  • Thanks!

  • fuck word

  • If I could like this more than once, I would.

  • @Suspect930 Thanks!

  • @Suspect930 you are gay lol

  • How can I remove page numbers on first 5 pages not just the 1th as a "different page" or any other page?? Impossible!

  • @NinjaTTT You won't be able to skip more than the first page. You'll need to create two separate documents-the first 5 pages not numbers and then another file that has numbers on its pages.

  • @NinjaTTT watch this: watch?v=NGzz2ZmLrFw

  • @theempire00 dam it, this is a different version!

  • @omelettecrap On our website, we have tutorials on earlier versions of MS Word. Feel free to look there for help. ^Jess

  • @omelettecrap but it works the same, try it :)

  • hi how to put diff footer on diff page? i can't seems able to do that

  • Could have made this video into one minute!

  • what happens if i have nothing in my header or page number gallery?? when i click on header, all i see is "edit header" and "remove header". help!?!!

  • Need help numkbering my pages. I got a document with 12 pages and each footer is named SECTION 1, on page 1, SECTION 2 on page 2 and so on until i come to the 5 page. All the suddenly, Page 5,6,7,8 footer is also called SECTION 5, so wahtever i write, they all became the same number. After that, page 9 got SECTION 6 and page 10 got SECTION 7. What am I gonna do?

  • @Baxtexx We actually don't have an answer for this issue. Sometimes just deleting all of the footers and starting over can help. Sorry we can't answer your question. ^Jess

  • THANK YOU so much. This did the trick for me. I was writing an official letter going to my health insurance company and I wanted to make sure the pages were labeled. Nothing fancy, but in case they were dropped or misplaced. THANK YOU... The job is done. I am new to Word 2010 and things look so complicated UNTIL you get to see how easy it really is! WONDERFUL JOB. Your video IS excellent and NOW shared on my Facebook page. Am subscribing to.

  • @rozfruchtman Glad we could help! ^Jess

  • Thank you! This was very useful to me!

  • Page no. is STILL not working. it numbers 1- 5 and then mysteriously just stops even though I set this for the entire report. I tried the delinking button from previous and it still is doing it wrong. if i type it manually it just turns all pages to the same number!

  • microsoft ,why in the world would you make a button that says "different on first page" and expect a user to know that this makes the 1st page # disapper? different on 1st page could mean that the 1st page is a cover that doesn't start the numbering, or it could mean different style! in every other word processor i've used you go to 'page numbers' and unclick 'start number on first page.' on 2010 you have to go to a hidden tab.

  • I've chosen a header, but adding a page number makes my header disappear. This is getting frustrating and I'm wondering why Microsoft doesn't simply add a save changes button in all of the tabs. How can I add a header without it disappearing everytime I try to add a page number and vice versa?

  • Great tutorial! I've going crazy trying to figure out how to add page numbers to my header. Thank you so much for this!

  • this really helped , thank you.

  • Thank you so much! you saved me so much confusion! I should have youtubed this last year in my first year haha I shall subscribe to ya'll :D

  • Thank you so much, this tutorial was uber helpful. I was frustrated with trying to add the number to the header without erasing the words. I really appreciate your tutorial. :)

  • This tutorial was so helpful, thank you very much. I finally know how to do it, thanks to y'all.

    Have a wonderful day! : }

  • what if i want my page numbers to start on the third page but start with number 2, in other words, the first page has no number, the second page has no number, but the third page does. There is no box to click which says "different second page"

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!

  • Thank you so much-- I had a problem with the page number replacing the header, but this solved that problem

  • Thank you, I was tired of fighting with the header & page number conflict. I appreciate the advice here!

  • I've been trying to do page numbers that do not start with the 1 on the first page, ut page 2 has page 2 on it. And I want it far right, and I do not want a header format up above my typing. Driving me crazy. I can't see an answer on the video. Can't you, like you could in earlier versions of word, not have a number on the first page, and not have the format header there. Dotty

  • I have sections in my document, like SECTION 1, SECTION 2, SECTION 3 with subsections in each (ie. 1.1, 2.2, 3.2, etc). How can I adjust the header so that each page shows the main SECTION the reader is on? So, for example, I'm on section 1.4- how can the page I'm on show I'm in SECTION 1?

  • @damaged2 You might be able to achieve what you want using something called Quick Parts. First, select your header. Then (on the Design tab), click Quick Parts, and choose Field. Finally, navigate to Section in the list of field names. You can also experiment with some of the other fields. For more information, try visiting the Microsoft website, and going to the Support page. Hope this helps!

  • This was very helpful, especially when taking classes

  • i dont want the order to start from 1 to some number, cos i have some pages which i take from my last years paperwork, so my question is, how can i give my own numbers on page numbers, instead of the order 1, 2, 3, 4 etc...

  • @malgand1 When you Click on "Insert">"Page Numbers" Click on "Format" in the box that pops up. It will pop up with a new box for advanced options. At the bottom of this box, under "Page Numbering" there is an option to enter the number you want the document to start at. Just enter the number you need this document to begin with, click ok, and it will number your pages starting with that. Let me know if this answers your question.

  • @gcflearnfree

hi, maybe you can help me, Im doing a big project using word and i have about 15 pages and 7 topics is there a way to get just the topics name in the first page and when you click on the topic you want to see automatic word take you there instead of you scroll down 10 pages to get where you want.? thanks for your time

  • @2011juantube It's possible to create a hyperlink that will jump to a different place in the document. Click the Hyperlink command in the Insert tab, and then choose "Place in This Document". Then you can select the heading that you want it to jump to.

  • I have spent countless hours researching for tutorials and videos on trying to figure out how to not have a page number for my cover page. This video was gave me the information I needed less than 20 seconds! Thank you so much!!!!
