i gave up on adding themes to my storm.. makes it run crappy and when u go into media folders or messages its still the original bb theme so it looks retarded when pretty much only the menu screen is different

theres a setting to combine or to have separate icons for sms and messages. it doesnt have anything to do with the theme except that the theme has it combined or not by default.

while in the front screen; press the bb key. when all of your apps show up, then, press it again. in that menu youll find an option named option. click on it. then from their you can change your background. hope that helps!
