@Judemus87 I don't have any settings for a Slayer sound. I just have a generic tone I use for everything. Playing technique if far more important to getting the Slayer sound than equipment or settings. Although having this guitar certainly helps somewhat.

@unholy1967 What you're hearing isn't fretting noise. It's the sound of my pick hitting the strings because my amp volume is low and I'm standing very close to the webcam mic. With a proper setup of a mic at the cab or through my POD X3, the signal is pristine and you hear no picking noise.

With the current setup, there is zero fret buzz anywhere for any note on the neck. The only other guitar I own that can go that low is my custom Lado Earth, which is a $4000 custom shop instrument.

I haven't seen or tried the Wartribe personally. However, since the it uses the same materials and construction (hard maple neck-thru + soft maple body wings + ebony fretboard) and same electronics, it should sound quite similar to this guitar. Each instrument is unique due to the organic characteristics of wood, but with all these elements being the same, and assuming the same level of quality, then I'd say they'd sound pretty similar.

Cool. The only thing that sucks about having a signature guitar (like this for example) is that if you use it during a gig, everyone says.. "Oh, he's a Kerry King wannabe". My buddy got a lot of shit for using a Dimebag Washburn signature guitar during one of our sets.

@Skull24Crusher PA2 was active. It means I had the gain on my amp at about 2 to get that thick crunch tone. Without it, I'll have to crank the gain to about 5 or 6 to get the same effect.

You may have gotten one of the lower end models with bolt-on neck for $200. And believe me, it's not the same guitar at all.

@acaciastrain94 Through regular use and extreme whammy use, it stays in tune. But there is 1 weakness to the Kahler system that's well publicized everywhere, and explains a lot about Slayer's seemingly "overuse" of dive-bombing the end of solos...

Simple string bending will cause all strings to go slightly flat. The fix for this is to dive the whammy even just a bit. Upon returning, the strings are all in tune again. Otherwise, if properly set up, tuning stability is excellent.

@xBCxRICHx1993 I usually don't do signature guitars, particularly with graphics. But I wanted an all maple BC Rich V with a Kahler. I love the Kahler, and like the sharp attack of maple. Other BC Rich Vs all come with Floyds and mahogany. I have enough mahogany guitars. I wanted a different sound than what my other guitars give me (all Les Paul or Explorer variants). This was the only game in town, hence why I bought it. I'm glad I did.

You can always go MH1000 and add the preamp. It's easy.

@xBCxRICHx1993 jackson sl3mg/ slat3-6/DK1, schecter hellraiser c1/ hellraiser special, PRS SE torero. you're familiar with jacksons neck, so i'll take that as a base for descriptions: the schecters have a !slightly! fatter neck and not such a wide fretboard, the torero has a pretty similar neck to the jackson.

@RadialJugernot The amp is a Peavey XXX head running through a Line 6 Spyder III cab. The cabinet has 2 stock Celestion / Line 6 speakers, and 2 Celestion V30s. Originally the store had ordered me a Spyder Valve cabinet (with V30s). I figured screw it, and just bought the wrong cab and swapped 2 of the speakers with a pair of V30s I had at home.

@RadialJugernot As a side note - Peavey don't make the XXX head anymore, at least not under that name. The Peavey 3120 is the "replacement" for it, but not much of a replacement as it's exactly the same amp with a different name and look. Otherwise, all controls (front and back) are the same and it sounds identical. If you can find a used XXX, you can get one hell of a deal on them.
