I heard of your fear you might wake up one day and not be able to play anymore. I don't think that will ever happen to you as music (I believe) is hard wired in us. Unless another accident or severe health problems come your way, I think you will be expressing yourself through your music the rest of your life. Congratulations! (Psalms 139:13-16)
I went to High School with Derek.... We were good friends back then, spent a lot of time hanging out, being kids and getting in trouble... I can tell y'all from personal knowledge... He NEVER played music growing up at all.... Talking to him just today... the music and the story is amazing.... Keep rockin Derek!!! I'm in your corner man!.... Scott "MUDDY" Ceretti!!
I understand the brain interpreting music but how can anyone explain what prompted the adquisition of the technical skill... that takes years to accomplish!
only possibility I can think of at the moment is somehow those neural connections were brought back from some sort of communion with the Collective Unconscious... altho one would have to do some serious detective work to know for sure this is more than just a new-found aptitude given adequate time to flourish under the known laws of neuro-physics. ;-)
He started a bit slow, but knowing what is going to happen when you hit a certain key puts you well ahead of the curve... And then 14 hours a day for 6 days a week... technical finger work will come real quick with that kind of practice.
Please don't EVER take structured piano lessons and especially not music theory, I starte writing songs suddenly as well when I was 14. It sounds like I'm bragging probably, and you can think what you want, but the point I am making is that I understand (I think anyway). I create a lot of songs almost is real time like you do, and in college I took music theory classes.
actually this is not bullshit this is called sevant syndrome its when someone sustains a massive injury or is born like this and their brain functions differently. When you're a sevant u lose some abilities but gain others such as you can lose your reading skills but gain art skills
its because their right half isnt strong but their left side is. the right brain is used 99% but left is 1% or so xD Sevant's brains are not "connected" usually and half Sevants learn how to bring full potential to the right which is like math or full potential to their left which is like arts but if your a sevant your one or the other your either artsy or mathmatical. also it seems like heavy blows brings this out in people too DONT GO HITTING YOUR HEAD!
and only half of savants are born, the other half are made. Yes, that's right, dipshit. Go hit your head a couple times against a wall and you might activate part of that unused brain of yours. I am one of the few savants lucky enough to not have a handicap, other than a inability to tolerate fools...i shit on your mother
he should learn the notes and play some other instruments. i love piano, but i also love electric guitar
