@kylereese2000 but if he was the only man on the field he would have a huge problem geting the ball back people seem to forget that there is another 10 men on the field there is no so such thing as single handedly geting ireland to the world in a team sport i know if i was captain i would have done my best to stay at the world cup regardless of the training conditions or my thinking of the manager i think it will haunt roy for the rest of his life not playing at his last world cup as captain

@kylereese2000 He didn't single handedly do anything for us in the world cup qualifiers. I wouldn't go as far as calling him a traitor but he definitely wasn't committed to the cause. He left us because of "inadequate training facilities". That isn't a good reason to abandon your country during a world cup. I'm glad he didn't stay though we played freer and more creative football without him with 2 creative midfielders. He was more of a holding player - a great one but not as creative.

Pleased Dunphy is still making a good living. Still Millwall's most capped player. "Only a Game" is one of the best Football books ever written. Interesting watching the RTE clips. He does seem to talking be complete bollocks though (Purposely Contrarian) from what I see and perhaps going through some mid life crisis. Entertaining however and would prefer it to BBC.
