@bobbymapp I just watched an episode last night where Gomer had to paint a truck camoflague and a bunch of hippies came and helped him and ended up making it look like a hippie vehicle. they sat around a campfire together and sang Bob Dylan's "Blowin' In The Wind". I'm not sure which season or episode it was, but I wonder if this scene was edited out of the DVD version. Do you know?

@bobbymapp I just watch it on TV and haven't seen the DVD versions yet. That stinks to hear that they chopped up this episode and left this great scene out. Have you noticed anything missing from other episodes? Overall, how would you rate the DVD's?

@cRaShDoG this was the only scene I noticed specifically, but I did some reading, and it turns out that the cost of paying royalties to music copyrights caused a few more scenes throughout the series to get cut for DVD. However, I love having the DVDs.

@bobbymapp also, do you remember which episode Sgt Carter was looking at himself in the mirror and singing, "you great big beautiful doll..." Gomer walks in and Carter changes his tune to the marine hymn. I can't find it, so maybe that one got cut too.

@bobbymapp I think I vaguely remember that one, but i'm not sure. Like I said, I just watch the reruns on TV, so there's a lot of episodes i've missed, but I look foreward to getting it on DVD soon so I can watch the complete series in chronological order.

@bobbymapp yeah, that's what i figured it must be. nowdays shows work royalties for DVD releases into their agreements before the episodes even air, but back then they never even thought about such things. I see that i can get the complete DVD series for about $65.00 on ebay. I think i'll buy it pretty soon.
