The reason Houston fans hate the Cowboys? It is simple. The Houston Oiler fan was monogamous when it came to the Oilers. A lot of other football fans say they like this team / that team but have a favorite. No sir, you either love your football team and are loyal to them and them alone, or you're just another slut-fan on the streets.
What should happen is this, the Texans move to San Antonio (who want an NFL team) and investors pony up in Houston to bring back the Oilers, same helmets, colors, everything.
@captainamerica1967us wont happen as long as Bud Adams is alive...even though im a die hard Texans fan, i want the Oilers back...but the Texans name would make more sense in SA, since Houston has its own gimmick for team names
luv ya blue!!! i still do NOT for the life of me understand WHY THE BLOODY HELL that stink of DEATH bud adams had to fire bum phillips after the 1980 season! i would certainly imagine after the misadventures of the ed biles, chuck studley, and hugh campbell years, those three straight 10-6 records bum's bunch posted looked pretty DAMN good!! love the song and the team, even though i must admit that i am a pittsburg steelers and dallas cowboys fan. however, i DID like bum's bunch. luy ya blue
Man, those Luv Ya Blue Oilers will be missed! Remember Kenny Burrough? I found a website where he sells #00 merchandise. It's pretty nostalgic. Search 00Wear to find it.
If only we could have gotten rid of the greedy owner instead of him ridding our town of its football team!
I still wonder if the Steelers could have been taken the second time we met them in the championship, when that really bad call robbed us of a touchdown early in what had been a close game...
i still have the 45 of this song- my parents have pictures of me dancing around naked while wearing an oilers helmet while this song played. i was like 3 years old. Ha!
This brings back very fond memories. 32 years ago, I was in HS. There was a St. Pius QB named Kubiak carving up our Marian Christian Colts defense. Luv Ya Blue!
I actually had the 45 (record) of this until just a few months ago. Had to get rid of it during some spring cleaning, but I hated to let it go. Still can't believe Carl Mauck called Dan Pastorini the "fancy passing..." well I'm not gonna say it. Not exactly the "political correctness" era, as I recall. LOL!
I've been a Raider die-hard fan since the mid 70's but even i miss the Oilers.

In the '80s the Oilers actually tried to be the Raiders, getting really mean and nasty under Jerry Glanville in the House of Pain.

@maddash33 Yeah, I remember that. Glanville did the same thing in Atlanta. Even changed the uniforms.

Can you give me the lyrics? Thanks.
PS: If the Houston Oilers comes back, I don't know which team I'll support, 'cause I'm a Titans fan.

The NFL retiring the Houston Oilers team name is the reason I don't have a team....so now, I live to hate the Cowboys....

Luv Ya Blue! Big Bad Earl! Good memories of the Astrodome. Especially in the late 70s! I'll never forget the night the Astodome opened though.

Houston Oilers are 1,0000000% better than any Texans loser team

Carl Mauck was a good center. The oilers had good offensive lineman from that era. Ed Fisher was great and the others were awesome too.
