cormac To continue with your lesson, you don't have to pull the trigger to be responsible. As a child your likely not able to vote yet and don't fully understand what it means to have that right. @ogresinnfein. Sinn fein opposed Lisbon because the effect of common policing would have on it's fund raising " activities " including bird watching and Farc guerillas. Why are so many of your members involved in criminality ? Nothing to do with six counties but to do with smuggling and drug dealing and beating young men to death with iron bars, shooting postman and couriers who challenge their bully tactics. I have seen it all over 40 years so don't lecture me !
And what fund raising activities would that be? Sinn Féin is the only party to publish it's fundraising and financial figures annually. These can be found on the SF website and show in a clear and concise way were all of their funding comes from.
I fail to see why you have a problem with 3 Republicans who took it upon themselves to go to Colombia in order to observe political negotiations to end the Colombian Civil War.

@deadrebel2 well said your dead right, people who voted for lisbon are idiots, funny do no one i know voted yes.and know one assigened to this party voted yes either.
I believe that you Irish were blackmailed into voting again for Lisbon by your politicians and that the vote was tampered with. It was held for 2 days in a "police station" and independent individuals were not allowed access to ensure no tampering occurred.
All people have to realise that there is a war on, all humanity, against a corrupt political and financial world elite.
I can't sinn feinn but at least they are doing something, there's only so far you can push people before they push back, and I'm pretty sure the government don't want to see it's (?) people protest and riot on the scale of the French?
Nope not a Garda's offspring, but nice to see that you are as able to engage in reasonable calm debate witout resorting to profanities as you are able to engage in "peaceful" protests by forcing your way into Government builldings. Ive never given a Garda a reason to hit me with a baton as I know not to break the law in the first instance and dont go out to break it specifically. How you are aware of my level of educational qualificatons is an interesting question (have BA & 2 MScs)....
You're an idiot because with all your qualifications you fail to see the point.
People have a right and an OBLIGATION to protest.
So you never put yourself in the way of a Garda retractable baton, good for you for being a sheep. The Irish people need to grow a spine and it's not with apathetic thinkers like you that anything is going to change.
Rising up and breaking the law is fine if the govt. steps out of line.
@Swissynopants oh no I get it alright, absolutely people have a right to protest, lots of people do it every day of the week and I aplaud them, if the protestors in the video above could do so in a dignified fashion like most respectable members of the public who protest there wouldnt have been an issue. But no they pushed and shoved and wanted to be treated with respect - it goes both ways...
Would you mind telling me how this protest was in breach of any law?
For someone who alleges to have third level qualifications you don't seem very smart.
Or are you a supporter of some kind of fascist state were protests are banned? No doubt on Bloody Sunday you would have defended those who shot protesters. Good man.
@OgraShinnFein absolutely no problem at all I'm happy to be of assistance. I have only a rudimentary knowledge of the law unfortunately, so you'll have to be patient with me. How the protest was in breach of the law in my humble opinion was the protestors were in contravention of Section 8 of the Public Order Act, ie failure to follow the direction of a Garda and leave an area in a peaceful manner and to desist acting in a disorderly fashion in a public place. Not 100% but think thats it
All the violence was conducted from the state side. The Garda did no give any direction, he merely attacked peaceful demonstrators. I don't think anybody was acting disorderly, afterall they were taking part in a protest which they are entitled to do under Irish law. As Aengus is a TD he has every right to be on the premesis along with his guests (all 25 of them).
the only demonstration of violence here is from the police/gardai... considering the inherent violence of the state i think the peaceful protesters did a great job of staying peaceful... when the government & banks are causing the people poverty its hardly surprising people want a means to have meaningful (& peaceful) protests
What you are witnessing here, the Sickning Brutal Beatings being perpetrated on Peacefull Protesters is nothing new to anybody who Dares to Protest on the streets of the so called FREE STATE (sic) I myself was hospitalised at the hands of these Thugs and Bully Boys of the Free State (sic) make no mistake the 26 Counties is nothing more than a Sham a Shame, and a place where the Gardai Siochanna think nothing of splitting a persons head open, as they did with me, Same on the Gardai Shame onyou
Come on lads, the Garda had a job to do and he did it as he was supposed to. An angry and hostile crowd were forcing their way into the national assembly, forcing your way, pushing and shoving your way into a place you have no legal entitlement to be while shouting "peaceful protest" is a load of crap. The Gardai when threatened by an angy mob have the legal right to take out and use their batons, which he did, the Sinners were looking to make political capital, thats all.
