwegians with dark brown to black hair as well as dark eyes. Deal with it!

  • @Pastorius333 shut up a sec. i live in norway. there are many bloodlines in norway and the real norwegians are the most caucasoid that a human can be. the other ones are mixed thru time with germans, danish , sami, jews, russian etc. even the royals are not real norwegians they have french and danish ancestry

  • @outernettboy

Actually, YOU'RE wrong. The first people to inhabit Norway were of the Tydal group. These people and their ancestors were/are mostly dark looking( from dark brown to black hair + brown eyes). The blonde hair and blue eyes gene came AFTERWARDS, through the germanic migration from central europe. Why is it so hard for you to accept that there are many dark Norwegians withouth foreign bloodlines??

  • Anyone else than me just feel like punching them?

  • Hahah Polar Bears! She was cute as hell though :P

  • The guy that knew that the thingy that takes you to town on rails was Trikk in Norwegian...I APPLAUDE YOU SIR

  • det her er den teiteste videoen jeg har sett på lenge xD

  • hei hei hade hei means hello hello goodbye hello

  • How can Norwegians expect Americans to know anything about their tiny, meaningless country? For example If I was to ask random Norwegians anything about Indonesia, although it's among the top 20 largest economies in the world, what would they know? Probably nothing. Oh well, that probably explains why every video here on youtube that contains something about Norway is flooded with comments about bring a proud Norwegian etc. Not easy to handle the inferiority complex.

  • @TheKaareJay Yeah. Some norwegians (most, actually) are way to proud of our country.

  • @TheKaareJay Only top 20?

  • @MrBellaGuerra According to wikipedia, but that might of course not be 100% accurate.

  • @TheKaareJay we're rich bitch.

  • @TheKaareJay it biggger than most european countries

  • @TheKaareJay so why do we need to learn about america or the rest of world?

  • @TheKaareJay Hehe nr 4 on budget surplus and nr 7 on GDP pre capita :D gg and btw only city states beats up but if u add it all together we are the richest country in the world :D

  • @TheKaareJay and still the indonesian GDP per captital isnt even on the top 100 ranking...

  • oh u silly americans...we ar not a little sweedish town...we are the richest country in the world...u sooo silly!

  • I think they speak Spanish now, hahahah LOOL

  • 0:10 like a little DUTCH town?! Ah man thats harsh... =(

  • hhahaha, Norwegians speak Norwegian!

  • LOL!

  • 2:42 i think he says '' hei hei her er jeg'' not '' ha jeg hadde jeg'' bdw, ha jeg hadde jeg dont make sense... jeez americans... -.-''

  • Ignorance is a bliss!

  • damn people are thick.....

  • Its annoying how americans know of sweden and denmark but NOT norway.. -.-

  • @futurestarr111 i know right!

  • @futurestarr111 well the do now, coz of breivik :/

  • @TheDaniiboy they*

  • @futurestarr111

I am from the USA and i cant think of one person i know that does not know where Norway is. Well maybe one or two now that i think of it. Damnit America

  • OMG,some american peole are so stupid... some of them even think that Europe is a country -.-

  • Sweden?! we aren't stupids....

    -.-''

  • anyone else than me just wanna punch them in the head?

  • .. i am amazed

  • Sweden!? NO! we fought our way out of sweden and denmark

  • The only one who knew where it was, was the blonde chick.

    Here goes my stereotypes

  • fat & ignorant

  • A little suggestion: Make a new video, go around, ask people about Norway now, and then compare it to this video (before and after 22. july)!

Btw: I'm actually kinda offended.. Thinking Norway's in Eastern Europe..? Come on.. But I gotta say, I love the guy in the car who actually could speak some Norwegian! :D

Greetings from (another) Norwegian 17-year-old. :)

  • Hehe, Eastern Europe!!!??? Im insulted.. hahah!:)

  • This is just sad!! Everyone shoud know about Norway!!

  • 0:28 thats totaly right!

  • I just cut of my dick in anger! It hurts! But it doesn't hurt as much as listening to these guys.

  • Well I probably would have a bit of a hard time knowing much about Norway if I was an american.

  • Im from norway but there are many countries in the world i dont know shit about either. Norway is a small country with a population counting approximately half the residents of new york city. so im not surprised Americans dont know much about us :)

Reason we know so much about the united States has alot to do with the movie industry and TV shows etc. There is not a day that goes by without some information about USA entering Norwegian homes through TV, internet or movies.

  • @Scweppy Well put. The thing about USA is that it's huge in every sense of the word, and has bits of everything the world has to offer all put into one country. So when you have pretty much everything you can think about in your own country, the desire to know about the rest of the world dwindles. No wonder, then, that Americans generally don't care about a little country like ours. Apart from the beautiful fjords in Sweden :-)
