Steven, I couldn't disagree more with your assessment of this video. Not once does Learmount jump to conclusions, and in fact mentions that a clear picture will only become available once the FDR is recovered and downloaded.
I too loathe the instant news culture in the US and abroad, but this video is far from sensationalist. Kudos to Flight International for a fair and tentative presentation of the facts.
How sad to see such an august journal as Flight International now resorting to becoming amateur air accident investigators.
Leave it to the experts to conduct their investigations rather than this trashy approach.
As a current professional pilot I find it sad that this tabloid approach to our industry fuels the instant news and never mind the accuracy approach.
