Making the transition to a Muslim lifestyle has been a journey of cleansing out all the rubbish that I used to create unhappiness with (e.g., alcohol). Assalamu alaikum muslimadowman: I dont believe that words will ever be able 2 give you a full description of the emotions that swept over me when my eyes 1st met the kabah. Before I reverted to Islam I read about the 5 pillars of faith & my dream was 2 go 4 hajj & see the kabah. When it was crystallized I smiled 4 joy, then wept continuously, then stood in awe over how a house built 4 Allah swt can instantaneously make a pilgrim, who was once a disbeliever, display a wave of emotions over it.

Then when I went 2 masjid Nawabi in Medina & gave my salams 2 the prophet (saw), once again a wave of emotions erupted from me because I was actually on a piece of paradise! If you have not made hajj muslimadowman, I hope that you will get to experience all the glorious emotions that come with seeing the kabah & visiting the grave of the prophet (saw) when Allah swt calls your name 4 hajj, inshaAllah. Allahu akbar.

One of the explanations for the meaning of hajj mabruk by our scholars is that you will become a better person after performing hajj. And you know what? I want to go back & do hajj again because it has to be one of the most satisfying processes, regarding worshipping Allah swt, that I have ever participated in! Makkah and Madina are two cities which are part of muslim faith and Allah and his prophet has prohibited building any place of worship, except masjid, in these two cities. I don't think its very hard to understand. Makkah is the birth place of Islam and its foundation was built on 'submiting to one Creator only'. May Allha guide all of us towards the true path, Islam.
