Do what you find most enjoyable. Affliction and Destruction are producing pretty much the same DPS for me at the moment.

But I play demonology most of the time. Why? I enjoy it most.

I don't understand y u would cast shadow bolt and Haunt first. I'm trying to increase my dps which god awful. I mean if you get yer dots running, they can deal damage while you cast shadowbolt and haunt so that way ur always hurting the mob nonstop.

You specifically start with shadow bolt then haunt to apply two stacks of shadow embrace. This increases all shadow periodic damage dealt.

to correct something I said eariler about the expansion Spirit is not going to be taken out MP5 is. For warlocks currently Spirit is still useful for spell power yes but shouldn't be a large reason on why you choose your gear. For the most part haste is what your looking for for affliction, but alot of the haste off pieces have spirit on them. Affliction warlocks basically want these 3 glyphs Glyph of Quick Decay/ Glyph of Life Tap/ Glyph of Haunt, and usually a 56/0/15 spec

Have a look at haunt...how it affects your shadow DoTs. Then have a look at improved shadow bolt in the affliction tree. Question answered :)

You don't want to cast drain soul however until 25% because any time before this it won't have the 4x dmg effect and just be a waste of DPS.

and to add to this in 3.2.2 Destruction spec does a higher amount of DPS than the affliction tree. Though in patch 3.3 affliction will become viable again by using the new glyph of decay which makes corruption tic faster based upon your haste.

The only thing they've ever really talked about taking out is Spirit and 3.3 isn't the expansion it's icecrown. So I don't know where you're getting your information.

Your wrong spirit is staying it just wont be on tier lock armor. it will be on offset cloth items and we will continue to use it for spell power.

They added a haste using glyph for corruption.

Also of note is the fact that your current DS spell will not update to 4x the damage just becuase the boss hits the sub-25% during its channel time, you actually need to re-reapply a new one if you cast it above 25%

The goal of the affliction rotation is to keep all your dots up while keeping two stacks of shadow embrace this is done by refreshing haunt and casting shadowbolt if all your dots are up. The reason you cast Drain Soul is because it's ticks for 4x the amount of damage it normally does plus how many dots you have ticking on the target. If all your dots are up and you are keeping shadow embrace up you be able to have drain soul tic for around 12-15k depending on your gear.

no, drain soul. Ill tell you why, when a target is under 35% HP drain soul deals like 2x or 3x the damage it normal causes and that is alot more then drainlife.
