  • fuck the trailer is as scary as the film

  • Toilet FTW!!

  • great music choice.

  • In the novel norman bates decapitates the woman in the shower instead of stabbind her. Makes me want to read it.

  • He is such a cute bear. I love him 3

  • I love the way he nearly tells you something everytime, telling you that something is amiss but nto sayign what. I watched the movie a few days ago and i am compeltly enchanted. It was amazing, i want to see it with friends who havent seen it, and look for their reactions.

  • Anyone else put even more on edge by the happy music?

  • @smma1995 yeah, this could be the first time in history that this happy-go-lucky 1950s music was put to such ironic use.

  • love the ending lol

  • I wish more movie trailers were like this. This trailer gave no HINT at ALL of the shower scene. No one knew that was coming. Trailers today? They show all the funniest parts, the scariest parts, sometimes even ruining the plot twists. Why would we watch the movie if all that were in the trailer? This style is awesome. Maybe a little long drawn for today's standards but seriously, it'd be cool to see trailers not show any actual footage.

  • geez, what a mastermind of suspense, never giving away anything, just building. geeez lol

  • this was an qdvert on tv?

  • RIP: Hitchcock

  • People don't remember, this is not " Alfred Hitchcock's PSYCHO ", it was a novel by Robert Bloch before it ever was a movie.NOT HITCHCOCK'S IDEAS AT ALL !!

  • @MrS98VAC Well, that's not entirely true. The film has a number of differences from the book, as any film adaptation has, and the book was based on Ed Gein, so it wasn't a completely original idea to begin with. So it is Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho because it's his retelling of the story.

  • reminds me of peter jackson's the hobbit production videos..

  • is it worth watching?

  • "good afternoon" <3

  • so ahead of his time...

  • She was the weirdest, and the most... well, let's go into her bedroom

  • because....well lets go on....

because....well lets just say it was too horrible to describe

    because....lets go to the parlor

    this is where....ahh the bathroom

  • The foam mattress mother norma slept on must have been uncomfortable because of it's worn out state causing the imprint of her body on it.

  • GEEZUS!!!!!!!!!! UNEXPECTED!!!

  • Is this on the DVD ?

  • They should make a theme park ride of this film like they did with saw... it would be much scarier

  • Wow, it would be REALLY easy to make a "Psycho" happy version trailer.

  • Day 12 - A Film By Your Least Favorite Director

    Alfred Hitchcock

  • Imagine Michael Bay doing this for his movies...it'd just be dumb! Only Hitchcock!

  • I loved the cheerful music in the background so relaxing.. <3 but then the end shocked me :O. Alfred Hitchcock you were a genius! R.I.P

  • brillant, brillant, brillant. what a way to mess with the mind.

  • It is difficult to describe the way the... the twisting of the... Well, it's...

She was the weirdest, and the mo... Well, let's go to her bedroom.

...Was enough to drive anyone to the extreme of... Uh, well, let's go in.

...There was a private supper here... And, uh... Oh, by the way...

This picture has great significance, because,... Uh, let's go along to cabin #1...

...The whole, the whole place was,... Well, its, it's too horrible to describe, dreadful.

Thanks for all the info, Alfred. :)

  • @HeHepTV I really need to make a parody of this.

  • @HeHepTV That's the genius of it... he's a tease and leaving it all up to the viewer's imagination. Finally, they get to a point where they're like, "Dammit, now I HAVE to know what the hell happened at this hotel!" Otherwise, it's an open loop that gnaws at you -- nobody likes an unsolved mystery.

  • Is that Vera Miles at the end? Also was that her really screaming or was that taken from the audio of the actual film?

  • @MrCure4 Yes, that was Vera Miles in a wig.

  • @davido53 Thank you!

  • Imagine a horror movie advertised like this in these days!

  • NO ONE did coming attractions better than Alfred Hitchcock---the humor is dark and only hints at the conent of the actual film. These should be watched by modern filmmakers as examples of the art of the coming attraction--but I'll bet they are just given to a department that have no imagination whatsoever.

  • Hey guys, we've made a new rock song about this great film, as well as songs about other awesome films such as The Wicker Man and The Departed. Please take some time to listen to some of our stuff :)

  • bathroom XD

  • You know that they couldn't get Janet Leigh for this trailer so they had to use Vera Miles as the stand-in for the shower/scream scene at the end.

  • @bombass2000 No, they used Vera Miles as not to give away a HUGE plot point.

  • @sperrin I am corrected! You're right. The media and Hitchcock himself made it seem as if Janet Leigh was the star and a lot of people actually went to see the movie just for her. He wanted people to think anything could happen during the film, when he killed off a "main" character and the only "major" star 30 minutes into the movie.

  • @bombass2000 He never "killed off" the main character - which begs the question - who do you think the main character is?

  • *All relaxed* Ahhhhhhhh <3

    *ending shows*

    AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH! o.O

  • genius is genius

  • yes good old london lad hitchcock

  • anyone else shit themselves when he pulled back the curtain.

  • gotta love the cheery and pleasant music in the background

  • who else laughs whenever he says "woman" because they know who this "woman" really is? lmbo

  • i like how he doesn't finish any important sentences.

    5.American Psycho (2000)

  • The greatest horror film of all time, in my opinion.

Hitchcock's version also had more color in the film than that awful remake.

  • He never tells us anything!!!!!

That's his style. Its creepy. Its genius

  • i love the typical Hitchcock silhouette on the wall at 5:58

    what a legend

  • Bernard Hermann's musical score was priceles... All Strings!

  • the bathroom

  • Hitchcock is so casual about people dying in the house, it makes me laugh

  • The woman in the shower is Vera Miles, who played Janet Leigh's sister, and who was under personal contract to Hitchcock.

  • ou mister hitchcock, you were a so great horror author, director and actor! you are my hero!! :-)

  • The woman behind the curtain, who screams, is not Janet Leigh. Who actually plays Marion Crane in the film.

  • I have never jumped like when he pulls back the curtain and she screams.

  • I love this! Why did this advertising technique not catch on!

  • @Drmovieskull I don't think that anyone but Hitchcock could pull it off properly.

  • @AnimeFanatic5602 because Hitchcock was a GENIUS!!!!!!

  • @AnimeFanatic5602 i couldn't agree more

  • @Drmovieskull I agree. Very unique. And, considering the nature of the film, I love the innocent sounding 1950's/1960's music throughout. LOL And it's all nice and fair until...Hitchcock pulls the shower curtain back, and...ALL SCARY!!! Awesome.

  • @Drmovieskull probably because it took too long to film, and the vast majority of movie goers wouldn't like to sit through a 6 min. long trailer

  • @GhostyToasty27 I would...If it was as good as this one that is

  • @Drmovieskull Because the new little silly bastards thought they could do 'better', knowing that such a thing does not exist

  • this movie is the best (in my opinian)
