People like to say we're all the same, but we are not the same.... some are extremely talented and others work bloody hard. Both of these apply to Peter Frampton. Forget the r&r hall of fame - I say the queen should knight the guy! Sir Peter Frampton... hmmm has a nice ring to it
this is a great song! I think he has gotten better the older he gets. I am going to see him when he comes here to san antonio oct . 19 / 11 . Had to pay 300 for my ticket but worth every penny! I wish I could play half that good.....awesome
I was lucky enough to see this magic every night in the summer of 2001 when the Eric Stuart Band was his opening act for that summer tour. Playing guitar on the same stage as Peter every night was a dream come true and some of the best times of my life. Peter is a true artist and this video captures that very well. RIP Bob Mayo.....
Frampton's sound is pure *magic* I feel so privileged to have been a teenager & old enough to be able to really appreciate Frampton when he created all his major hits. No bout-a-doubt-it the 70's were some amazing times.
I saw him in 1976 in montreal canada, the original frampton comes alive tour, and i'm going to see him in toronto in july ,35 years later , can't wait , gotta love the guy....
This guy was great, media made him not so good but that time is past. Listen to him NOW!!!! Lobe ya big guy!!! and FUk rap and all that trash out there now
I've always like peter framton I was a senior in high school when framton comes alive came out and I had to but the 8 track about 3 time because I would wear it out
that and jetro tull ahh yes those were the good times
being a long time Frampton fan, i'm sure despite his personal issues, his musical career could've lasted longer than 1978 if the media wouldn't have made him a teen idol. I'm sure the he would've rocked the 80's hard as hell right along with VH, Rhodes, and Vai.
@kingemerald1 Sometimes it takes an iron fist to protect the artist from record execs. It seems new artists keep repeating and repeating the same old mistakes. I'm thinking particularly of Taylor Hayes, a talented musician, mutated into horrifying manufactured product.
Sometimes I think Jimmy Page ought to write a manual on "How To Prevent Getting Screwed by Big Music".
@kingemerald1 he is a superstar & his carrer never died....the media just made it that way....the man has never stopped & never will....fuck what critics think.......he's better than any guitarist after him cos he was doing it first. This man is unstoppable
A couple tunes from what would later be called "Frampton's Camel" were played and this was one of them. Amazing music for a guy so young (at that time)
The entire "Frampton's Camel" LP from which this came Lines on My Face", "Do You Feel" and more led to the "Comes Alive" double LP. I was at Winterland in San Francisco for some of the recordings. The wrenching lyrics of "Lines" echoed my own life at the time and Peter's guitar on the the studio version is as powerful and moving (if not more) than any live version. I've seen Peta' 3 times most recently as we were both well into our fifties. Great, Great guitarist and performer.
I just saw him in Toledo last week... FREAKING AWESOME GUITAR GENIUS!!! I was mesmerized by his talent and his wonderful rapport with the fans. Thanks Peter!
I'm seeing Frampton in a 2000 seat casino theatre on May 21, 2010 and can't wait. His new album is awsome, give it a listen. I originally saw him when he opened up for Rod Stewart before the 'Live' album, great then, great now.
Because now he lives in America (Ohio) for quite awhile now, and he's being married to an American woman (Tina Elfers) since 1996. Nothing phoney about it. Accents are easy to acquire, especially if you haven't lived in your birth place for awhile.
There are so many other guitarists that are more tech savvy and faster, but Frampton is in a league with Gilmore and few others for pure emotion in his playing.
By far one of Frampton's best songs. Here is a man that refuses to be forgotten and has been persistent and fought hard to stay viable and in the public eye and rightly so.
First heard this song when I was 12. I've seen him 3 or 4 times over the years live up close...what a player..what emoton..what a voice..what technique..what a prodigy..what a songwriter. One of a kind. As good now as ever. Keep going brother.
My favorite song by Frampton, he always try to play it just a little different each time. Classic by a class act.