@LaoisSpartan Are you fucking a Garda's Offspring by any chance? The cop has a helmet on his head and a full face helmet at that was there anybody in the croud hitting him with a fucking baton? have You ever recieved a blow from a cops Baton? did you know its against the Law (sic) to hit another human being on the Head with a Baton, but they do it, and get away with it, you sound like a very uneducated person look at some of the Shell to sea vids You are living in a Police State catch yourself o
While everyone else is cosily curled up on the sofa in front of a plasma TV. These people are actually getting their arses into motion in order to get scumbags out of power and save Ireland from selling itself to the all mighty IMF. With Ireland's apathetic attitude we're just going to be under imperialistic rule, once again.
Everywhere else in Europe protests and demonstrations are active and alive only in Ireland do we eat the shit that gets served to us from up high.
Some of the comments about the Garda on this video is sickening, these individuals have taken up a position involving the protection and enforcement of the law, also with regards the protest is it peaceful if you force your way on the premises then shout "peaceful protest" after ?
This Garda was a typical state thug who used excessive force.
Nobody forced there way anywhere, the gates were unlocked and it is state buildings owned by the people. They have every right to have a peaceful sit down protest on the property.
The intention was to enter the premises and conduct a sit down protest. How does one force their way into an unlocked premises exactly? They simply opened the gate.
@OgraShinnFein State thug ? Your insulting someone who is only doing their job, how is he a thug if he has to control a situation like that on his own for a period of time.
On that "nobody forced there way " I think if you pause the video at 57 seconds it clearly says
"Around 25 protesters broke through the gates of the Taoiseach building in central Dublin"
Hardly see why you'd upload a video claiming you broke in when your now saying you just walked in. Or did you forget to edit it out ?
Hitting people with a baton when they are presenting no physical threat towards him is excessive force.
Where you there? Nope. The gates were unlocked and as it is state buildings, people have every right to have a peaceful sit down protest without being attacked by thugs in uniform. This thug, Garda B-334 , will no doubt be looking for public sympathy when his wages are cut at next month's budget.
Most of the people here saw a Garda attacking a peaceful demo
And you would deny a man sympathy who has had his wages cut in hard times and is putting himself in harms way to uphold the law.
Where you there ? As far as I no you were not. The gates were unlocked but you'd still have to open them, you were not invited onto the premises and the gates were not open upon arrival.
Also you never answered my question about the video, were it says you broke in.
@OgraShinnFein you are all that is wrong with this country your party has no mandate and failed miserably to secure any public confidence. you then jump at the chance at a weakened government to show your ability to protest "peacefully". all the while spouting your indoctrined bullshit at the rest of the country who are sick of you and neirigi and all the rest of your political and paramilitary factions. go away and die we as a nation have no use for your type of politics.
Well while you are entitled to your opinion (however moronic), it is up to the people of Ireland to decide who they vote. And with Sinn Féin getting 1 out of every 8 votes in the south and one out of every 4 in the north (making us the 3rd largest party in the entire country) I think you'll find we are wanted, and it is people like yourself ,who support state violence, attacks on working class people and budget cuts, that are no longer wanted.
Well done Garda in helmet. Took on the might of Sinn Fein waving a stick ! Aongus, having the face of a pig will not frighten one with a stick ( old Irish saying ) Ha Ha you thick fcuk !
The EU Working Tine Directive states that the legal limit is 48hrs. So Irish labour will have to work a minimum of a 48hr week and be taxed more, to clear the debt of their social contract economy. So it's back to the coalface for the Shutdown Nation as represented by this rent-a-mob, of the usual suspects, for refusing to feel the force and push through with the intensity of the Protestant work ethic that has built Germany to where it can bail out Ireland, and is now building China.
Another Robocop hero, Should be knocking seven shades of ***** out of the corrupt, incompetent muppets who have destroyed this small beautiful country of ours. Is that Dermot Aherne under the helmet as any decent citizen of ou our country could see that this corrupt system has bestowed billions of euro of debt on children and our grandchildren. Its now time for self preservation. The celtic tiger only called on the so called elite of this country, all the rest of us seen, was the GREEDY PIG.
It's a pity the Gardai keep forgetting that they work for the Irish taxpayers and not just the government. These are the same lads that wanted the public support less than a year ago.
how were an 'angry mob held back by alone police officer' it was a peaceful protest, the Garda was aggressive and violent who attacked aTD and tried to incite the crowd, pictures say it all. Cowan out!
These : Characters: are going to have to be challenged, this menace to IRISH society, this :subspecies: It is every persons right to hold a ' DEMOCRATIC' protest

Ive never given a Garda a reason to hit me with a baton as I know not to break the law in the first instance and dont go out to break it specifically. How you are aware of my level of educational qualificatons is an interesting question (have BA & 2 MScs)....

