whine whine cry, if you stay in good shape and practice regularly it should be no problem. Don't firefighters have more dangerous things to worry about then if they will get hurt lifting a ladder.
Rember if you think you can or if you think you can't you're right.
yea, that don't look right, that ladder weighs 75% of what this little guy weighs, hes gonna throw his back out, THEN go out on disability the REST of his life...lol ...I knew a FF that did that...he collects a check for life, plus everything else......last thing: I wanted to see you climb it...you pussy-ass
yea but when u r short on man power and u only got 3 ppl on the truck with an entrapment what u gona do keep the search team from going in? to help ladder the building? dont think so not all companies r paid soo we ant all guarentied man power right away
Honestly, if you are undermanned and need to get the ladder yourself, drag it like a sled. This is an easy way to mess up your back and then your crew is even worse shape.
Very nice video but i suggest trying the method with a 2 section or smaller ladder first. Just to at least get down the movement and hand placements. I love how everybody is complaining about how its just a good way to get hurt, but its a great technique to know should the situation ever come up. In most cases do it with 2 people but you never know what you might be faced with. Also if you can do that with a 3 section, you can throw a 2 section alone no problem. Keep it up!
Morgan, you are right! It is a good evolution by one person, but not a safe way to do it. Overexertion can lead to getting hurt on the job and you will be useless at a fire if that happens
Impressive, but I need to see some cable guy videos. I use a 28' fiberglass numerous times a day. Always glad to learn as much as I can about that which is holding my ass safe way the hell up in the air.
I guess I'm too old for that stuff. 107lbs. Oooff.
Nice job. Informative.

Is this somewhere in the NFPA? Why wouldn't you just do a low carry? He's already breathing hard and he isn't on the roof yet!

My chief would ream me a new if i did something like that, never carry a 3 beam ladder by our self you'll be exhausted just doing it

@vmaxchevy08 its always good to know how to get something done if your by yourself though. i would definitely save that as my last possible choice.

For back safety, this would be better done using more leg than back to start the motion; then let physics take over. Nice job however
