why does the title say bpu?everybody uses the term bpu now and make their own definition mkiv=bpu not high maintance fairladys or is it bpu supra and stage 5 300 zx?
Most people that aren't familiar with Z's don't know what the stages are. Being that most do recognize BPU as being Basic parts upgrade( intake filter, exhaust, chip,EBC....ect) It would somewhat familiarize and unfamiliar car to the general public.
Also Z's are by no means high maintenance. They're regular 15+ year old sports cars that require regular maintenance.
The chips don't add all the extra HP. They just expand the fuel and timing maps( along with making them "better") which in turn allow you to turn up the boost safely(stock is 9.5psi). The added boost is what gives the extra HP.
With stock turbos and internals the max so far has been 450RWHP(530BHP). Stock internals have been known to hold 600+rwhp but I wouldn't trust any cars motor at over 500rwhp. Reliability as with most turbo motors is greatly dependent on tuning.
sweet car. cool dual tail pipes. none of that single straw shit coming out the back most ricers have. loved how you smoked that fuckin over-rated supra and wished i could have seen the civic get eaten for lunch. can't imagine that car had much hp stock, but it looks like those mods paid off. keep it up.

is it true that they make chips for the Z that bump the HP to 400 to 600 HP,and how much HP can the stock setup hold?
