The Anime is more of a cross between Evangelion and the Gundam Seed series, with the mechs and enemies being of Evangelion Style while the animation design is of Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny.

@XMissAnimeGirlX If you can stand a little angst, Evangelion would probably be the better pick. The story's better, and the characters are a lot more interesting. Fafner would have better animation and a less confusing plot though.

@XMissAnimeGirlX She(Toomi) actually reminds me more of Miriallia Haw. I don't really like Hirai Hisashi's character designs that much. They're all too similar to one another.

@XMissAnimeGirlX It's fairly good, but I felt it missed a few spots here and there to change it from being good to something really great. If you can't stand Evangelion similarities though, be warned that the setting is pretty much a copy paste from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Also, characters die. A lot.

@IndoneVoid Could have something to do with the fact that the first 10 episodes are slow as fuck.

@Dieters2001 I completely agree. Most people don't have the patience to get past that initial block and cast it aside as an Evangelion/RahXephon ripoff rather than being something different on its own.
