  • This reminds me of Kapustin's concert etude n. 7 somehow! Though it probably ought to be the other way around.

Maybe you could play Kapustin's condert etude n.7! xD

    That would be pretty interesting.

  • This somehow reminds me of the Concert Etude n. 7 by Nikolai Kapustin. Though I suppose it ought to be the other way around.

Maybe you could perform that too? It would be interesting to see you play Kapustin xD

  • Wow !! That was amazing , thanks for sharing that !! ( ;

    very inspiring .

  • GREAT wonderful song ^^

  • is it called the viper's drag then?

  • Yes, then and now.

  • For a while there your sleeve blended in with the background, looked like thing from the adams family was jamming xD

  • lol

  • Is there sheet music to this???

  • yes....check ebay for Fats Waller piano Folios.

  • Simply amazing! How long have you been playing?

  • Long enough to know better.......lol.

I have been a professional pianist since I was 16 yrs old in L.A. I took my first piano lesson in 1959.

  • This is a bluesy version of the "Hall of the Mountain King" by Grieg.

  • Actually it was Fats Waller's idea to include Grieg in his left hand-the rest of us just continue the tribute.

  • Awesome playing. So exuberant. I wish I could buy your album through the amazon mp3 store.

  • Man, if you are ever giving lessons in Philadelphia PA, please let me know. Its been a year and a half since I had a teacher and having one as skilled as you could really help me clean up my ragtime.

  • I need to learn this tune for next week. I don't play piano yet, so is there any quick way to get started?

  • Next week? No problem, Fanfardon. Remember, there are only 88 keys - all you have to do is hit them in the right order. Sit down in front of a piano and move your hands just like Jim does in the video. You'll have the hang of it in no time. Post your results!

  • You're an amazing player! Keep it up!

  • so...how many drinks can u have and still recognizably play that? lol

  • Great as always, Jim. It's always pleasure to listen (and watch!)

  • Thank you very much!

  • Wow, man--what great fun to listen to! And clearly for you to play, too! Is that part of "Hall of the Mountain KIng" in the first minute?

    Best wishes from northwest PA.

  • Yes, the Edvard Grieg quote comes from Fats Wallers sense of humor........

  • I loove the way u change the mood at 2:54

  • Swing it Daddy-O. Fantastic

  • wow that's so cool

  • wow man that was very good

  • to me,starting from 1:30 + everything was like a rollercoaster ride to me!XD

    this is rly awesome!

  • Man great job as always! Your'e one with the piano.

If one only could have lived when Fats lived. This is such incredible music.
