Here is my closing argument. There was no intimidation happening on the day in question. The guy was out of line and was handled appropriately by the police. No one was influenced or prevented from voting by they NBPP. End of story.
We all have opinions and believe in them. The problem I had was that two default judgements were awarded and Holder forced the DOJ to drop the case without reason. If he had valid reasons and stated them, I would listen. I might not agree with him but you have multiple people working for him that quit because of this case and no reason was ever given.
I think he at least owes an explanation with basis of fact.
The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and The Ranking House Judiciary Committee and two different DOJ Circuit Court default judgements disagree with you.
Dismissal of a default judgement is essentially unheard of as it is basically considered contempt of court. Just about any attorney regardless of political affiliation agree on this matter.
No reasonable explanation has ever been provided to the above.

You must not know the facts of the case: The facts are that a high ranking DOJ official stated under oath that he (J. Christian Adams) was instructed by the DOJ not to pursue cases with white plaintiffs and black defendants. This was due to pressure by the NAACP and DOJ.
Not long after that, Christopher Coates, chief of the Civil Rights Division backed up Mr. Adam's testimony, also under oath. I can see no other logical explanation why this should not have gone to a grand jury.

On January 7, 2009 the Bush DOJ files lawsuit against NBPP.
In March of 2009 the court enters a default judgement against NBPP members. Bush DOJ decides to reduce charges from criminal to civil.

@SlamDuncDrummer Did you watch the video taken of the guys standing in front the voting place? Did you see anyone being intimidated? Did you see the police officer remove the guy without incident?
Here is my closing argument. There was no intimidation happening on the day in question. The guy was out of line and was handled appropriately by the police. No one was influenced or prevented from voting by they NBPP. End of story.

We all have opinions and believe in them. The problem I had was that two default judgements were awarded and Holder forced the DOJ to drop the case without reason. If he had valid reasons and stated them, I would listen. I might not agree with him but you have multiple people working for him that quit because of this case and no reason was ever given.
I think he at least owes an explanation with basis of fact.
We will close it.

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and The Ranking House Judiciary Committee and two different DOJ Circuit Court default judgements disagree with you.
Dismissal of a default judgement is essentially unheard of as it is basically considered contempt of court. Just about any attorney regardless of political affiliation agree on this matter.
No reasonable explanation has ever been provided to the above.
End of story.

An injuction was obtained against the guy with the nightstick, Holder said it was rediculous to draw a parallel between the intimidation committed by that guy and the intimidation against blacks(his people) during the civil rights era, because it is. Not one voter claimed to be intimidated by the NBP that day, and his people got lynched for trying to vote in the 60's.
