Nice! You can actually save time at the chamber at 2 mins by airwalking over to the platform. After you get to the end of the rat infested hallway you don't jump into the water but instead use the ledge behind you to preform the air walk.

When reaching the last chamber, have you tried going to the opposite scion switch first? The idea would be to avoid touching the floor until you opened the end path. Would it be possible to retrace your way using the grappling ring?

Can anyone please give me the full step-by-step guide on how to do the glitch from 1:40-1:45? I really want to learn how to do it, I've tried many times and it doesn't seem to work. Do I need to unlocked by doing something else, or should Lara automatically do the glitch when I get down to the sphinx? Please help!

Doesn't do too much. I think you can roll the rats over with it, not sure. You can also bring it all the way down and push it to the feet of one of the statues, to use instead of one of the boxes, to create a little shortcut.

Well I just tried this cheat and I was able to get on the statues hand. However it looks like the bug is fixed where you jump from the statue hand to the wall, then get to the other side. I have been trying for 8 hours and it does not work. I don't care if it is a cheat or not I want to get through this level and time trial. Well, now since the bug is fixed that will not be possible.

Gersijbers, he isn't doing a big jump. When he jumps off the ledge, and does a wall run (grapple), then he jumps to the ledge behind him on a new pillar... this jump is a bit buggy at times... and a bit fustrating, but you eventually get used to it!

I used the big shortcut for my time trial. Cause I hated those latters that go down and activate the bridge. I always do the shortcut to avoid those things. lol

And I agree, a speedrun is exactly that, a SPEED RUN! The point is to get through the level as fast as possible, and all the more to you if you come across a helpful little "bug". It's not that it's offensive to think otherwise, it's just annoying. If you want to challenge yourself with various disadvantages then that's fine, but don't be jealous of someone who can pull off a good run with the help of a glitch or two.

I can't do one of the pillar jumps at the last bit (the one after the gold ring wall run) I just can't seem to get her to jump to the side..any tips?

You mean you have trouble jumping away from the wall? Well, that is a bit tricky... How I do it is, after starting running left by pressing left, I move the camera to the right, so Lara is running away from it. And while holding left, which now is the direction away from the wall, I press jump. There are many ways to do it consistently, that's just one. Try different things and see what works for you.

Not necessarily. Firstly, just spotting these glitch spots means that the player is pretty smart, secondly, exploiting them isn't exactly easy, it takes skill. Thirdly, it IS still a valid speedrun. You don't decide the rules of a speedrun, and Riku didn't claim that she didn't use glitches. If this were set out as a no-glitch speedrun, then yes, she would be a cheater and this wouldn't be valid. But that isn't the case here.

A speedrun can be glitchless or glitched, and the times incomparable between each other.

The engine in this game doesn't automatically make textures and solid geometry match. They are modeled separately as far as I understand. There are untextured walls around the levels, as well as holes in faces of texture within the levels. There is no glitch there, it's a perfectly valid texture face that hasn't been made solid by the developers for some reason, whatever it may be.

All the views I've seen have merit, but beware of thinking your personal choices should somehow apply to everyone.

We should have general principles for categories, like "I reject physically impossible moves, such as the corner bug." Or "Modifying the game with special programs or codes are disallowed." But these would require further debate.

As a practical matter, people can just state what they allow. Hell, it's common to make up all kinds of limits, like "pistols only."

I don't feel the "cheater" comments were offensive, but nonetheless you are right in it's not cheating. It's the designers' fault they left a hole in the wall above the door. The existence of the ledge next to it makes it seem it was done on purpose too. Go figure... :P
