I have two - one I was in the crew - other not. I went to Imperial College (IC) - the call was "lay down the IC law". That got us about a length :-)

The best was the GB Olympic VIII men 2000 - Harry Mahan (Kiwi) had terminal Colorectal cancer. They didn't think he would survive till the games, the boat was named after him. He did survive to the games and with about 350m to go the GB crew were dying - the Cox called out "If Harry can coach you through cancer you can hang on for 1 more minute".

@deezynar Haha, yes, I was coxing an all boys crew. They all just stopped rowing and started laughing hysterically. We were in the middle of the river! :') It was pretty embarrassing...

It's a shame it didn't inspire your crew in the manner you had hoped for but I suppose the circumstances were against it from the beginning.

I'll refrain from asking if you've had more "effective" results using that call since then. ; >

@deezynar Thank you! Haha, I actually haven't used the call since- only in a joke way during circuit training :) That was about 3 months ago and everyone still makes references to it- I still cringe thinking about why I even said it :')
