We were on the Grandeur in Sept. cruising to Bermuda. We loved the ship and want to do the New England trip. Were you able to walk from the ports or did you need other transportation to see the sites? Thanks for posting this, hope we can take the cruise next summer.
The New England trip was really nice. The timing may have been a little early because of the weather but for the most part it worked out pretty good. At St. John we just did our own walking tour. Worked out fine. At Halifax we took a cab up to the city garden and then walked down the hill through the city and over to the museum. Then caught the bus back to the ship
. In Barr Harbor they use tenders to go ashore. The bus system in the park (Acadia) worked out really well. You could hop on and off all along the trails and roads. Beautiful place, my favorite stop. Boston is taxi but they also have rickshaw bikes that were a lot of fun. Went to the market place and Cheers. Also walked through the parks.
My two boys (teens) did not like the Grandeur as well as the other ship they were on, the Mariner. We go back to the Mariner in February for Mexican Riviera. The Mariner ride before was western carib but because of hurricanes we went eastern carib. The boys liked the teen facilities on the Mariner better and I think the New England cruise caters to an older crowd than what the southern cruises offer. Have fun.
Thanks for the info! We hope to take the New England cruise next Summer.
