i really feel sorry for the people who dont believe. they havnt been around long enough to know how wonderful life was before government came along and got into every aspect of everyones lives. I'm stunned at how many churches and ministries don't really understand what salvation is. The tell-tale sign is when they constantly say "Ask God to forgive you and He will" as if forgiveness is tantamount to salvation. 1 John 2:2 says that Jesus has taken away the sins of the entire world (not just believers). Salvation is not about getting forgiven, it is about receiving the resurrected Life of Jesus. John 10:10. Repentance simply means changing your mind about JESUS, not your sins.

And as I stated before, basing morality solely on fear of punishment or hope for reward is selfish and of bad intention. I don't follow laws out of fear of going to jail; I follow them because I see no need to harm others or myself. Life isn't as systematic as Western theology believes...it's not a mere test of morality. There are countless variables and ideologies for how people live their lives, and I will live my life by doing good, with good intentions, and no need to fear what is uncertain.
Only a person of knowledge and wisdom will admit that they have uncertainty. It is the ignorant and foolish ones who believe that they are certain about what cannot be proven to be fact.
"2 + 2 = 4" is a fact because it has been proven and no observation denies that result.
"You will be damned if you don't repent" is an opinion based on faith, because no observation has proven it to be true and could never prove it to be true because it is after death, and solely a blind belief.

This guy barely knows what he's talking about. Everything he says is his own interpretation of the Bible. The problem with the Bible is that there are versus that benefit everyone, and merely quoting it or reciting what you hear in church does proves irrelevant in a debate. Even Christians can't agree on which parts of the Bible are true, because there is no truth, just various ways of worshiping a deity.
It seems that basing morals out of fear of damnation or hope for reward is very selfish. You say I'm selfish for living my life with what I've been given, yet I base my morality on principles that all humans share. Imagine you have two children: You tell one child that if he lies, he'll be punished but if he is honest, he'll will be rewarded. You say nothing to the other child. Both children are honest, one out of fear and one simply because it's the right thing to do; who has more morality?
Do people really think they can live anyway they want ,sin all they want ,be as perverted as they want and not think they have to pay a price of punishment? foolish people foolish.

Funny how when it comes to "The End", the religious focus on the faults of others and not themselves. There is so much I would lose by converting to an organized religion. Firstly, I would lose my self-esteem, believing that everything I do is wrong. And as I stated before, basing morality solely on fear of punishment or hope for reward is selfish and of bad intention. I don't follow laws out of fear of going to jail; I follow them because I see no need to harm others or myself. Life isn't as systematic as Western theology believes...it's not a mere test of morality. There are countless variables and ideologies for how people live their lives, and I will live my life by doing good, with good intentions, and no need to fear what is uncertain.

Only a person of knowledge and wisdom will admit that they have uncertainty. It is the ignorant and foolish ones who believe that they are certain about what cannot be proven to be fact.
"2 + 2 = 4" is a fact because it has been proven and no observation denies that result.
"You will be damned if you don't repent" is an opinion based on faith, because no observation has proven it to be true and could never prove it to be true because it is after death, and solely a blind belief.

This guy barely knows what he's talking about. Everything he says is his own interpretation of the Bible. The problem with the Bible is that there are versus that benefit everyone, and merely quoting it or reciting what you hear in church does proves irrelevant in a debate. Even Christians can't agree on which parts of the Bible are true, because there is no truth, just various ways of worshiping a deity.

You say I'm selfish for living my life with what I've been given, yet I base my morality on principles that all humans share. Imagine you have two children: You tell one child that if he lies, he'll be punished but if he is honest, he'll will be rewarded. You say nothing to the other child. Both children are honest, one out of fear and one simply because it's the right thing to do; who has more morality?

Funny how when it comes to "The End", the religious focus on the faults of others and not themselves. In fact, as I've said before, people throughout time have always thought the "end was near" when in reality, they are just continuing to minimize their bias towards other people by hiding behind tradition, scripture, and nonsensical fear. It's not that people think that they can do whatever they want, we believe that you should just live and let others live.

There is so much I would lose by converting to an organized religion. Firstly, I would lose my self-esteem, believing that everything I do is wrong. Second, I wouldn't be able to express my individuality and live the only life I have happily, and third, I would lose my mind by believing in an idea that people have been killed in the name of, despite the fact that none of the senses or reason can detect such an idea. I don't base truth on faith, I choose to accept that I only know what I observe.

Truth and religion do not coincide with each other given that they are both on separate ends of the faith spectrum. Meaning, the whole point in religion is to have faith (the belief that something undetectable via the five senses, or even common sense, exists). To state that "Hell exists" is to mix fact with faith, which leads to the assumption that your belief is better than others because yours is fact, although nothing has proved it more truthful than any other belief.

I doubt that what you hear in church and what you read in scripture has little influence on your belief. Luckily, I was raised by agnostics, and I have traveled extensively only to understand that there are people of many races, religions, sexual orientations, etc. and to see diversity and variance in culture as inferior or sinful is a mere reflection of the corruption and socially detrimental traditions that religious fundamentalists have shown throughout history.

People have believed it was going to be the "end" for thousands of years. Anyone remember the Bubonic Plague? Why are religious people so obsessed with "judgment day" and all this pessimism...people have enough to worry about in their own lives and nobody needs to think that the "end is coming" and that they might go to Hell. vegetarianism? really? the message in 1 timothy is not against a personal decision to absain from meat. it is a message to a minister who was dealing with the jewish converts telling everyone that they couldn't eat unclean animals. god revealed to paul that god's creation is good--including pigs. we can eat bacon at the church's prayer luncheon. heck, we could have equine enchilada, canine casserole, feline fritters, mouse muffins, koala kabobs, & serpent soup! as long as we are thankful. please

I believe that anyone who rejects this final ransom, this final propitiation for ours sins after having tasted the truth has nothing but fearful expectations to look forward to. Did the prophet Daniel sin when he refused to eat the kings 'rich foods'-namely meat? I think not! Scripture tells us not to judge another for what he eats or refuses to eat.
