@mbn4226 Well our version is under construction. The railway expansion were using standard gauge as the whole length from BKH to SIN. Rumour says that government is consulting with German, Japan and China for high speed train selection. Also the high speed train depot had constructed at Melaka, it is confirmed.

I've traveled the word quite a bit and must say that I personally like the German ICE trains a lot better. They are by far more elegant and the intereior as well as the exterior design is way more high-class. Plus, the ICE4 series goes up to 330 km/h which is 205 mph. Wooohoooo, what a ride!

@mc762 I think you'll find that the Japanese Maglev (MLX01) has achieved 586km/h, whereas the French TGV has only managed 574.8kmh. The Maglev record is also older than the TGV record, and on a test track which is only 42km long - the TGV needed 140km of track for it's run.

Wheel on rail isn't dead, Maglev has a lot of negatives, but when it comes to both acceleration and top speed, Maglev wins hands down.

"bullshit" The Japanese tracks are much more level than the French. At high speeds both trains can negotiate very steep short grades without difficulty. The speed difference is purely due to the technology being used. TGV's are basically locomotive push pull trains. Shinkansens are multiple powered axles spread along most of the train.

New models are built to keep up with technology and demand. The first was the '0' series which have now been totally withdrawn. West of Tokyo you will see 100, 300, 500,700, and N700 sets. North of Tokyo they run 200, 400, E1, E2, E3, E4, and soon E5 sets. JR consists of different operating companies that build their own sets. You can see them all in my clips. Oh and on Kyushu there is now the 800 class but I do not have any video of them......yet.
