Yes, take the pedals off and let him push it around for a fews days/weeks. You can tell when he has the balance and skill to put the pedals back on. Once they learn to balance just have him take a few steps or bunny hops and put his feet on the pedal closest to the front tire. A hand placed strategically in the small of their back can help give momentum. Don't grab the bike as they have already learned to balance. Good luck....

omg. just take off the pedals and let him run and learn to balance. then stick the pedals back on and he'll be able to ride.
