I wish it would flip all aver so I can sit both screens together instead of the main screen facing up... I work in Construction so i don't like the screen to be exposed all the time
the concept of this phone is fantastic but the design is so ugly & bulky...htc needs to make one of these bad boys kyocera put in good effort but still not quite there i would love to play with one of these though
I think this could be sprint's best phone if they fix the design and size. Think of the shift, but with this flip design. Maybe they can add dual-sticks for gaming. It was hard playing assassins creed with touchscreen sticks. Play a game on the bottom screen while watching a movie.
Stop bashing this phone. I had an evo that I modded with cyanogen mod 7 and this phone is better than that. All you stupid iPhone fan boys can suck it because the iPhone is a epic fail!
So please don't call it ugly or stupid untill you play with it in person.
@xbox23007 your just mad that android phones will never have as good of a touch screen as an iphone. i used many android phones and i think they are horrible, they are laggy and the touch screen is just awful. and i didnt use a shitty adroid phone either, it had a 1ghz processor, 512 mb of ram, etc etc. same specs as my iphone 4.
try holding the phone with both hands in landscape mode with the thumbs on these chrome desing platforms. then just slide it up like a keyboard phone. and for the tabled mode do the same. i would rly like to see if that works.
That phone reminds me of the Dreamcast... it's probably the first of many phones that will have this form factor but it's only polished in all the wrong ways. Good for a first round though.
Yeah buddy I got a tablet in my pocket... Yes beauty is in the eye of the the beholder. Get one for yourself and make up your own mind, quit listening to these fools. If I had listened to these idiots I wouldn't be enjoying my huge frickin onscreen keyboard right now posting this comment.
Oh and by the way the Nintendo DS crap is getting old... Give it up its not funny anymore! lol be cool and quit copying what you here from everyone else and get your own joke. Believe it or not people at my work think this phone looks badass and they keep on asking me about it. Oh and I never even used the 4g on my Evo so who cares if its only 3g, 4g was spotty and could never hang on to the signal anyway. The space between the two screens isn't that bad believe me you get used to it.
Regardless of what people think I love this device. I have been using this phone for a couple of days now and I can honestly say when I first got it I was slightly disappointed coming from my Evo but this is one of the best phones I have ever owned. There are alot of people talking crap about this phone but believe me its solid built, and to me never gets old. It all depends on the person. If you think you might like it, try it! After all you still have 30 days to return it if you don't.
@toonygamer2004 When you can see the chassis bend like that, that means it has that much leeway to bend, and that bending leeway makes it easier to break.
So unless its reinforced with carbon steel, you could snap that folding mechanism in half when its in the tilt.
And yes, I have used a display model within the last few hours. Its just as flimsy as it looks, not to mention its hideous, especially with that chrome.
Its like the mutant offspring of a ghetto-fabulous slider and a Nintendo DS.
@toonygamer2004 No, I don't think its strong enough. It may be 'strong', but its' structural integrity has much to be desired.
The carbon steel comment was facetiousness on my part - it needs to be more straightforward with a 100% fixed pathway on its folding mechanism. There is too much leeway, and/or its too "loose", to sum it up.
Even if it were stronger, I still wouldn't get it though.
It's an interesting idea, but the execution wasn't as great as I would have hoped. They had to skimp on build-quality and user-friendliness to get the dual screens there.
Oh, in the video description: "Kyocera did a pretty COULD job"?
2% a minute battery drain D: fuck that! i was actually looking forward to this, just cus its different to everything else (phone wise) but now... well, i hope other companies take this idea and make it usable

I won't lie, it's a great idea and I could see it being good in the future.
beerad875 10 months ago
Brandon--At 7:50, you described the hinge.
Top screen has joints where it swivels/locks with the hinge.
Below those joints is an indentation, or curved build on the hinge.
That's where I place my middle fingers as leverage to snap
the phone from tablet mode to a one screen phone.
--
So--in tablet mode, push the screen away, of course so that it
creates a bigger gap between both screens, and then place
both middle fingers on indentations of hinge. Pull toward yourself.
Then fold top screen over.

y do sd cards have different classes?
Jeremiahjones32 10 months ago
@Jeremiahjones32 because they have different speeds.
tomasasaz 10 months ago
@Jeremiahjones32
Each class is configured with it's own write speeds.
Typically the higher the class, the higher the write speeds.
Write speeds meaning how fast it's able to store the picture you
just took with your camera, or how fast it's able to write the 500
pictures your transfering from your computer to the card--just a couple of examples.

Yeah, that's true --but that's not the point.
The important feedback from Brandon on what he thinks
about the hardware is the entire video, including the
display being turned on.

You should take it for a 20 minute spin at the store.
Surprisingly the opposite of flimsy.

So, you got to feel the hinge and the overall quality
of the phone, and you don't think the design is sturdy enough?
I agree with how it looks. Not really appealing.

toonygamer2004 10 months ago
@toonygamer2004 No, I don't think its strong enough. It may be 'strong', but its' structural integrity has much to be desired.
