craig proves that just because you are famous and have money does not mean you have to be stuck up and self righteous its a nice change from normal celebrity behavior
Craig is just an amazing person. Funny as hell, but also very insightful. My fav part in this interview was how he compares America with other nations in terms of their view of failure.
I appreciate how in American culture if you screw up, it's cool, you can just try again, but in Asian culture, if you screw up, you've disgraced your whole family and you're labeled a failure til the day you die.
I thought it was awesome that Craig owned his talent there!!! :D He's truly special.
I've only seen one picture of Milo and he is suuuuuper cute!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much, my lovely Malinky, for bringing me happiness and affirm me that this society still has great people around!!!! And to end this, all I want to say is *balls* <3
I love this man so much. His vulnerability when he mentioned he still thinks about having a drink was so raw, it was beautiful (I hope you guys understand what I mean by "beautiful" here).
@ElOnlyMan You should go to one of his tapings and wear something flashy ;) All I did was wear this huge chunky pink scarf and he noticed and spoke to me three times. Totally won my life on that one :) It's a very fun show to watch live.
Great interview with a brilliant Craig Ferguson. Eisner is a great interviewer who really digs into the answers. Contrary to most interviewers Eisner really means what he's saying in the end of the interview. I'm very sure Craig appreciates the honesty.
the interview has some really beautiful moments. I think Eisner has done a good job there, especially regarding the chronology, but also in terms of tone and focus.
I think that's a very great interview. Those who thought Eisner didn't understand him or his audience may have misinterpreted the purpose of this interview (or any interview generally), which was to know more about his wisdom and how he handled himself.
hi im mike eisner i look like a fucking ventriliquest dummy and talk about a man who was TO POINT OF SUICIDE like im talking about my fucking golf game from last weekend. good lord.
Eisner did quite a wonderful job of leading craig into questions and letting him put across his experiences and wisdom in a clear way. I thought this was a great interview.
Craig has a wonderful talent, well, not talent really. Its a special thing he has in his life others just doesnt have. And its neither a good or bad thing :)
I thought that Craig came across very well and Eisner did a great job of shutting up and letting Craig speak. And Craig came across is someone on top of his game but without the massive ego of someone on top of his game.
I repeat...what a bunch of delusional whiners. Eisner does a quite decent job of getting Craig to talk about what makes him tick and most importantly stays the hell out of the way. He needs to get to those points he'd like to discuss but I've seen *many* interviewers who talk over their guests or are more interested in what they have to say rather than their guests. Eisner is doind solid work here and Craig is, as usual, his open, honest self.
@Steppeponytail I think what most people have a problem with is his attitude and close-mindedness. Yes, good, he lets Craig answer the questions he's asked without much interruption, but I was annoyed at his "I don't really believe that" comment here and the same sort of thing in the first part. It's as if he doesn't even consider Craig might be comfortable in a timeslot that brings fewer viewers because the tradeoff means less scrutiny, and instead assumes he must be lying to appear gracious
@Steppeponytail there;s a lot of condescension in his voice, and that is what everyone is pissed about. eisner acts as if he doesnt believe in craigs answers, suggests that he talks about his dead parents to gain audience sympathy, insinuates that craig is lying about not wanting to take dave's job.... it is not just disrespecful, it is BAD JOURNALISM to appear so personally biased.
Michael Eisner was a big shot at Disney. You would hope that someone whose media content concerns mostly kids would be a little more empathetic, but this is a perfect example of the bad interview. Bless Craig for being so open and honest.
The interviewer is so insensitive!! "Oh, was that before you tried to kill yourself?" WTH? Who says that? He's lucky Craig Ferguson is so candid and easy-going.
I have never heard of that Eisner person before, so I certainly don't want to protect him, but I think the reason, he could ask a question like this, is because Craig Ferguson handles that part of his past very open.
So I can imagine, that he wouldn't have asked such a question, if this would be different.
I can't know it of course, it's just an assumption ^^
@shortbutstrong but wouldnt you say that a coy roundabout interviewer would have been worse for the style of who Craig is? CF himself is easily very direct about everything hes done so i feel like being indirect wouldnt have worked for this interview at all
How is is show competing with Jimmy Fallon's... is it on at the same time or something? Oh yeah, do these shows come on in England because I'd really like to watch them...
Well hes kicking Fallons butt.Fallon isnt that good at lest not to me.And no they dont go out in england.i think but its on utube full episodes thank to Malinky2Stoatir.
Craig mentions quite often in his monologues that he loves Scotland, it's his home. The book he wrote, "Between the Bridge and the River", is mostly set there.
I'm sorry I don't know this guy but he really sucks at this. I so enjoy Craig's answers and honesty but that other guy just keeps bringing me down. I think Craig's being very polite not to roll his eyes whenever the other one opens his mouth!
Michael Eisner is an idiot, offcourse a recovered alcoholic is going to remember the last day he ever had a drink..What the hell is wrong with this guy? And you should think he did some research on Craig Ferguson before he interviewed him as well : /
What we have here is a man who still has ownership of his heart and soul and another one who lost custody of his long ago. Craig intends to retain ownership of his. Eisner can't find his with both hands.
@brt5470 Agreed, Jimmy Fallon freakin sucks. He keeps trying to make jokes and they always suck so bad. The worst part is that he seems really believe in his comedy, so pathetic...
@brt5470 I know there must be some people who like him, but I actually get embarrassed when I watch Jimmy because he's soooooo bad. It's like he's the son of the channel's president or something. And so many good people go to his show that I would LOVE to be on Craig, like Sir MacCa and Ricky Gervais.
@TheBrainFlow I've started liking Fallon more but he's still like a ant compared to Ferguson's comic wit. I've stopped mostly watching late night for awhile, but I will always watch Ferguson if I can.
lol And I wasn't even going to mention the makeup. I'm beginning to think this was all set up by a CBS rival to make him look like a dork. Contrary to popular belief I am a fan of Mr Ferguson (the early days in particular). It's the only reason I take shots at him. I want him to be as great as Frankie Boyle you see.
Have you seen the monologue where he eulogizes his dad? He says something about Scotland ... and it seemed - to me - very sincere. He loves his home country.
Eisner is an awful interviewer. he could learn a lesson or two from Craig.