@LaoisSpartan You're still an idiot.
Swissynopants 1 year ago
@Swissynopants many thanks for your insightful and detailed feedback, glad to see you too can engage in thoughtful and respectful debate.
LaoisSpartan 1 year ago
@LaoisSpartan You're welcome!
Swissynopants 1 year ago
@Swissynopants oh no I get it alright, absolutely people have a right to protest, lots of people do it every day of the week and I aplaud them, if the protestors in the video above could do so in a dignified fashion like most respectable members of the public who protest there wouldnt have been an issue. But no they pushed and shoved and wanted to be treated with respect - it goes both ways...
LaoisSpartan 1 year ago
@LaoisSpartan
Would you mind telling me how this protest was in breach of any law?
For someone who alleges to have third level qualifications you don't seem very smart.
Or are you a supporter of some kind of fascist state were protests are banned? No doubt on Bloody Sunday you would have defended those who shot protesters. Good man.
OgraShinnFein 1 year ago 3
@OgraShinnFein absolutely no problem at all I'm happy to be of assistance. I have only a rudimentary knowledge of the law unfortunately, so you'll have to be patient with me. How the protest was in breach of the law in my humble opinion was the protestors were in contravention of Section 8 of the Public Order Act, ie failure to follow the direction of a Garda and leave an area in a peaceful manner and to desist acting in a disorderly fashion in a public place. Not 100% but think thats it
LaoisSpartan 1 year ago
@LaoisSpartan
OgraShinnFein 1 year ago
@OgraShinnFein you're comment about Bloody Sunday is beneath contempt and I wont dignify such shite with a response.
LaoisSpartan 1 year ago
@LaoisSpartan
Why is that? You apparently support state forces attacking people involved in political demonstrations.
On Bloody Sunday Brit state forces attacked demosntrators who they claimed acted violently during an illegal march.
OgraShinnFein 1 year ago
the only demonstration of violence here is from the police/gardai... considering the inherent violence of the state i think the peaceful protesters did a great job of staying peaceful... when the government & banks are causing the people poverty its hardly surprising people want a means to have meaningful (& peaceful) protests

Oglaigh32 1 year ago
Come on lads, the Garda had a job to do and he did it as he was supposed to. An angry and hostile crowd were forcing their way into the national assembly, forcing your way, pushing and shoving your way into a place you have no legal entitlement to be while shouting "peaceful protest" is a load of crap. The Gardai when threatened by an angy mob have the legal right to take out and use their batons, which he did, the Sinners were looking to make political capital, thats all.
LaoisSpartan 1 year ago
@LaoisSpartan Are you fucking a Garda's Offspring by any chance? The cop has a helmet on his head and a full face helmet at that was there anybody in the croud hitting him with a fucking baton? have You ever recieved a blow from a cops Baton? did you know its against the Law (sic) to hit another human being on the Head with a Baton, but they do it, and get away with it, you sound like a very uneducated person look at some of the Shell to sea vids You are living in a Police State catch yourself o

@LaoisSpartan Oh thank god, someone else noticed what was going on in the video.

True heroes,
While everyone else is cosily curled up on the sofa in front of a plasma TV.

JiggyMcYourfriend 1 year ago
@JiggyMcYourfriend
This Garda was a typical state thug who used excessive force.
Nobody forced there way anywhere, the gates were unlocked and it is state buildings owned by the people. They have every right to have a peaceful sit down protest on the property.
OgraShinnFein 1 year ago 11
@OgraShinnFein 1.03 looks exactly like they forced their way in, from there on doesn't look anything like a peaceful "sitdown" protest as you put it.
oranhasafathead 1 year ago
@oranhasafathead
The intention was to enter the premises and conduct a sit down protest. How does one force their way into an unlocked premises exactly? They simply opened the gate.
OgraShinnFein 1 year ago
@OgraShinnFein State thug ? Your insulting someone who is only doing their job, how is he a thug if he has to control a situation like that on his own for a period of time.
On that "nobody forced there way " I think if you pause the video at 57 seconds it clearly says
"Around 25 protesters broke through the gates of the Taoiseach building in central Dublin"
Hardly see why you'd upload a video claiming you broke in when your now saying you just walked in. Or did you forget to edit it out ?
JiggyMcYourfriend 1 year ago
@JiggyMcYourfriend
OgraShinnFein 1 year ago
@OgraShinnFein
Cthulhu for 2011 !
JiggyMcYourfriend 1 year ago
@OgraShinnFein you are all that is wrong with this country your party has no mandate and failed miserably to secure any public confidence. you then jump at the chance at a weakened government to show your ability to protest "peacefully". all the while spouting your indoctrined bullshit at the rest of the country who are sick of you and neirigi and all the rest of your political and paramilitary factions. go away and die we as a nation have no use for your type of politics.
bghamer11 1 year ago
@bghamer11
