@billymayer1000 I'ts not a big deal since straws are disposable. It works perfect for sucking out all the small stuff that is a pain to get with a needle. Clearly this fits perfect with the Macgyver soundtrack... using an item for something other then the obvious. The fact that a straw can go in your mouth has nothing to do with it.
@billymayer1000 I think you mis-understood my comment, Im talking about using an actual vacum cleaner. Not sucking with your mouth. And forcing all the suction to come from the straw, instead of a rather large everyday vacum hose. So all the gunk would get sucked into the vacum cleaner like normal.
@hunterharkins on second thought, I think sucking it up into your moith is cooler. Instead of sucking it, wouldnt it make more sense to use some compressed air?
Get a vacum that has a tube, and get a plastic bag, and straw. poke a small hole in the center of the bag, smaller then the straw, and then push the straw through that hole, keeping the hole air tight around the straw. stick one end of the straw in through the vacum tube, the bag should cover the vacum tube, so that all the sucking power is through the straw. Pinch the open end of the straw, it will hold together, creating a very strong thin vacum that will fit inside all the Knives grooves
man I get that thing into my mouth every now and then how the hell am I supposed to clean dirt with it, besides where you pass the toothpick is not the dirtiest part of the knife,
Can you use oilve oil? I guess you can because I oil I use it on all my "working" knives and have never had an issue with it. I tend to cut food at least some of the time with them and so dont like machine oil near the blade. I suspect that you need to oil more often then synthetic but i do mine 2x a year and no probs.
As kid had a SAK i FOUND in a mud puddle and i NEVER EVER oiled or cleaned it- worked for years until I re- lost it.
wd-40 is toxic. Use a bit of light machine oil instead. Olive oil is not good at all, becouse it is prone to evaporate. It will be gone in 1-2 weeks. Hope this helped.

@GOLDDEAGS it actually says "extend each implement halfway and apply a few drops of oil at the base of each implement. for implement that do not move easily open and close a few times in warm water, then dry and oil".
Great movie ! Polish victorinox portals and shops recommend it ! Professional tutorial how to take care of a pocket knife. It really helped me...And I think your English is good :)

Hi. The saw is sharpened by laser technology, It should stay sharp for very long time (according to frequency of using) I wouldn't say there is a easy way for regular user to sharp this saw. I would ask an official distributor of Victorinox knives in my country. Or ask some professional cutler for help, but even if he manage to sharp this saw some way, it will never be the same as it came from the factory.
If my knife was precious to me, I would send it direct to Victorinox in Switzerland and ask them for changing the saw for new one. But you should definitely write them an e-mail and ask them if it's possible. I don't know if they want some charges for this, but I've heard a few time, that somebody send them their knives for repair after extreme damage and they send new one or completely repaired knife for free. (Same experience e.g. with Zippo products) Bye
I sent mine back to the factory about seven years ago (three years after purchuse) because of a sligthly rusted main blade. I got it back a few weeks later with new blade, cleaned to the bones, no charge, no questions asked.
This is the service a company who respects their products gives.
@Blackriton That's just Great! Thanks for sharing this experience. This company realy knows its customers best! This highlights Victorinox's prestige.
Great video! It would be good to have a video where you use the tools! There are some tools I would like to learn to use, like the reamer with sewing eye. Thanks!
use an old tooth brush on the joints with a little simple green, open all blades, use a flat artist brush with simple green inside. Rinse with hot water, shake dry. Lube with a few drops of tri flow. wipe it all down, your done for six months. Oh, lansky sharpeners will give a razor edge if you follow the instructions, they have a groove in the holder perfect for the swiss blades, jerome
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you fail! you dont know what your doing or talking about. first off your dumb for assuming that just because its a victorinox brand knife means that you HAVE to use victorinox maintenance products. second you dont know how to sharpen. third you use WAAAY too much oil. and third that water trick wont work. the dirt and grime needs a degreaser. not water. that does virtually nothing.
because i know what im doing.. and how to do such things. i meant fourth btw. and im guessing your just as dumb and uneducated about knives as he is by replying to my comment in such a manner. im right. you and him are wrong. deal with it.
no my friend, you fail your the most useless, trollish wanker on the planet. he probably uses victorinox products because theyre some of the highest qaulity knife maintenence brands on the idiot. water will work, you dont need degreaser, and the amount of oil he used was pretty much spot on. now go away, you silly little man.
Nice vid man, i've got a Swisschamp for half a year now and i'm very happy with it. I just bought the sharpener you suggested and it works like a charm.
I would like to ask you if you know a way to easily sharpen the scissors or are the self-sharpening?
Hi, Well I would sharpen that scissors in the same way as knives blades are sharpened - in the right angle (I would say 20°). But only if its necessarily. But I'm sure that scissors remains sharp for long time. Bye

hi do you know how to sharpen a victorinox saw blade
50cliber 1 year ago

@84548
Hi,
I sent mine back to the factory about seven years ago (three years after purchuse) because of a sligthly rusted main blade. I got it back a few weeks later with new blade, cleaned to the bones, no charge, no questions asked.
This is the service a company who respects their products gives.

Great video! It would be good to have a video where you use the tools! There are some tools I would like to learn to use, like the reamer with sewing eye. Thanks!
I have the Victorinox Explorer.

use an old tooth brush on the joints with a little simple green, open all blades, use a flat artist brush with simple green inside. Rinse with hot water, shake dry. Lube with a few drops of tri flow. wipe it all down, your done for six months. Oh, lansky sharpeners will give a razor edge if you follow the instructions, they have a groove in the holder perfect for the swiss blades, jerome

This comment has received too many negative votes show
you fail! you dont know what your doing or talking about. first off your dumb for assuming that just because its a victorinox brand knife means that you HAVE to use victorinox maintenance products. second you dont know how to sharpen. third you use WAAAY too much oil. and third that water trick wont work. the dirt and grime needs a degreaser. not water. that does virtually nothing.

because i know what im doing.. and how to do such things. i meant fourth btw. and im guessing your just as dumb and uneducated about knives as he is by replying to my comment in such a manner. im right. you and him are wrong. deal with it.
hxcmthrfcka 2 years ago
no my friend, you fail your the most useless, trollish wanker on the planet. he probably uses victorinox products because theyre some of the highest qaulity knife maintenence brands on the idiot. water will work, you dont need degreaser, and the amount of oil he used was pretty much spot on. now go away, you silly little man.

Nice vid man, i've got a Swisschamp for half a year now and i'm very happy with it. I just bought the sharpener you suggested and it works like a charm.
I would like to ask you if you know a way to easily sharpen the scissors or are the self-sharpening?
bugsiiy 2 years ago
Hi, Well I would sharpen that scissors in the same way as knives blades are sharpened - in the right angle (I would say 20°). But only if its necessarily. But I'm sure that scissors remains sharp for long time. Bye
